  • can someone please tell me what the tune for this dance is? is it allemande it self? btw great video :)

  • Check out this book:

Guillaume; Characteres de la Danse Allemande, 1769, Paris, Chez L'auteur.

You will see 100% of the movements shown on the DVD.

    Enjoy!

  • The allemande originally was a procession of couples, arm-in-arm, hands foward, etc. I don't know about this.

  • forward, I mean

  • great dabce

  • Cute! I immagined Bach

  • Hmm... I always thought an Allemande was a so called `Schreit-Tanz´/(Stride-Dance) This constant `touching each other´ seems also not baroque-alike to me - remember: the waltz was accused of a certain rude/rural manner, because the dancers had constant contact to each other.

  • dancing is a very strange way to carry on ...

  • Interesting. Simple but entertaining.

  • splendid...just change the music to Mazurka-like and think of it as a variation of the Holubiec turn...tour sur place...

  • !!! I LOVE the spin at the end. :D

  • This is perfect!! Thank you so much for posting.

  • More! It's wonderful. Allemande is very simple, but it's one of my favorite Baroque dances.

  • Lovely! Thank you for posting.
