  • Wonderful, Thanks for posting this! Roys music is timeless, but seeing into his life in this is like peering into a time capsule, of a time I am not familiar with.

HOW is this not on PBS these days ever?

  • 1971! Wow!

PBS hasn't played this ? why?

  • PERSONAL TO SHARON ROCKEFELLER- THIS IS THE MOST REQUESTED SHOW PBS EVER AIRED!

WANT TO NEVER HAVE ANOTHER PLEDGE WEEK? PONY UP! GIRL UP! Restore this thing and release it. Forty years is too long for "Buchanan Nation" to see this only when courageous fans post their own copies only to have it pulled down again and again!

I would rate this as historically important a broadcast as the 1964 Ed Sullivan Beatles appearances.Sharon,we're waiting and we're getting old, too!!!!!!!!!!

  • You can read more about Roy's life and career in the biography "American Axe" by Phil Carson, interesting, but maybe for hard core fans (like me!)

  • I saw this PBS show when I was in maybe middle school or early high school. It meant I never enjoyed Don Kirshner's Rock Concert and the Midnight Special as much again! Roy was my first concert, in about 1974 or so, I still recall dressing up in my plaid bell-bottoms for it!

  • What a treasure, thanks so much for posting. I had no idea Roy was such a beautiful human being. And man, his playing...the guy is full of surprises

  • Thank you for posting this. I missed it the first time around, and now am completely fascinated. Ironically, it was Johnny Otis' death that led me to Roy Buchanan (as well as Esther Phillips - another relatively unknown, brilliant singer)...

  • Haven't seen this since it first aired and always thought it contained some of his best stuff

  • Haven't seen this in 40 years. Thanks

  • thank you

  • we're gunna understand it all bye n bye

  • you're the one to put this documentary out here!

    thanx

  • Спасибо!!!

  • Got the privilege of seeing him live twice, the last time just a few weeks before his passing. The "Livestock" album is one of the best live recordings ever made.

  • Awesome.

  • Wow, never saw this before. Amazing, thanks so much!

  • He is undeniably unique and musically soul transforming!
