The set used for the trap looks as cheap as the ones used during the third and final season. This was one of the last episodes of the second season. I suppose budget cuts were already being seen.
In the 1st and even the 2nd season, the villains were usually granted a couple of good hits in the fight scenes. Once the 3rd season came, the fight sequences became laughable. (And not in a good way for the show.)
It's sad to think that in the 1st (and even the 2nd) season, they had such a great formula. And once season 3 hit, it's like they did everything to kill the show. (Sloppy scripts, no more cliff hanger ends, very contrived plots, and the loss of any serious element.)
@stanbrekston He probably had a vision of Robin wetting his boy wonder panties from hitting the clay, not realizing he did when his mask slid downward. Poor, fraile baby boy diaper.
i love this old batman shows im glade you posted them and im glad they are on the hub at 3 am so i can record them on the recinging thing i have the boxe with the recorder in it WHAT AM I SAYING
I just LOVE when The Boy Wonder Robin falls face first into that pile of goo. Even though it's supposed to be some kind of clay I always think of it as being some purple, sticky glop and love how it makes poor Robin seem so helpless and wimpy as usual.
@MegaSleeveless I love watching the joker jump up and down laughing as Robin's face hits the soft pink clay I'd love to see the jokers henchmen grab robin still with the remains of the clay on his mask.and hold him as the joker unmasks him. Then after he realizes robin is Dick grayson he can taunt a half awake Bruce to the fact that he knows he is Batman.
anyone else notice that after landing in the purple stuff robins mask came off not by much but just enough to notice his identity? even though mask or no mask i figured it out instantly. when i saw my first batman comic, i wasnt reading the dialouge but the pictures of robin and dick grayson looked alike so i put it together. his mask doesnt cover much.
@BGDD27 Yes. But also notice the camera switches to the women for a few seconds, then when showing Robin again, his mask is back on his face when he is grabbed by the 2 henchmen. Only the viewing audience sees this.
holy bondage! i think this is the only time we ever saw either of the duo in the process of being tied up/down. it's always: knocked out/subdued.....then spinning logo and they're tied. i would have loved seeing the actual tyings. the goon in the foreground looks like he's having fun. his hand rests on robin's trunks, then he slides them down his thigh! i always loved this episode for that scene.
Joker's breaking the biggest beginner art school teacher rule: you should always ask the artist-in-training to describe what he/she is doing: NEVER assume what something is. Bad Joker, BAD!!
"Yes I see what you mean....that's about the level of a three year old."
Hilarious!!!!
These two episodes were brilliantly written. I think having Bruce Wayne featured so heavily in these episodes was a way of giving Adam more face time outta the cape and cowl.
Now I'm curious. I think Bruce pulled out a radio after Joker revealed he was holding them for ransom and wondwered if he was calling Robin or Commissioner Gordon?
Probably not. However, if you notice, the clay wasn't on his face, it was on his mask. At first I thought it was jelly because it stuck to the mask and was heavy enough to pull it away from his face.
"Very funny,Wayne. But the joke's on you". More like the joke's on Robin at 5:47. He was lucky to be able to pull his face out
and push his mask back in place. I would have liked to see either Joker's 2 henchmen pull Robin apart from the clay or come from behind with scissors and cut the back of his mask in half before Robin pulls away.

every joker was the best joker...
for this campy joker, romero was the best.
for the prankster but homocidal nicholson was the best.
for the purely evil, demented and psychopathis joker ledger was the best.
cartoon jokers goes to mark hamill/luke skywalker...
the best varies from person to person though

I noticed that. Dick Grayson never really got any of his own storylines. Only Robin.
drugssuck1991 2 years ago
Well, "The Joker Goes To School" and "He Meets His Match, The Grisly Ghoul" heavily involved Dick Grayson. I especially like the undercover scene. :)
