As you can see I'm in no way shape or form prepared to knee drag on the streets.. no leathers and not on a track. It's stupid to push the limits on the street. I save that for the track.
You also have to take into account what times you're running as well. The tires I had on the bike were conti sport touring tires. I didn't have enough faith in those because of the fact that they were ready to be replaced and they aren't designed to give you maximum lean angle.
I have a 2003 r6 with pirelli diablo corsa 3`s.they stick well but take some time to warm up.Maybe i`m not riding hard enough to get much heat into them.
They are Continentals. I'm not sure what type but I know they are sport touring. I do a lot of commuting. When we took these vids it was a good 10 minute ride to get there so it gave me plenty of time to get the tires warm.
I just ordered Bridgestone Battlax BT-012's yesterday (another sport touring) I hope they stick really well. At least as good as these do. I'd like to get more mileage out of them. We will see though.
Warming up the tires is easy. Just accelerate hard, and then brake hard.
Do this for a good couple of minutes and you will be good to go on the tires. Most people think swerving warms them up, but this is false. All that does is cleans them off.
sick bike, if you work on your body position in the corners you can get that bike lower and get rid of those chicken strips

Southern Illinois. Just some highways close to town. Not really any good twisty roads without a couple of hours commute.

I'm about 15 - 20 minutes away from some decent roads. Conneticut is a small state.. Dragstrips and tracks are still hours away.

I usually warm my tires up riding around town.
