Interesting. Some of the gear is wishful thinking and obvious bs but most of it seems quite authentic. Did they use any reenactment groups such as Regia Anglorum? Just curious.

This is not a good mini-series/movie. It's OK to learn something about English history but no more than that. The fighting was so unrealistic that I had to laugh most of the time.

@burtoncaly 1066 was a year. This video is the battle of FULFORD, fought on september 20th, before Stamford Bridge and before Hastings. HARALD HARDRADA (NORWEGIAN) with Tostig Godwinson defeated the English earls Edwin and Morcar. The battle was fought between Norwegian forces aided by English rebels and the Kingdom of England. It was a decisive victory for the viking army. There was no Norman force involved in this battle.

Many of the Byzantine Emperors preferred to have Veteran Warriors as their Varangian Guard(Viking Raider's turned mercenary more often than most). Though I do believe the Viking culture had a very far reach seeing that they raided along the Iberian Coasts and such.

@Dagsschiller The Rus are Varangians ( Swedish Vikings ) dont let Russians and Rus confuse you lol. The were already the Chuds (Finns) The Slavs (Slavs) The Merias (East Finns) The Krivichs (East slavs) and Veses (Finns) there before The Swedish Rus. Russia today is just an old word for that times Swedes ( Swedish people ) Russia is neither a slavic name really. The only reason The state of Rus got is name was cause the Swedish Rus ( Vikings ) Ruled the land instead of the other tribes

@12345678909269 Thanks dude, great info, but my point was that when to peoples meet they get mixed even if not planned, Viking warriors traveled all the way across Russia to get to Contantinople, they left their seeds on the way that's for sure, it always happens with travelers and conquerors.

@Dagsschiller Yeah, Scandinavian settlers ( The Rus ) married Slavic women when they ruled the land what would become later known as Russia, so yeah they did mix ( not that Scandinavians and Slavs are diffrent races or anything, i mean both of them are White and with Northen European genes, pale face, fair hair etc )
