Canada without the first nation is nothing , Canada has done something that the United State and many other country in america as fail ! Representing the first Nation to the world ! Bravo !
Canada's small price to pay for First Nation's cooperation avoiding the protests and boycott's and bad PR that they deserve. Still I suppose it served the greater good, only history will reveal.
Canada's best performance to make our relationship look fake. would they include the honest truth about Aboriginal People? that to this society we are not considered people, and that the treaties, Which you are all a part of, are no where near being honoured? That life for First Nations people here isn't as magical and pretend as they make it seem? A Country built on Theft, Slavery, Murder and Stolen Land!!! they are not doing anything for our People and never will unless it makes them look good
Yet another video, in effort to make Canada look like they are treating their First Nations people excellent. I am Cree First Nation and this fake, happy, type of event is false. The people participating in this video were paid to make look happy. Franchised, and sold as a commodity only for the olympics. They will dare not say what is really going on here, or for that matter, what went on here...There are thousands and thousands of people, like me, that would agree with what im saying...this is
the olympics led to another theft of land just like when they stole all other land from Indigenous people. they say the olympics are a good thing then why does it make canada do bad things for this so called good thing ?
I am a member of the Hopi and Navajo Nations and capitalism has ALWAYS AND CONTINUES TO KILL NATIVE PEOPLES. THE OLYMPICS IS TOKENIZING NATIVE PEOPLES...FUCK THE OLYMPICS!!
The Lil Wat are wonderful neighbours in Pemberton Valley and are very very involved with the Games. Anyone who wants their breath taken away, go visit Aboriginal House in Whistler centre. It is just so very amazing!
I´m so happy that the local four nations have been so pro active and involved for the betterment of everyone.
Were you involved in putting the video together pinklilwat? Why is there no representation of Lil'wat culture in the video? Why is it heavy with Squamish culture? Aren't the Four Host Nations supposed to be represented in the video.
There are Four Host Nations involved in the partnership. Why does the video not reflect that?
It is a nice video. But, as someone who has studied anthropology, I've learned that when documenting cultures, it is very important to represent people, groups, or events with all of the correct facts.
The culture of Native people has been mis-represented throughout history.
One of the Four Host Nations members, the Lil'wat culture is not portrayed in the video at all.
I still think that there is time to update the video with a few clips from the Lil'wat traditional culture.
note to the world: First Nations as a whole, are not the "happy family" that this tries to show. There are many members that need help because several issues.
i wish the olympics would help solve these issues not hide them with a fancy video and a fake smile.
But im proud that we have community members that can become leaders and not followers.
all most a repeat of expo 86 when certain families benefited from it. It is no difference here with 2010 olympics. Be nice to have other members of the nation to be in the video. Not always the same people. I am happy that the world is coming to visit us.
Not bad, but would like to see our nation represented by other nation members and not family members of those that are in key positions working for the olympics.

There is a movement of peace in this stunning video and its portrayal of a a wonderful and diverse culture.
A culture which I hope our world is moving on and growing up enough to embrace.
One world, many creeds, many tribes, many cultures all under ONE sun..
Time we all grew away from prejudice and ignorance.
Thank you for this post.....Indeed outstanding.
Peace...

Thank you Lil'wat Nation Admin for responding:
"Lil'wat Nation Hi Tat'Ush. We have been following up with FHFN ourselves.
We have learned that a second version of the video was made to address your very real concerns.
We are working on accessing this copy and having it posted on YouTube.

I know that FHFN have received your comments because I sent them in. It's just taking a while to get a satisfactory resolution.
Please know that you are being heard. The wheels are just turning in every direction at once these days!"
I appreciate the response and the solution :)

Im not worried about Lilwat not being showed enough in this Olympic video Because I know we are beautiful and strong people
we dont need a four host first nation to show case us.
we were here before the olympics and will be here after.
Lilwat nation is a strong nation. we know we are
we have beautiful and a unique culture with powerful songs and dances
Lilwat knows that
thats what matters
The video is wicked though.

Where are the Lil'wat Drummers, Singers and Dancers?
Where is the cultural representation from Lil'wat?
You show two Squamish Chiefs. Where are the other 3 Host Chiefs?
Doesn't sound like an Olympic partnership to me at all.
Who was in charge of creating the video?
The Lil'wat have a very strong, beautiful culture. Beautiful songs. Beautiful dances.
This video needs to be re-done to include the Lil'wat culture.
There is still time to get it done before the Olympics.
