This "guide" to a boss fight is a complete joke.

If you use a katana with a bleed proc, it does MASSIVE damage every 3 hits or so when it procs. It makes the fight much MUCH easier. The damage off one proc is about 1/10 his hp, he's weak to bleed partly. Thanks for the life lesson, i'm taken that one to heart. As well, you remind me of a guy named Cr1tic4l. That's a huge compliment by me. I love your vids, and keep it up man.

by the way the best weapon to use believe it or not is indeed the Thief Dagger. It took me maybe 2 minutes on my successful try to whittle him down, no shit. That bleed damage WORKS.
I got inspired to fight this guy again. Got owned completely the 1st couple of times, about third try managed to get in a few hits but to no avail, 4th or 5th try (i forget), I completely own him. However I get stuck in the corner so his AOE attack still manages to hit me for damage but I'm still standing. Couple of Ester Flasks and I'm back in the game. Has him down to one teeny sliver and right as he's going for his attack I say screw it and wail on him.

Yeah you're right, for anyone who thinks this is easy they are sorely mistaken, I've just done this at level 56 and I struggled at first, very very good video.
Finally, to almost quote you :P ... the moth******er has died !!! I used a new weapon I found, the Demon Spear ... very effective ... nice range, electric damage, and pretty fast too .. I used this against the Silver Knights in Anor Londo too ... also wearing their suit now, first was wearing Havel's ... but then I move slower, and look like sh** !!! To me, so far, Silver Knight Armor Set, coolest for a Knight in the game so far. Black armor also too heavy btw ;). Oh and thnx for all the tips :P
As a bandit class, it took me ~40 minutes to kill this guy. On one try, I nearly beat him but his explosion owned me hard. Pretty good tip: Once you land on the cell of the stray demon, go to the pillars and head to the farthest one as quickly as possible, the demon wont attack you so you have time to prepare

@EpicNameBro Thanks for the tip ! Currently using the Claymore +5. Been trying out weapons, and this one I like the most so far. In Demon's Souls I loved my Dragon Knight Sword +5 :P. At the moment I only picked up that ring, so I can move easier in the swamp of Blighttown. Will return after the boss, ringing the bell, and maybe I'll do the dude in the gold armor, not sure ;).
@EpicNameBro Got the sword mate ;). Have to say, I did like it, but the Claymore isn't the fastest sword on the planet, but that one is uber slow. Loved knocking down those knights, but I wouldn't see myself using that one a lot. Also, R2 attack more part of my playstyle ;). Thnx for the tip though, might check out one of those Katana's, eventhough I'm not into DEX builds ! Pure tank player here, using Short Bow +5 as a tactical weapon. Also, no magic (basically, same char as in DS)
This is a boss that perfectly epitomizes why Dark Souls is awesome. The first ten times I fought him I got my ass handed to me (lasting longer and longer each time). Finally I it clicked. I saw his attack pattern, took a deep breath, and BAM! I owned him like he was my bitch. Beat it without him hitting me once.
@discoandherpes Same thing that happened to me man! I was getting frustrated as hell! Then, finally I just calmed down, and took the whole thing patiently. My problem was just rushing to kill him as fast as possible.

No Offense but Stray Demon iz prob the easiest boss in the whole damn game. I beat him on my first try and first playthrough and only used like 3 Estus Flasks. Also I wasn't even expecting to fight him it wuz a surprise falling down and seeing him.
@stolenrims I deal with so many people trying to piss me off everyday, it's no big. Saying things like "Stray is the easiest boss" either means a troll or or a new player (Pinwheel, Golem, and many others say HI).
Besides that, I take what people say with a grain of salt. The players I respect are the ones that PROVE their skills.

I use a Fire Washing Pole +10 and it causes bleed too, my battle with this guy lasted about 40 seconds, I simply ruined his huge ass. I suggest this weapon (upgraded).
Finally got this guy thanks to the video. It seems the trick is to first get behind him. Once you do that he should start doing his fire breath which not only damages everything in front of him, but a few feet behind him as well, so stand far enough behind him. When he's done, run in and hit him once or twice and then back up. If you successfully hit him, he will most likely do his fire breath again. rinse and repeat. if you miss, he'll turn around and you'll have to get behind him again.

one word of advice folks... just relax and if you can put a tape on the TV hiding his life bar, that's what makes you nervous (one hit to goooooo... yeees!!! ....dead)
once you only focus on his moves your reactions become auto mode and he will soon cry like a pussy while your sword is in his ass. One think i like about this game is that it teaches you that if you focus and have faith in you, nothing is impossible
oh wow i just beat it!!!! all u have to do is stay close to him at all times. if u r close to him and infront of him he will fly up and land then u strike. if u r close to him behind he will slam his weapon down which will cause an aoe. when he does this run towards him n strike. try hitting just once or twice depending on ur weapon speed!
I finally beat this guy! Just run away and heal as soon as you fall. Then always run to his back and hit him 1-2 times after he does the slam attack. Hope it helps!
Hey Epic, just wondering if you could put up a video on how to kill the Asylum Demon in the first encounter (When you don't have your estus flask and only have a broken straight sword)
The advice in this video is pretty applicable to this fight but even though i'm pretty good at ignoring things (admittedly even before i watched this vid) I haven't been able to kill him yet.
@Geblith Actually, I started as a Thief for the key and took the firebombs to kill him quickly. You can get every other item in game, so nothing else is really unique. You CAN beat him in melee, but it isn't worth the time investment. If you really want another gift, just kill him in NG+. You'll have all your gear and it takes like 1 minute. Even if you get his weapon early, you can't use it for a long time anyway due to the stat req.
@Geblith That said, the strat to beat him is to stay behind him, and learn when to roll if he does a turning swing that might hit you. Back off if he flies up, and back off if he gets near the wall / a pillar. Bait his attack, dodge, and then get behind him again. It's a really simple fight, but it's tough to stay focused long enough to kill him because it's... well, boring.
@EpicNameBro Yeah i've been trying those tactics against him, its just when i make a slight mis judgement or hesitate i suppose. For me it was easy to stay behind him but i hadn't tried backing away from him when he got close to the wall; in fact i used it to my advantage but it usually ended up in causing one of my mistakes as well as getting some extra damage on him.
@Geblith I hope you get him. I always back off when he gets near the wall b/c of camera issues, mainly. It would be a good chance to bait him and good extra damage but, yeah, the camera always gets me.

I just beat this guy after dying like 15 times before and yeah once you get the pattern right and play it safe, it's pretty simple. For starters, right after dropping down, roll or run into the pillars away from the thing at once. It will just walk back and forth and even though the music's playing, it hasn't seen you. The whole process is to run right at it (I did always did it to my right, meaning towards its left leg) but instead of running straight, you then circle around it. 2 hits, bak off
I agree with the life advice, it's very easy to get frustrated at this game, but maintaining focus and doing what you can with what you have is the way, and i'm really glad that this game gives you the option to win with skill and patience. Good job - subbed.
Flamelurker wasnt that bad, Falchion from storm shrine with sticky white stuff hammered that thing did Flamelurker at SL 11 knight. i got hammered by dragon god @ SL 11 he will oneshot you eventually bought alot of spice put soul arrow as magic and knocked down the barricades with that

@EpicNameBro Got the sword mate ;). Have to say, I did like it, but the Claymore isn't the fastest sword on the planet, but that one is uber slow. Loved knocking down those knights, but I wouldn't see myself using that one a lot. Also, R2 attack more part of my playstyle ;). Thnx for the tip though, might check out one of those Katana's, eventhough I'm not into DEX builds ! Pure tank player here, using Short Bow +5 as a tactical weapon. Also, no magic (basically, same char as in DS)

This is a boss that perfectly epitomizes why Dark Souls is awesome. The first ten times I fought him I got my ass handed to me (lasting longer and longer each time). Finally I it clicked. I saw his attack pattern, took a deep breath, and BAM! I owned him like he was my bitch. Beat it without him hitting me once.

@discoandherpes Same thing that happened to me man! I was getting frustrated as hell! Then, finally I just calmed down, and took the whole thing patiently. My problem was just rushing to kill him as fast as possible.

No Offense but Stray Demon iz prob the easiest boss in the whole damn game. I beat him on my first try and first playthrough and only used like 3 Estus Flasks. Also I wasn't even expecting to fight him it wuz a surprise falling down and seeing him.

I use a Fire Washing Pole +10 and it causes bleed too, my battle with this guy lasted about 40 seconds, I simply ruined his huge ass. I suggest this weapon (upgraded).

Finally got this guy thanks to the video. It seems the trick is to first get behind him. Once you do that he should start doing his fire breath which not only damages everything in front of him, but a few feet behind him as well, so stand far enough behind him. When he's done, run in and hit him once or twice and then back up. If you successfully hit him, he will most likely do his fire breath again. rinse and repeat. if you miss, he'll turn around and you'll have to get behind him again.

its 7am and i've been fighting this asshole since 2am
one word of advice folks... just relax and if you can put a tape on the TV hiding his life bar, that's what makes you nervous (one hit to goooooo... yeees!!! ....dead)
once you only focus on his moves your reactions become auto mode and he will soon cry like a pussy while your sword is in his ass. One think i like about this game is that it teaches you that if you focus and have faith in you, nothing is impossible

oh wow i just beat it!!!! all u have to do is stay close to him at all times. if u r close to him and infront of him he will fly up and land then u strike. if u r close to him behind he will slam his weapon down which will cause an aoe. when he does this run towards him n strike. try hitting just once or twice depending on ur weapon speed!

I finally beat this guy! Just run away and heal as soon as you fall. Then always run to his back and hit him 1-2 times after he does the slam attack. Hope it helps!

Hey Epic, just wondering if you could put up a video on how to kill the Asylum Demon in the first encounter (When you don't have your estus flask and only have a broken straight sword)
The advice in this video is pretty applicable to this fight but even though i'm pretty good at ignoring things (admittedly even before i watched this vid) I haven't been able to kill him yet.

@Geblith Actually, I started as a Thief for the key and took the firebombs to kill him quickly. You can get every other item in game, so nothing else is really unique. You CAN beat him in melee, but it isn't worth the time investment. If you really want another gift, just kill him in NG+. You'll have all your gear and it takes like 1 minute. Even if you get his weapon early, you can't use it for a long time anyway due to the stat req.

@Geblith That said, the strat to beat him is to stay behind him, and learn when to roll if he does a turning swing that might hit you. Back off if he flies up, and back off if he gets near the wall / a pillar. Bait his attack, dodge, and then get behind him again. It's a really simple fight, but it's tough to stay focused long enough to kill him because it's... well, boring.

@EpicNameBro Yeah i've been trying those tactics against him, its just when i make a slight mis judgement or hesitate i suppose. For me it was easy to stay behind him but i hadn't tried backing away from him when he got close to the wall; in fact i used it to my advantage but it usually ended up in causing one of my mistakes as well as getting some extra damage on him.
Thanks i'll change my tactics a bit now :)

@Geblith I hope you get him. I always back off when he gets near the wall b/c of camera issues, mainly. It would be a good chance to bait him and good extra damage but, yeah, the camera always gets me.

I just beat this guy after dying like 15 times before and yeah once you get the pattern right and play it safe, it's pretty simple. For starters, right after dropping down, roll or run into the pillars away from the thing at once. It will just walk back and forth and even though the music's playing, it hasn't seen you. The whole process is to run right at it (I did always did it to my right, meaning towards its left leg) but instead of running straight, you then circle around it. 2 hits, bak off

Flamelurker wasnt that bad, Falchion from storm shrine with sticky white stuff hammered that thing did Flamelurker at SL 11 knight. i got hammered by dragon god @ SL 11 he will oneshot you eventually bought alot of spice put soul arrow as magic and knocked down the barricades with that
