I was a little apathetic towards UPN in their twilight years, especially when One on One and All of Us got really crappy overhauls, but now I'm really missing this channel. There really is no black programming on any major networks. I was naive to think CW would become the best of both stations but they axed every black show they could. Girlfriends ran for 8 seasons and disappeared in a poof of smoke.
I want it all back: Moesha, Half & Half, even the offbeat stuff like Veronica Mars.
Man, what's with all this UPN hate? Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Enterprise, Dilbert, The Twilight Zone, Everybody Hates Chris... come on! Those were good shows! This song is catchy, by the way.
I agree that UPN seemed that it could not decide if it wanted to attract black viewers or follow the bigger stations lead by focusing on hour long dramas. At least UPN, unlike Fox, would give shows a chance to prove themselves. Fox's focus, I think, is to be a cable network for regular television. They let go alot of good shows over the years (Fastlane, Cedric the Entertainer presents, etc).
Me too...and while I did watch a # of WB shows, about the only UPN show I ever watched was their 1999 "Scared Straight! 20 Years Later" special, as well as an ep of Shasta McNasty (remember that bomb?) where one of the guys goes on Win Ben Stein's Money.
Nearly EVERY station puts their id bug in the corner of the screen. The only stations that I have noticed NOT do this is premium channels, and even they put the id bug on the screen at the beginning of shows. I prefer that stations use the bug to identify the station while channel surfing. ALL of the networks do it as do the majority of cable channels. The only ones that are annoying are the large animations that occur after commercials.
You're proud not to have watched ANY WB or UPN shows because they slapped watermark logos over the show like EVERY OTHER STATION? That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, especially after seeing this piece of history and feeling the nostalgia with seeing these old shows again.
Homeboys in Outer Space, anyone? And Moesha...it feelsl ike it's been so long since that went off the air.
the old shape logo reminds me of CTV

Was The Sentinel the show on UPN to have the Pet Fly Productions logo buzzing?

Voyager seems so out of place in that promo, even though it was the network.

UPN was such a weird network. It's funny how out of place Star Trek with all its polished glitz looks when put next to the urban sitcoms.

I hope this doesn't get removed because we need to keep a piece of UPN history before it becomes The CW!

Sure it helps channel surfing, but what if you want to actually WATCH the show???
