Everyone is going on about sonic being in a car, the official reason he is in a car is because sumo were having trouble getting his drifting to work on foot in the game engine, yes they did try it but they were running out of time so they put him in a car. they also gave a gimmick reason saying that he needs to be in a car to make the race fair.

@AzureSapphirexxx What do you mean? If you mean kart racing, there's Madagascar Kartz which isn't that good but there's also ModNation Racers which is gonna be epic when it comes out. It's probably gonna beat all other kart racers

@joevictor53 I played the beta, and apart from the loading glitches it's indeed a nice game. But it's really 'put together' and not really created. They brought it ideas from different games, and put in together in this game. I liked it, but think SAR is way more fun.

@kenjuma The loading glitches and camera angles have been fixed for the proper game. Loads of people complained about it. I understand what you're saying but in that sense, it's kind of the same with ASR. Every game of this type is gonna have elements from previous games. The thing I like about MNR is just the customisation. I mean the characters alone can be changed to look like characters you know from other places, let alone the cars and tracks. I love ASR but I prefer MNR

Sonic's car is not slow, the person who is playing in the video is not very good. He's not drift boosting or anything. I played the demo, this game reminds me of Mario Kart and Crash Team Racing. But it has better graphics, better soundtrack, it is faster, yet equally fun. And its coming out for all 3 consoles I think, so every console fanboy gets a copy.

It does look rehashed judging by that low rez video. Actually I have Mario Kart for the wii. I like it too. BUT.... I only played the Sonic Alstars racing demo for ps3. AND I have to say Sonic Allstars Racing was BETTER in every area. Gameplay, drift boosting, tracks, details, graphics, music, etc. The only gripe I have is that it doesn't have Cream.

can't help you there, although i will be getting it for the ps3, as the wii is hackable it's gonna be easy to cheat on it. i have hacked my wii to play backups off a usb but i don't cheat and i despise cheaters, that's why for me, it's a PS3 purchase.

i'm also gonna try the DS version too.

its not really a rip off. they were going 2 have some characters (sonic, shadow) on foot but this version was said to be not fun and the drift wouldnt work with characters on foot. so they said they would hav all of them in cars, bikes and other stuf. so it has sum bits alot like mario kart but its not a rip off. all kart racing games have karts and items and everything mario kart has.

You are sadly misinformed. Sega pretty much invented the kart genre with 1988's Power Drift which was released in the arcades. This predates Mario Kart by a few years.

That they like terrible characters and the people who thumbs downed my comment are the primary reason Sonic has turned into such a storm of crap over the years.
