#3 PS3 using uLaunchelf with SwapMagic Part 2.

hi, when i got into the unlaunch.elf menu, when i click mass I got nothing inside. I'm using ulaunch.elf 4.39. My other files are in the root named regularly. Im trying to play and test mobile suit gundam seed destiny generation ce iso.

are you using the 4.39 that I put the link for? The normal ulaunch.elf s usb drivers don´t work on the ps3.

If your using the one I put a link for then that means your usb device isn´t compatible with the usb drivers that work on the ps3. if that´s the problem there´s not to much we can do about that. except to try another usb device.. I´m pretty positive I used all the same usb drivers but you can also try the links for 4.38 or 4.30

No but you need one of the old ps3s that´s ps2 compatible. you also need an original SwapMagic disc and a compatible usb device

theres actually a way to launch Homebrew w/o Swapmagic. but it requires you open the top half of the PS3 case and top half of the drive. let it read an High TOC PS2 Disc for DVD Discs or High TOC PS2 CD (the older CD based versions of Codebreaker will do :P) swap for the homebrew'd disc and bingo.

True. Your method will also allow ps2 non compatible ps3s tp play ps1 backups and ps1 homebrew.

alright, i followed all the steps, i was able to boot up launchelf no problem and copy the saves over, but when i looked at my virtual memory card on the PS3, it said all of the data was corrupt, did i not transfer them correctly or are the files incorrect?

Hi, you need the SWAPMAGIC original discs and a compatible usb device. make a folder named SWAPMAGIC and put it on the root of the usb device. download uLaunch.elf from the link and rename it to SMBOOT0.ELF and put it inside the SWAPMAGIC folder. If you have SM 3.6 plus, press up and L1 to boot uLaunch.elf

Interesting. Glad someone is posting dev vids. I do however think this would be a lot easier to follow if you had a capture card instead of webcaming your TV. Just a suggestion.

really? because i'm getting a ps3 ina few weeks and I have a few imports and a swap magic 3.6 with slide tools and I'd love to play all my ps2 games and imports on a ps3 could you tell me how

The problem is that new ps3´s are not ps2 compatible. only the ps3´s with 4 usb ports are ps2 compatible.
