Let me understand this, she refuses to go through the metal detector due to her, "pacemaker equivilant" and then changes her mind when she is told she will be patted down?
Then she states, "I've given no due cause to give up my Constitutional rights." Actually, when you approach the security checkpoint there are big signs stating you are giving implied consent to the Fourth Amendment, and once you start you can't turn back. So she is WRONG on this issue.

A friend of our family and his wife came over from Europe-He had terminal cancer and medicine. When he arrived with interferon prescribed for him-he had ALL paperwork in order-and proceeded to have them do cavity searches and actually destroyed much of his medicine and he had all legal paperwork to bring it with him-After they left(he suffered the entire "vacation" here-and swore he would never return here due to their incompetence. He is now dead-I know of other people(who ought to sue)
It will be interesting to see where things are 10 years from now. Maybe a terrorist will set off a bomb at City hall and you will have to be searched before you go in to pay your property tax. Why do people cry and complain about the process at the airport? Go to israel and they can do so many more things that are considered "unconstitutional". In other countries, if you even look of a certain ethnic backround or religion, they can take out of line and search you regardless of the reason. We're so spoiled here in america and think just a pat-down is some sort of molestation game. If they didn't check people, they can hide stuff that sometimes scanners don't pick up.

Then she states, "I've given no due cause to give up my Constitutional rights." Actually, when you approach the security checkpoint there are big signs stating you are giving implied consent to the Fourth Amendment, and once you start you can't turn back. So she is WRONG on this issue.

A friend of our family and his wife came over from Europe-He had terminal cancer and medicine. When he arrived with interferon prescribed for him-he had ALL paperwork in order-and proceeded to have them do cavity searches and actually destroyed much of his medicine and he had all legal paperwork to bring it with him-After they left(he suffered the entire "vacation" here-and swore he would never return here due to their incompetence. It will be interesting to see where things are 10 years from now. Maybe a terrorist will set off a bomb at City hall and you will have to be searched before you go in to pay your property tax. Then at a mall, so you will be searched before you can enter, then on a subway, then at a movie theatre. Where does it end? being handcuffed and detained is not the same as being arrested ... the report doesn't say whether she has been charged with a crime. maybe she was successful in refusing the pat-down. last i heard those who refuse the pat-down are subject to being fined, and local police have threated to detain them as "terror suspects" but that is not the same as being "arrested"
