I wish I would have seen this video before I layed my cork, I marked the center line of the track instead and now the glued down roadbed doesn't match when Im laying track over it even though I thought I was carefull, anyway, how do you secure the track to the roadbed?
To secure the track to the road bed i bought a pinvise and a small drill bit becuase im working with atlas code 55 and id doesnt come pre drilled. But i drilled them out then used little spikes to secure it, and once you ballast the solution you used to hold the ballast in will further secure your track. Im hoping to start on a new layout soon i came up with a better idea for a 4'x8' layout.
@atwa2neon4staind i have a large n scale point to point layout. i prefer not to seal down my turnouts, incase i need to replace them or maintain them.
I didnt cut around any of the turnouts yet but i would assume you would want to set your angle of the track coming of the cork roadbed for the track the turnout is in. once you cut ur angle in the piece your installing you would want to bevel the end matching up to the preexisting road bet were the turnout is at. You would just bevel it back so it would lay right on top of the bevel out on the preexisiting roadbed.
i use hot glue gun no pins just a couple of seconds cause i like to hit a couple things on the layout in a day insted of just track

I laid a level on the cork and let it dry to make sure the cork was perfectly flat
