Dolly is a songwriter and fans of these singers may think they sang it better, but as a fan of Dolly, the singer and the songwriter, I hear it straight from her heart and noone can top that, ever. He sings this wonderfully but I was curious and went on youtube to see Dolly Parton sing her own song. Her version is more grownup and believable. I'm 38 years old. I can truly say for myself that "life's a mill and I've been through it". So can Dolly I'm sure. But it's hard for me to believe a 17 year old when they sing this. People don't realize that the contestants have to change the renditions of the songs into their own. It's not an easy thing to do and i think Archie is great at doing that. One of the reasons why he made it so far in the competition cuz he made his renditions more modern for the audience and what suits him as an artist and he was able to sell them.
