It's called X, X/1999 or X/TV. It's made by Clamp & it's an anime/manga more aimed for girls than boys, but it's contains a lot of gore-ish themes & death, plus some shounen-ai/yaoi (nothing big though) & it's about destiny & the fate of the world as two sides battle to decide the future. Very good.
