ALL the Law and the Prophets is fulfilled in Christ and if we are in Him we are complete in Him (Col 2:10) and a righteousness APART from the Law is revealed through us (Rom 6:14). The law is written on our hearts Jer 31; not on stone or in a book! (2 Cor 3) The result? A change of attitude and behaviour which fulfills all the righteous demands of the Law. I like pastor Doug, and it's terrific that he speaks of keeping the Sabbath, but remember: one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of All, and one Lord Jesus Christ. Christ prayed that his brethren would all be one, and even made it a commandment.
I am an independent minister in the Philippines who seeks truth alone no matter what the cost!!! I believe in keeping the Sabbath because it is 100% biblical, but just keeping one of Gods laws while breaking others is just as bad! Do you see that huge Image of Christ on the wall of pastor Doug’s church? Is this not breaking one of the ten commands?
The Sabbath is holy, but that doesn't make it a day for assembly, on the contrary a day of rest away from assembly. See exodus 16:29. Biblically, it seems that the only real Christian day for worship is Sunday or the first day of the week. There's just no where in scripture showing that the weekly Sabbath was intended for worship.

His custom as what? An Israelite. Another custom of his was to head up to Jerusalem once a year for the passover. He had a number of customs as an Israelite. The gentiles didn't go up once a year to Jerusalem.
Where does the bible say we are commanded to worship on the Sabbath?. It's nowhere in the bible. The Sabbath commandment was for observance & rest, not worship. It evolved into a worship day through custom and tradition, but not commandment. On the very first Sabbath the people were told to stay in their homes, not go out for assembly. That's why Jesus stayed in the tomb on the Sabbath. He waited for the First day to rise and assemble with his brethren.

We've seen circumcision and sacrifices being kept by man before Moses, but why was the sabbath never shown as having been kept by man before. Surely it plays an important roll enough to be revealed eh? If Adam kept it, why wasn't Moses inclined to write that God and Adam rested?
Instead we see the bible say it was revealed to Moses, and the rest of the scriptures back up this claim.

Read Genesis 2:2-3 "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. I hope this is clear. But again the choice is yours.
Are you against God because you believe circumcision is of a spiritual nature and not physical anymore? I believe that the sabbath is only found in Christ when he makes you whole, just as when God completed the world. You are only in true rest when He completes you through faith in him:)

@iramutiara But God did not give the sabbath to adam and other patriaches before during these times unti to Mont Sinai. Ther is no teachiing of Sabbat observance in the New Test, only the Old Test would back up sabbath teaching.
All these texts don't teach us to observe the sabbath. No verse in New testament says "Remember to keep the 7th day holy". The N.T backs up the 9 commandments here

There was a man who despised Seventh - day Adventists and wanted to proved them wrong for keeping the 7th day Sabbath instead of Sunday. After a desperate search of the Scriptures he found no such change. He turned to the history books to see how Sunday became the Christian day of worship. He found the truth. He found that the Catholic Church made the change. I wish everyone will do like that man and search the truth for themselves. If you truly the Lord you do the same.
The atheist because of the sense of importance is not really in a good position to contemplate the realities of the existence of God but so too is the Christian in a position that is not a good place to realise the necessity to keep the Sabbath holy on the 7th day because the sense of importance precludes him or her from doing so. Adam was not a Jew, so Jews were not the only people commanded to keep the Sabbath; therefore, everyone is commanded to keep the Sabbath. An what about Acts 15? Further proof. sabbath is saturday, but gentiles are not sinning with the sun God on sunday, they in the bible are clearly shown having a church service on a sunday. the commandment is for REST. our pagan callender shows gods for each day of the week including saturn for saturday. there are alot of things i like about Doug, i just hope he could realize the NIV text is currupt and not the word of God but catholic. @Imaginefree69 The Bronze Age existed in the BC, and Romans was written well after that. We are all under the law which was written on our hearts (our conscience), which no amount of education can save or exempt you from. The Bible and its "so-called archaic religion" only helps to bring that into better focus and to help us attain true happiness and perfection in Him. Education only strengthens and uplifts His Word.
Bottomline is, if you want to keep the 7th day Sabbath holy as God required...then obey ALL that it says about it. That includes putting people to death for not keeping it (Num 15/Exodus 31). You cant cherry pick only the happy things about the Sabbath. If you believe that you need to keep it according to the Law...then keep it according to the law.

I could easily see them doing the Lord's Supper on the sunday due to it being the day after the Sabbath and the sSabbath was a holy day to be kept. No where in the bible does it say that the day had been changed. It is like if some people from the future would ook at a limited information of our past and would say "they worshiped on wednesdays! the day to rest must be that one" remember matthew 5:17-20... the commandments were perfect at first as well as will be at the end. the calender days have not really changed since the beginning of time, we still follow the same pattern. Read Genesis. An evening and a day were considered 1 whole day. God worked 6 days and rested on the 7th. The pope changed the sabbath from saturday to sunday. Sunday is still the first day of the week. saturday is the seventh.

My husband and son are non believers and I have come to the Sabbath truth only a year or so.I can not make the rest of my family inside our home to keep the Sabbath. I my self do keep Sabbath .Will God be angry wit me if the rest of my family do not?

Gen 2 contains no command for anyone to keep a Sabbath. The FIRST command to keep a Sabbath appears in Exodus 16, and that command was given to Israel and Israel alone.

You are absolutely correct, however, since God blessed the seventh day (before there was a Hebrew), and sanctified it (at creation), that is reason enough for someone (at least myself) who is looking to have a deep intimate relationship with God to honor something that He made Holy. If you chose not to keep it Holy, then you can explain it to Him at the Judgment.
Let it be disputed - In Matthew Jesus teaches the disciples (those who are to spread the gospel) Matt 24:20 "And pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath." Evidently he still expected people to be observing the Sabbath when the Anti-Christ sets up the Abomination of Desolation in the rebuilt temple. And don't tell me it's just for the Jews in Jerusalem at that time, the disciples were to teach this to the world not just those who would not accept Christ in the last days.

Jesus was speaking to the Disciples as "YOU" because those were the ones he was addressing it to. But we are all to be disciples, so therefore, these disciples are OUR example. The context of Matthew 24 is "dual application". Verse 21 mentions a tribulation more than "ever shall be" (there have been tribulations greater than Jerusalem on Christians)... verse 27, 30, 37, and 39 speak of "Jesus coming in the clouds of heaven". Has Jesus come in the clouds of heaven yet?
When Jesus is speaking he speaks to those present and in the future. The bible is a testimony for all times. We have to always look deeper. Jesus is saying if ever you are persecuted for your believes this day, tomorrow or in the future , pray you do not have to flee on the sabbath day or in winter.
The disciples SAW the Abomination of Desolation occur in THEIR DAY!!!!!!!..Pay close attention to all the personal pronouns of YOU you you..Jesus was speaking directly to his Apostles..not you or me or anyone in 2009..How were they to know then the AOD would occur?..He told them in Luke 21:20 And when ye{disciples] shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

In Matthew 5, Jesus specifically says that heaven and earth will pass away before any part of the law will change. The sabbath commandment is part of the law, so how is it that you think that it would have changed? Or do you believe that Jesus was wrong when he said that the law would not change?
I think the more important question here is, "Where are New Testament, New Covenant Gentiles ever taught NOT to observe the Jewish Sabbath?" Aside from that the Sabbath is not just for the Jews, it is for all of creation.
God Himself wrote the commandments with His finger on stone tablets and COMMANDED that they be followed. If he changed his mind or made a stipulation that it was only for the Jews, you think He would have put that in the Bible... somewhere. Let me know when you find that verse.

The Saviour kept the Sabbath, and taught His disciples to keep it. He knew how it should be kept, for He Himself had made it holy. The Jewish teachers had made many rules about the way to keep the Sabbath, and they wanted every one to obey their rules. So they watched the Saviour, to see what He would do.

I am an independent minister in the Philippines who seeks truth alone no matter what the cost!!! I believe in keeping the Sabbath because it is 100% biblical, but just keeping one of Gods laws while breaking others is just as bad! Do you see that huge Image of Christ on the wall of pastor Doug’s church? Is this not breaking one of the ten commands?

The Sabbath is holy, but that doesn't make it a day for assembly, on the contrary a day of rest away from assembly. See exodus 16:29. Biblically, it seems that the only real Christian day for worship is Sunday or the first day of the week. There's just no where in scripture showing that the weekly Sabbath was intended for worship.

His custom as what? An Israelite. Another custom of his was to head up to Jerusalem once a year for the passover. He had a number of customs as an Israelite. The gentiles didn't go up once a year to Jerusalem.

Where does the bible say we are commanded to worship on the Sabbath?. It's nowhere in the bible. The Sabbath commandment was for observance & rest, not worship. It evolved into a worship day through custom and tradition, but not commandment. On the very first Sabbath the people were told to stay in their homes, not go out for assembly. That's why Jesus stayed in the tomb on the Sabbath. He waited for the First day to rise and assemble with his brethren.

We've seen circumcision and sacrifices being kept by man before Moses, but why was the sabbath never shown as having been kept by man before. Surely it plays an important roll enough to be revealed eh? If Adam kept it, why wasn't Moses inclined to write that God and Adam rested?
Instead we see the bible say it was revealed to Moses, and the rest of the scriptures back up this claim.

Read Genesis 2:2-3 "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. I hope this is clear. But again the choice is yours.

There was a man who despised Seventh - day Adventists and wanted to proved them wrong for keeping the 7th day Sabbath instead of Sunday. After a desperate search of the Scriptures he found no such change. He turned to the history books to see how Sunday became the Christian day of worship. He found the truth. sabbath is saturday, but gentiles are not sinning with the sun God on sunday, they in the bible are clearly shown having a church service on a sunday. the commandment is for REST. our pagan callender shows gods for each day of the week including saturn for saturday. there are alot of things i like about Doug, i just hope he could realize the NIV text is currupt and not the word of God but catholic. Bottomline is, if you want to keep the 7th day Sabbath holy as God required...then obey ALL that it says about it. That includes putting people to death for not keeping it (Num 15/Exodus 31). You cant cherry pick only the happy things about the Sabbath. If you believe that you need to keep it according to the Law...then keep it according to the law.

Jesus did not keep the burdens that the Pharisees had put on however, Jesus did not sin ever, to break the commandments of Jesus would be sin. So Jesus honored God and the Commandment of keeping the Sabbath. =) So conclusion, Jesus came to show us how to keep the Commandments of God, including the Sabbath.

I could easily see them doing the Lord's Supper on the sunday due to it being the day after the Sabbath and the sSabbath was a holy day to be kept. No where in the bible does it say that the day had been changed. It is like if some people from the future would ook at a limited information of our past and would say "they worshiped on wednesdays! the day to rest must be that one" remember matthew 5:17-20... the commandments were perfect at first as well as will be at the end. the calender days have not really changed since the beginning of time, we still follow the same pattern. Read Genesis. An evening and a day were considered 1 whole day. God worked 6 days and rested on the 7th. The pope changed the sabbath from saturday to sunday. Sunday is still the first day of the week. saturday is the seventh.

Jesus said In John 14:15, If you love me, keep my Commandments. 1 John 2:4, He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his Commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." Revelation 12:17 "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." I never saw the third tablet of the Ten Commandments that said "Ye shall forget that fourth commandment and change it to Sunday."

@babiinene Keeping the Sabbath was not just commanded to Israel. God also made this law since he created the Earth and rested on the Sabbath. Adam and Eve were even commanded to keep this Law and they were NOT Israelites/Jews...The command is to every one. If you want to keep it, rest, and worship from Friday sun down to Saturday sun down

Satan's chief agent in bringing about the rejection of the fourth commandment, and the institution of the first day of the week as a day of rest, has been the Roman Catholic Church. The Roman Catholic Church does not deny the part she has acted in this change, but makes a boast of her power as shown in the change which she has brought about in the world. Papists acknowledge that the Bible gives no sanction to this change, and that Protestants have no Scriptural authority for Sunday worship.

God forbid: yea, we establish the law" (Romans 3:31). The new covenant promise is "I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them" (Heb. 10:16). The Sabbath was made for a round world, and therefore obedience is required of the people that are in perfect consistency with the Lord's created world.

The Sabbath was given to all mankind to commemorate the work of creation. Notice 'To All Mankind'. If you read Bible Genesis 2:1-3 (3.And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.) It was before Israel or any other nation exist on earth.

Gen 2 contains no command for anyone to keep a Sabbath. The FIRST command to keep a Sabbath appears in Exodus 16, and that command was given to Israel and Israel alone.
This cannot be disputed.

You are absolutely correct, however, since God blessed the seventh day (before there was a Hebrew), and sanctified it (at creation), that is reason enough for someone (at least myself) who is looking to have a deep intimate relationship with God to honor something that He made Holy. If you chose not to keep it Holy, then you can explain it to Him at the Judgment.

Let it be disputed - In Matthew Jesus teaches the disciples (those who are to spread the gospel) Matt 24:20 "And pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath." Evidently he still expected people to be observing the Sabbath when the Anti-Christ sets up the Abomination of Desolation in the rebuilt temple. And don't tell me it's just for the Jews in Jerusalem at that time, the disciples were to teach this to the world not just those who would not accept Christ in the last days.

Little Horn equals Papal Power that grows out of Rome.
Very simple, very straightforward.

The Little Horn grows "out" of the 4th Beast. Most Bible scholars in the past have ascribed the 4th Beast as the 4th Kingdom. If you count from Babylon, you have Babylon (Lion), Medo-Persia (Bear), Greece (Leapard), and Rome (Dragon-like Beast). Very simple and concise. The Catholic Church grew "out" of Rome. In fact, if you look on the map, the Vatican is in Italy last time I checked.

Jesus was speaking to the Disciples as "YOU" because those were the ones he was addressing it to. But we are all to be disciples, so therefore, these disciples are OUR example. The context of Matthew 24 is "dual application". Verse 21 mentions a tribulation more than "ever shall be" (there have been tribulations greater than Jerusalem on Christians)... verse 27, 30, 37, and 39 speak of "Jesus coming in the clouds of heaven". Has Jesus come in the clouds of heaven yet?

When Jesus is speaking he speaks to those present and in the future. The bible is a testimony for all times. We have to always look deeper. Jesus is saying if ever you are persecuted for your believes this day, tomorrow or in the future , pray you do not have to flee on the sabbath day or in winter.

The disciples SAW the Abomination of Desolation occur in THEIR DAY!!!!!!!..Pay close attention to all the personal pronouns of YOU you you..Jesus was speaking directly to his Apostles..not you or me or anyone in 2009..How were they to know then the AOD would occur?..He told them in Luke 21:20 And when ye{disciples] shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

In Matthew 5, Jesus specifically says that heaven and earth will pass away before any part of the law will change. The sabbath commandment is part of the law, so how is it that you think that it would have changed? Or do you believe that Jesus was wrong when he said that the law would not change?

I think the more important question here is, "Where are New Testament, New Covenant Gentiles ever taught NOT to observe the Jewish Sabbath?" Aside from that the Sabbath is not just for the Jews, it is for all of creation.
God Himself wrote the commandments with His finger on stone tablets and COMMANDED that they be followed. If he changed his mind or made a stipulation that it was only for the Jews, you think He would have put that in the Bible... somewhere. Let me know when you find that verse.

The Saviour kept the Sabbath, and taught His disciples to keep it. He knew how it should be kept, for He Himself had made it holy. The Jewish teachers had made many rules about the way to keep the Sabbath, and they wanted every one to obey their rules. So they watched the Saviour, to see what He would do.
