my choir is singing this song with a version that is in English AND Latin. Best of both worlds....completely agree with MillieAzure about staccato! This version is too slow for me....
I prefer this song in Latin, you get a better contrast between the staccato and legato phrases with the Latin, and it's better for diction that way which, seeing as it was composed as a processional piece, does help. Crisp diction, crisp steps. I suppose if you aren't processing, English is fine, though. I do like the addition of the hand bells, the fit with the translation of the title.
i agree it is a better song when it is in latin we are singing this song in our christmas concert you have ruined it by singing in english it sounds so much better in latin

my choir is singing this song with a version that is in English AND Latin. Best of both worlds....completely agree with MillieAzure about staccato! This version is too slow for me....
