I am not being racist but why do most black hip-hop/r&b drummers use DW Drums?

It's the Tone doc, DW drums tends to attunate the low note.

The tend to have more bottom (A deep low Resonant sound)

This sound fits great with Hip-hop and R&B gigs.

Actually sibat17, it has to do more with the fact that DW wants as much exposure as they can get....Hip-Hop is hot now...It's the same marketing model that Tommy Hilfinger used. Also, I found that these guys get a freebies DW and they just take the Drums because they're free or deeply discounted and not because of tone...I mean really...can you tell the difference between a DW or Sonor 22" maple bass drums tune the to low C with G2's.....both create a deep low end....

No I can't tell the difference.....and I have an artist endorsement. I play a Designer Sonor Setup with 22" Kick and I do indeed tune to low C....But like most Hip Hop drummers, I got my kit because my tour was national not because Sonor gave me great tone....I don't think anyone could tell the difference..especially after gating, EQing, compression, and mixing...not to mention...most drummer wear ear monitors..that takes tone right out of the equation...!!!! Can You tell?????

mmm.. i don't even think that's a very true generalization. i can't say i've researched it or anything, but if you flip through a modern drummer magazine and look at the ads there's a lot of hip hop/r&b drummers endorsed by a lot of different companies. pdp, yamaha, pearl, and tama all spring to mind..
