My Uncle Ken introduced me to Joe's music and had the priveledge of listening to Joe (live) on an open patio before the Padres' last game of the season.
Absolutely loved this song (along with a few others). I purchased two of his albums and love how he always seems to have something positive to sing about.
JRJ, you're surely right about Zippy, Michael Smith's song about moving from 60's hippiedom to middle age (once you were Jimi Hendrix Experienced, now you're Kenny G'd). I don't think I have ever heard anyone but Michael do it.
Sailor, I know for sure that Michael's Princess and the Frog is at least 4 years old, and maybe quite a bit older.
Very good effort. Wish someone would post M.P. Smiths versions of this and also Gambles Guitar. Have seen Michael perform this live several times at Gamble Rogers Festival ( Michael and Gamble were friends when Gamble was alive). If you really want to stretch your creative talents, try covering "Zippy" . I heard it took Mr. Smith 2 years to learn it and he wrote the song!.
I think I'd recognize Jim Hinton anywhere. Hi Jim! Nice work, Joe..cool song!

Just so happens that I heard Bill Brackett cover Zippy, last week at Milanos. He did a great job! That song is quite a trip.

Is this really for the Disney movie, because I could swear I heard this somewhere else once, but now I can't remember where.

Thanks for commenting GOG. I've only seen Joe do this song and I've not heard of Kat. I'll see if I can find em on youtube. :0)
