I love you. Mary Me. lol seriously though you spin very well. I've been spinning about a year now. I'm not quite as good as you but I'm catching up XD. Maybe I'll upload a video if I get a camera for Christmas.
You spin really well. It doesn't seem like the music goes with your tempo of spinning. Were you spinning with the same music you dubbed the video with?
Nice skills XD Ima have to steal a few moves from you good stuff!!!! Theres hybrid thingys too that i havent seen you use you should look up hybrids they are fun and cool lookin hey one more step to becoming the ultimate poi master XD
lol, yeah....love what you do. it will come. "how" i move and dynamic spinning really makes mine what it is, and they allways say "the best part is your smile". Not sure if thats the "best" thing but its the essence of love. (lol u kinda remind me of MCP). Look for Mel from russia if you wanna stick to tech. i love techys but you gotta have "something" or it looks "dead" Nemeste
I cant really think of any way to critique this without repeating what other people already said but i feel i have alot of the same issues. Other than that it was an incredible burn and the last 3/4ths of the video really wow'd me with the amount of control you have. And your turns are really graceful, maybe utilize them more as you move around and dont be afraid to face away from the crowd/camera for awhile. Anyways thanks for your upload.
I agree with Elemensce, you are a wonderful spinner and one of my poi idols. But im afraid you show no emotion when you spin. Poi is a very artistic instrument and what people see is not only what patterns you can create, but also how you react yourself. something as simple as a smile can change the way people look at you when you spin. put on music that you really enjoy and just go out there and dance with you poi. don't worry about what tricks you can do just do what you fell and it will come!
I like the technique, but it seems lacking. The lack of movement and emotion in the spin really takes away from the talent that you have. It reminds me of glowstickers at the clubs who just treat everything as moves. Instead of doing one move then the next, try to dance a little more, flow.
thats what you have to say????? when i first began doing poi about 2 years ago, i always dreamed of one day knowing my poi and understanding movement and motion so that i could go BEYOND tricks. that has been the goal from the beginning. and as for right now, this is all i got :)
@tori579@Senorboombox I know that this is water under the bridge now, this comment was made nearly a year ago. But this is not called lacking. Look up some other vids. Tori is safe in her practice, which I have respect for, there's people out there who don't know what they're doing and haven't trained like I, or Tori, or a lot of other people have. Secondly, Tori has a good arm span, her technique utilizes this. Thirdly, TORI IS AWESOME! She's def got the flow art. Do yo thang gurl!
i think you have the same problem i do...you dont move around enough. Im working on it right now, but it seems like when you dance with it, you stop just doing "moves" and it begins to flow better
Routines are not bad if you can keep them spontaneous. :)
I like your spinning and I would focus on finding transitions between the patterns that you perform. Spin one pattern and change only one detail with only one poi at a time. Then reverse it and spin the opposite direction if you have the patience.
It is evident that you're a talented spinner and I enjoy watching you, except I feel some kind of distance between you and your poi. I'm the same way, though. I keep waiting for some sort of expression to be used through the motion of your body in tune with the motion of your poi, as one moving object. The Samurai used to say that the sword is an extension of your arm. Use your poi as an extension of your soul and artistic vision. I'm looking forward to your next videos.
@Elemensce thanks for the compliments. yeah i finally feel that i have come to the point where i actually have a poi oriented goal. which is .... to be able to simply move naturally, regardless of tricks. ya know? give me some time, it will come! :)
For how many monthes/years are you spinning now ? :o
I'm playing poi too, and wish I could be as talented as you one day :)
