  • I have 2 baritone ukes. 3 soprano ukes. and a banjo uke. One, I had to climb into a dumpster to get. It was busted and took a week to glue it back together. My favorite came from an antique store. It was painted black back in the 1930's and has a really old Phillips 66 sticker on the back. It's inscribed "Rollin Godfrey March 1934" and is fun to play. I'd like to think Rollin was related to Arthur Godfrey, but he's probably not. Fun playing though. wish I could get a higher end uke someday.

  • @clockguy2 sweet! sounds like you've got a nice collection.

  • I've just been playing three months. I have three ukuleles at the moment, but a Fluke is being built for me. I have a Mahalo soprano, a Makala dolphin soprano (all-wood-laminate, which sounds surprisingly sweet), and a cigar box soprano made by WhenDogsSing.

  • I really like those samples lol. I only have a Hilo and a Lanikai. Not much of a hoarder yet. :D

  • you can win just by showing your uke and telling stories!

  • i need to start makin some stories :B

i'm still pretty new. i'll love to hear others..

  • First Ukulele I got was a Ohana Vita. I loved the clapping seals sound holes and the fact it was based on a model used by Roy Smeck.

It was being sold as a kids starter pack and since I had never played Uke before I thought a kids uke might be just right for me:-)

I then got a Yellow Mahalo with the paint all blistering. got it so I could play along with my grandsons. I have now given it away and replaced it with a Skylark which I thought was a tenor but some say is a baritone.

    I am a nube

  • it sounds like you have a lot of good stories you could tell!

  • some busy days it would only be for a minute right before bed, but i always touched the uke once a day! i'm back on track and have made it a very ingrained habit to play everyday now.

i feel bad for people to when they don't play an instrument too. while i don't long for many things that occurred in the past, music making as a community event where almost everyone participated is something i hope will come back in to fashion.

  • Cool contest!

  • bring on the uke parade!

  • I like the ukulele! Thats a cool story behind it. I cant believe you only missed one day! Thats dedication. Happy 1 year :)

  • thanks man! do you play?

  • Im only a beginner at piano. But I love listening to others play
