  • @teresaraaen Johnny Contardo from Sha Na Na sang this song, not Travolta :)

  • @teresaraaen This song was not in the movie.

  • FABULOUS!!!!!

  • THIS IS AMAZING! best version i have ever seen. and its live which shows this man has real talent not the talent of some of todays pop stars as they alter their voices on machines until it doesnt even sound like them. But this is raw, beautiful talent! amazing job!

  • the 6 dislikes are members of the scorpions

  • Man, I just got Cast as Doody in our production of grease, and oh buddy this is going to be great. I just hope i can do anything close to this magnitude of performance tho. Sam blows my mind every time he sings, most defiantly this is going to be so great. I'm so stoked.

  • Good to you and congrats on getting Doody, I did Grease last year and was Casted as Danny, but if there was anyone else I would have loved to have been it would have been Doody, Those Magic Changes is my favourite song in the whole show!

  • I didn't think it was in the movie....

  • Yes, it was in the movie - Johnny Contardo, who was then in Sha Na Na, sang lead on this song. He's the original.

  • @SamHarrisCOM

I live in England and have never heard of you before i happened upon your video. This is the best performance i have ever seen. I think your movement and stage presence is excellent and your voice out of this world. I perform with a Roy Orbison tribute show and thought i had heard the best voice ever in the man who performs Roy's songs but you really are amazing. When the hairs have settled down on the back of my neck i'll watch it again ...BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think i was about 13 when this production was playing in new york and i'd play this recording over and over DYING for this vocal range. such a solid cast. i loved hearing this, kenickie TEAR UP greased lightning, and billy porter unlike any other teen angel. • he's really good and so is the current Doody playing at the Brooks Atkinson theater, Ryan Patrick Bender he's AMAZING!

  • they're singing the guitar chords. look up a different rendition where it puts the song in context - doody has learned how to play the guitar over the summer, etc.

  • Thank´s.

  • Could somebody tell me what they sing in the 1:46 minute... in the chorus, I don´t understand it.?

  • I can actually listen to this....sounds great,BUT The NEW Danny and Sandy............BLAH, SUCK!..my ears bleed when Max and Laura sing (and Hello..I am from the 70's, Sandy is a BLONDE!

  • Yeah, you sound like you're from the 70's. I am going to see Max and Laura's final show tomorrow, and just can't wait! They are AMAZING with INCREDIBLE voices---you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. And hello, guess what? Sandy doesn't have to be a blonde---the first Sandy on Broadway was a brunette, I don't think hair color should have anything to do with it. Enjoy your evening, I know I will....and can't wait for tomorrow night!!!!!!

  • OMG!!!! REALLY ur SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lucky.............hey can u record the curtain call @ da end and post it on utube?? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or like if they make a specch!!!!! PLEASE!!!

  • good job! I am on my way to a costume fitting for Camelot. But my favs are "Little SHop" and "Grease" (I once performed "Freddy My Love" ; > ) I also love "Pump Boys" You would be a great "Jim"

    Best regards,

    Sherry+

  • Always a great voice!

  • you were great in this musical i wish i could go see it!

  • Very good I am pretty sure you were the Doody that I met in Montreal in early 90... with the Grease production... I tought you were nice because you took time to say hello and sign an autograph for me.

    Nadia fan from Montreal

  • I agree, its a great performance, but a tad bit uptempo.

  • Beautiful.

  • This is da best song ever i was doody at denon avenue in herricks a year ago

  • he sings it so perfect

    good for him

  • Wow! - I was so moved. Really. Awesome. Thank you very, very much.

  • nicely sung, by seems reeeeally up tempo.

  • wow im blown away =) i love it omg !!!!!!!

  • Hi! I'm Andrew. Out of all roles in Grease, is the role of Doody a really cool, memorable role to have, in the audience's point of view?

That's cos I'm playing the role of Doody in an upcoming major Grease musical in Hong Kong.

  • i looove this song, and he's the best i've evr heard sing it to date... he honestly doesn't even have a falsetto, he sings in it like the whole time!! that's the sign of a really really good tenor, even like josh groban has to go into falsetto sometimes but this guy is amaaaaazing!!!

  • Amazing. I LOVE Grease! :)

  • this is awesome! he kinda sounds like elvis. oh well it's still good

  • This sing is practically impossible. I'm plaing doody for the school(yes i know this has been said 100 times) and you have to have a huge range to sing ths song

  • I'm playing Doody right now also.. It really is VERY hard. They have made a "lowered" version for me. :)

  • Im also playing Doody soon at QUEEN ELIZABETH HIGH SCHOOL and the song is so hard to sing but the guy above sings it so well!

  • Yeah Sam, does do quite a good job. I got though all 9 of my performances, and never cracked or messed up. Thank Goodness.

The "lowered" version really worked well, and sounds almost better than the Samuel French version. Well I was pleased, good luck with your performances!!

  • I'm playing Doody at my school next month. =]

  • amazing voice...my god :)

  • Absolutely amazing!

Why haven´t i heard about his guy before?

  • I had to sing this version recently.. i consider myself a good singer but my cant even compare to his.

  • no one can play Doody like Sam!

  • So guess what, I was doing this GREASE REUNION show (I played Roger/Teen Angel... very fun) BUT anyways, you'll never guess what I heard backstage in our change room, we were ALL LISTENING TO SAM!!! Sing this song, and everyone was like, "HOLY FUCK WAT this guy is amazing, I could never do that" and it took all my power not to scream out that you subscribe to my videos!! LOL

I'm a dork but whatever. This songs/rendition is amazing

  • why is sam herris blue?

  • Probably just the lighting.

  • they are using blue light?

  • Sam is related to Violet Beauregarde.

  • uh huh...

  • also i have this song on my ipod =)

    you have a nice voice

  • my friend played this part in grease at my school and he sang a large part of the song in falcetto, its amazing how this guy did it rarely going into falcetto, if ever

  • This is the best version of this song on the net. Our school is doing Grease in '08. I hope our Doody can be as good as half as good as this.

  • I got to sing this for my school's rendition of Grease, and I learned to love the crap out of this song =]]

    Sounds greatt :D

  • DadLabs love Sam Harris!

  • Really, really nice. Very talented guy. I can't help being partial to Johnny Contardo's version from the movie, though. :)

  • WOW....what I would not have given to see him in Grease on Broadway....his voice is perfect for that music (heck...it's perfect for any music but definitely 50's).

  • This is Leo's favorite song.

  • This is EFFING crazy! I love it. A lot of the revival was super cool.

  • This made me smile : )Thanks! XOXO

  • omg i love it!

i listen to this on the CD All the time!

    xo buck
