I was getting kinda bored with punk rock and hardcore.. Then I saw Wildstyle and was like, 'Look at THAT shit!' Back then we heard about this thing called 'breaking'.. think I even saw a pic in Rolling Stone(?)..but actually seeing it for the first time was just mesmerising.
@magicarpokemon Nope. This is the 12" single cover, no comic included. Still in my collection since 83. I keep looking for somebody to post the dub off the B-side, it's ill.
@CubsFan2812 Such a different world back then. Had to be alert and on your game. I knew people, so I was good, but most of my friends wouldn't even try it. But that's when gangs were getting off the street, thanks to Bambaataa and others. Zulu Nation!
January 1984. Just two weeks prior to me being transfered to I.S. 74 from I.S. 52,I fell in love with this joint. That's why my uncle went out and brought it afterwards.
@SuperLAFWorld Yeah, both versions are awesome in their own ways. RATM did a very good job at taking already excellent songs and making them sound great in a completely different way.
Dedicated to all those Mother fuckers out there listening to jive like Olly Murs and Justin Beiber
