i like how the people that lost want to start a revolution. This is exactly like ancient Rome at the time the republic was destroyed and replaced with a dictatorship. Along the way there was civil war and many deaths. Think about it.
Read the text from the original draft of this health care bill. It is all about government health care.
• Page 16: States that if you have insurance at the time of the bill becoming law and change, you will be required to take a similar plan. If that is not available, you will be required to take the gov option!
This would force many like me onto the public plan within a year because it eliminates the option to shop for competitive insurance. There are only two interests served in this clause: To create a single gov plan and/or to help big insurance company profits skyrocket. In no way does this represent the best interests of the public. Thanks for posting.
The public option was NOT nearly as bad as all the ridiculous insurance mandates that the bill would impose, which woiuld definitely increase costs and raise prices. Yet you guys focus on some fictional "gov't takeover of healthcare." WHY?? Where does the bill say ANYTHING about gov't taking over?
The Dems' public option, which failed in a vote btw so it's not possible to even protest, was hardly akin to socialized medicine. Get a clue, guys.
Look, I'm a libertarian on economic issues, but I'm not a LIAR. And that's what you conservative groups are doing with this idiotic "Stop gov't the takeover of healthcare." There never WAS a plan in any of the current healthcare bills that are seriously being considered for gov't to take over healthcare! The only bill that would do that is Kucinich's HR 676, but no one really gives a shit about that. You guys know you're lying and making shit up, so just be honest.
That's not to say that the Dems' healthcare plan is perfect, but focus your energies on the TRUTH! Oppose the bad parts of it that actually exist. Don't make crap up about "death panels" or "illegals being covered" because you can't come up with a decent intellectual argument otherwise. I'm saying this for your own good because you're really losing credibility with a lot of people with these silly town halls and tea parties that are based on fiction.
These are not paid illiterate ACORN/SEIU losers. These are intelligent, articulate, informed citizens. These folks have the money to take politicians out of office.

• Page 22: Mandates audits of all employers that self-insure!
• Page 29: Admission: your health care will be rationed!
• Page 30: A government committee will decide what treatmen ts and benefits you get (and, unlike an insurer, there will be no appeals process)

Is EVERY plan the other side proposes automatically "government takeover"? I mean, that on its face is an absurd assumption.
