@AflamedValkyrie No, I'm not "doing it wrong". Come on. Obviously you can use whatever fabric you want. I just wanted to show a smart way to use fabric from an old sweater instead of throwing it away. Better to put stuff to use.
@AflamedValkyrie There is no right way. There are tons of different ways to sew any piece of clothing. This is just one way to sew one particular thing. If you don't want to sew sleeves using my method, then don't.
@SoraAki100 I think they're just called hole punchers. I don't have the thing in front of me right now, but I don't recall it having a more advanced name than that. Maybe you can google "fabric hole puncher"?
I was thinking of using black 'knee-high' panty hose as "gloves" by poking holes in for the fingers, what do you think about that? Would that look goofy or gothy? I have a long, straight black gown from party city/mens costume actually (fits me better), and several gothy jewelry items. I'm also gonna do red lipstick with black lip liner. I like the goth look very much but live in the "bible belt" - so have to temper it to the hot/tropical weather and the community (and my age...)!
Arent you a smart and reative girl! You did a very nice job! I'm a mom, age 46, 3 kids, looking initially for a goth halloween costume (I was originally searching for flaired sleeves in the search enging when your video came up), but this is so pretty i think it's for regular wear. I hope you make more videos, you are just TOO creative! Good job! :) I think this could do very nicely for an entire sleeve, i.e. one that is attached to the shirt. It looks really pretty.
@cynthiakrueger1 Wow, thanks! :) I totally think this could work for a whole sleeve, but the lacing could get a bit tricky by the elbow since it needs to be really flexible.
@KittyMewsick Thanks! No, so far it's a pretty small group, but you're all awesome and I'd rather have a small group of followers that I like than a huge group, just for the numbers.
YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!
You don't have to destroy your clothes to make these gloves....
