It's wonderful to see this after so many years. This production started life at Scottish Opera in 1980 directed by David Poutney and designed by the wonderful Maria Bjornsen. I was part of that original production as Lapak, the dog, and my wife as pattern cutter at Scottish Opera, was instrumental in turning Maria's designs into reality. She has always said that Maria was her favourite designer. Maria's early death was a great loss.
