Senator DeMint is an American patriot. He knows that a strong America is good for the world. He takes on the languid left with the heart of a champion!
@MiHiVidz I'd say good point, unforgivably, Social Security is a massive pyramid scheme. The rich don't want to be involved in that. In other words its not their responsibility. I'm going to get nothing from SS - inherent of a pyramid scheme.
@wog222 Social Security is an INSURANCE POLICY, no matter how many times you haters say it's a ponzi scheme. You pay car insurance, right? If you get into an accident, you get paid. Your payments also help out those who also have a policy and they got into a wreck.
In your bent, ugly world, people would be starving in the streets, just like it was in Midieval times. Sorry, but we are NOT going back to the days of Lords and Kings ruling over serfs and slaves.
@MiHiVidz car insurance pays ONLY on accidents! Social Security is not insurance. Hitting 65 years of age is not an accident. You equating private car insurance with the government SS system that has to pay out to everyone in the system that hits 65.
Yes, I pay car insurance and also SS. One of them works well and one of them has major problems.
Should the rich pay for my car insurance and pay for my SS?
@wog222 Admit it. You WANT people to have their Social Security taken away. You WANT the old and the disabled to be homeless and starving in the gutter. It gives ghouls like you something to look down on and hate. FDR's New Deal saved millions from a horrible fate, and that drives a sadist like you nuts day and night.
@MiHiVidz If you have $20 or 20 million dollars in your pocket, it not mine to take if I only have $1 in my pocket ,or any amount. Your money or anyone's money is not mine to take. I do want SS to be their when I need it, so I don't want it to go away. Also, your sadist/hate/ghouls comments really put me in my place.
@MiHiVidz How about getting their butts out of bed in the morning and getting to work? Putting off fun and vacations for years while they build the nest egg? Putting all their savings on the line, and putting in 100 hr weeks, in order to start their business?
Yeah. Just like all those people who fell for the swindlers at Enron. Guess what those victims had left to fall back on when Ken Lay ran off with their nest egg money?
Social Security! Not much, but it was guaranteed.
It was there for them when all else was unreliable and failed them utterly.
"Saving up for their nest egg" is impossible in these days of swindlers. We had The Great Depression (and our current Depression) because the banks and the stock market cannot be trusted.
@MiHiVidz You need to read a newspaper, a history book, ...something. Ken Lay was protected by the Bush family and the Clinton administration right up to the end. Enron was a corporation (meaning a public-private partnership) and dealt exclusively with government contracts in an economic sector that is highly regulated. (Btw, regulated in way that you don't like is not the same thing as UNregulated.)
In your world does nobody deserve what they have earned?
@MiHiVidz Did you know that the Fed took over the money, and the income tax was begun, way back in 1913? And that the Great Depression didn't happen until nearly two decades later?
I do agree that it is harder and harder to save for the future. Half of every dollar is taken taxes and the other half is devalued by the Fed. Government action in the economy creates bubbles that cost millions. And to top it off congress bailed out banks by taking it from us. Nobody should be trusted.
Run for president DeMint...my only concern is your foreign policy!

Tell me something. What have been the "sacrifices" that the filthy rich have made to help out in this country?
One thing! Just name me ONE solitary thing!
Starving the elderly and disabled who need their Social Security so that rich people can get more money is beyond a crime against humanity.

@MiHiVidz Because they EARNED the money and the government does not have the right to "Take money that I earned and give it to someone else"
