christo do you move your right hip down towards the ball or towards the target on the downswing. i see you keep your left leg straight on the backswing is there a reason, thank you, i enjoy your videos best on you tube. Are you still using martins move?
@heronpete From the top I move into my left knee and then unwind. I keep my right leg "semi-straight" and turn around it like a post. I definitely use Martin's move. The secret is in how it unwinds into the ball.
I have been working on this very thing after being inspired by your other videos to not give up on learning the beautiful Hogan swing. Do you have any swing thoughts that facilitate that unique club-drop at the transition that seems to wrap the club around the body? I've been experimenting with the sensation of my hip turn "pulling" my right elbow toward the ball and into my side to delay the internal rotation of my right arm. I admire the swing action you have achieved!
@plankspanker1969 When you get to the top, keep your arms, shoulders and chest relaxed and leave them up there as your lower body unwinds. Let the clubhead feel like it falls behind you. Believe me, it will catch up very quickly.
@myswingevolution Thanks for the advice! I'm "working on staying relaxed" if that isn't too much of an oxymoron--sometimes the hardest thing to do is nothing. That little clubhead drop behind is a tricky bit of business, but I really like that motion of the club almost wrapping around the body. That's the problem with this obsession--I've got blisters on my blisters :)
One thing you might want to try is to rotate your right hip towards the target in unison with the pulling down motion of the arms. But, make sure to pull down as far as you can, it will feel like you're going to hit a slice to right field. The trick is to keep pulling down as the right hip rotates to the target all they way through to your finish. Do not stall your hips or the pulling down of the arms. Let me know if you give this a try. Cheers!
Not sure if you ever heard of Slicefixer but he has some insights that can help you achieve the Hogan fundamentals. There is a Word doc floating around called Texarcana, see if you can get a copy, it's a great insight. You can probably get it from one of the golf forums like Golfwrx.
You have a fine swing and I believe this is your down move, but not Mr Hogan's

Christo thank you for your reply, by moving into your left knee do you mean that your right side starts the downswing, thanks again play well

I'm working on that very same move. I'm an upper body "hitter" and I'm trying to use ground and legs more.
