  • thailand classical music and player

  • Nice! Question: How did you get that Roneat EK? I want one too.

  • thai misic and music thai

  • I like the way you play this khmer classic!! I also would like to mention that the on going battle of who copied who is getting old the 2 countries are like sisters why cant we all just get along?

  • It's Thai song,not Cambodian.

    that's true.

  • It is Thai music flagrant

  • Southeast Asia was a home of Khmer people, Thai were kicked out of Tailand in Nanchao by the Mongol and they became the slaves of Khmerpeople and they copied Khmer culture since then. Watch video on my channel Thai copied even Khmer Angkor Wat for Thai royal palace today.

  • Thai play better than.

  • @jariworld

Thai play better but UNESCO listed Khmer better instead.

  • @jariworld

Thai play sound terrible that's why UNESCO listing Khmer instead.

  • so beautiful

  • I'm lucky today. I can hear this amazing traditional music. Lucky to be khmer

  • LOL khmer robber. This name is Thai name Ranad.

  • The name is Roneat EK belonged to Cambodia and became the world heritage since 1997.

  • @champ10152 it's ambarrassing to say like that. you should find out who is the real robber. you should be ashame for your word. lolzzzz

  • Amm.. Khmer?

    ปล.นี่มันรำสีนวล? อืมม เก่งๆๆ

  • hello:)

i love to much your play this ronneat and I can take this music and put in a piece of video Tonle Sap 1: une balade en pirogue dans la forêt innondée :)))

    to 6 min 30

    thank you for sharing

  • It the true..

  • @booomsure

    Its the false.

You can watch Taksin from China became King of Siam.

  • From 1780 - 1867, Khmer royal court, which had had no dance and music culture left anymore, begged Thai royal court to send them some Thai art teachers because they wanted to "RESTART" royal arts to become live in their court again. Thai royal court felt very glad that its colony would like to have Thai arts, so, send some dance and music teachers to Khmer court as they requested. Therefore, the so-called royal Khmer dances, Lakhon (Khon) or music are all copied from Thai

  • And after that Chakri mixed with Khmer royal blood with the Khmer help killing Taksin and restarted Bangkok a new capital for Siam. Thai copied Khmer culture from A TO Z even the name of Roneat EK remains as Khmer name only different spelling and Lakhon too is Khmer name.

  • @booomsure

From 1563 to 1568, Ayuthaya was destroyed completely by Burma and Burma destroyed all the Siam court and the Siam royal family origin Tai escaped to live with Khmer royal family until Taksin origin Chinese from China with the help China pushing Burmese army out of Ayuthaya.

  • I've played with Sorovong and , this is Si Noun in Khmer and might be similar to Thai. All pin peats originated in it true Angkor Wat, over the years, it seem to lost it originality and variations. variation played are a combo of phnom penh and thai style which tend to be a little fast beat in compare to siem reap style, which more subtle/relax. there's a kru in wa.dc, said his teacher was thai which he learned from khmer teacher. as u can see a couple of decades gone by could easily be lost.

  • magnifiqueeeeeeeeeeeeee

    orkun bong proh

  • U played so great !!!

    Very crystal sound.

In south east asia i think our country r always so close , everything is in the same tune.

Food , habit of ppl , handy craft and musics.

    thanks for sharing this vid.

  • Thank you and i definitely agree with the similarities of our culture

  • heyy you shud come down to attleboro massachuttes there is one of the most amazing teachers here called lok kru chai he is blind but he plays every insturment except sra lai nd heeee is very goood

  • Hi Khmercivilization, I am not sure the origin of this song. But as a Thai classical musician I would like to say that the song this person played here is Thai Si-nuan. He might have learned from Thai teacher. The apsara si-nuan is different than this. See "khmer classical music" in youtube uploaded by mfjk, you will see the difference.

  • Hi teppasit9, Si Nuon came from Khmer flower of Chek Nuon. This is a Khmer original song named Suon Bopha means the garden of flower, so to call Si Nuon from Chek Nuon flower is not far from Suon Bopha. You can listen to the Apsara song where it says pick flower and give flower to Princess, so both sound the same.

  • This song in Thai is called Srinual, means light green (colour). In Khmer is Apsara, played in the Apsara dance. But what you play here is Thai style. You might learned from Thai. Khmer apsara is different than this.

  • This is not Thai, this is Khmer called

Suon Bopha means Garden of flower

It can be performed in Pin Peat Orchestra for the Apsara dance or can be performed in Mahori Orchestra for the ambiance.

Its not possible for Khmer to learn from Thai because there is no Thai living in Cambodia but there are million of Khmer living in Thailand which was part of the former Khmer Empire land. Thai came to live with Khmer in Khmer Empire land, so Thai learnt from Khmer and changed to Thai name.

  • Shit!!! what the fuck Jerk? enjoy your life in pol pot land ....

  • Keep Shit for yourself!!!

We enjoy our life in Pol Pot land alright. What about you? Can't you enjoy your life in a hatred land because you can't take over Khmer Pol Pot Pride that you have to come here and pour your anger?

  • @zuantuba Excuse me...?

  • @KhmerCivilization

Do you know the million of Khmer that you said come to Thai for what ?

All most of them came into Thai to work for their life !

such as laborer, maid, beggar etc. Do you understand what I want to say ?

If your country better than mine, why did the million of you want to come or immigrate into Thai huh ?

or the million of cambodian unhappy when they live in their country ?

so Cambodia don't have any Thai people because it's not much pleasant to live, isn't it ?

    Thanks :)

  • @KhmerCivilization

In the past, Khmer Empire land didn't mean only Cambodia.

but including a part of Thai, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam too !

so we have some similarly of culture, music, food, language, etc.

and don't present that you are Khmer,

because in fact that you're Cambodian. It's the true.

Khmer is so civilization but I don't know how Cambodia is.

why Cambodian have to copy about foreign music (modern) like america, korea, etc.

including the same music video, tempo, costume, looks ?

  • @myosotid

Cambodia copied foreign Cambodia always acknowledged.

Cambodia copied American and American copied Cambodia search for Champa Battembong song that American copied from Cambodia. Korea copied Cambodia such as Sun Set song.

  • @KhmerCivilization

I never tell you that Cambodia always acknowledged.

because I NEVER think that !

    and...

Please give me a link. (if you have one)

I want to hear it myself. to compare how it's like to each other.

    thanks. :)

  • @myosotid

Right here on YouTube search for American speak Cambodian and sing Cambodian song Champa Battembang.

Korean sing Cambodian song Sun Set. Christy Gibson sing Cambodian Chhnam Mun.

  • @KhmerCivilization That isn't "copy". Isn't that's called "cover" ? same tempo, same language right ? and American that you told me, "Muk" isn't ? the description is "the american - cambodian band" heyyy ! he's the same cambodian w/ you ! why you told that they copy cambodia ?!! He cambodian too ! . I can't find about Sun Set song cause it's not especially word. so, I can't find it. sorry :'( . .
  • @myosotid

It's called copy not cover. They are not Cambodian, they are American and everyone knows because they gave credit to Cambodian. Thai never give credit to Cambodian when Thai copied Cambodian and that's why you don’t know. Cambodian people today live every where around the world especially in USA, they brought American culture to Cambodia. Thailand copied American culture and think Cambodian copied from Thai but in fact Thai copied American.

  • @KhmerCivilization

and the last one Christy Gibson, she told that this song's cambodian.

everyone know that cambodian's song from language, costume

and she sing in cambodian language too.

you can search "Chnam mun en khmer surin - Kuen Lap Fah - Christy Gibson"

she told that this from cambodia's song, isn't she ?

but many (copy) cambodia's songs don't tell other how can they from, right ?

    .

so, have you have another one ?

  • @myosotid

American copied Cambodian Champa Battembong sing and speak Cambodian. Korean copied Cambodian Sun Set and that more than one you asking. American, Korean and Christy Gibson is Thai originated Dutch gave credit to Khmer but Thai never gave credit to Khmer when Thai copied Khmer culture just like this Khmer Roneat EK.

  • @myosotid

Khmer Empire ruled the land of Thai, Laos, part of Myanmar, part of Malaysia and part of Vietnam. Wherever Khmer temples stand today where the land of Khmer people belonged. You don't see Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia and Vietnam claimed Khmer culture as theirs only Thai keep claiming Khmer culture as Thai. Go reading UNESCO website about Cambodia watching Khmer culture listing as the world heritage.

  • @KhmerCivilization

wowwww, something that you said may be means yours !

"You don't see Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia and Vietnam claimed Khmer culture as theirs only Cambodia keep claiming Khmer culture as Cambodia."

Isn't right ? hahaha (for fun, don't be angry)

    ;p

I never seen Thai told another country "It's mine, It's mine ! UNESCO, This is minee~"

until cambodia started to keep it only cambodia's.

and after that, Thais come to resist.

    I'm right, isn't it ? please check.

    Thanks.

  • Amazing! This is my favorite type of music ever.

Does anybody know how to spell roneat ek in Khmer?

  • nice drop the hat first in front of you!

    nice playing!

  • It's not Roneak, it's Roneat.

Roneat means thin wood or thin bamboo that cut wood or bamboo in to thin pieces.

Like Roneat Kre (Thin wood to make bed)

Roneat Phteas...(Thin wood or thin bamboo to build house).

  • Thanks for the correction. Really appreciate it!

  • You are welcome.

Glad to see people talented playing Khmer instrument such as Roneat EK.

  • Dear Sir - about the

Disney world ride - please type "jungle cruise Disney world" . there is a video of this ride and then in the middle - there is a cambodian temple - it is dark with cobras guarding treasure - you will hear the music in the background - I believe its a roneat. Please type in Disney World - not Disney land since the Cambodian temple is not at Disneyland but disneyworld - thanks for your quick response

  • The Jungle Cruise at Walt Disney World by

    SYKVideos

5.41 says Khmer Empire temple and the sound of Roneat Ek playing.

Also at the Miami Metro Zoo there is a Khmer temple and sometimes the Roneat Ek playing in front of the Khmer temple.

  • hello - i havew a question - there is a ridwe at Disney World in which one enters an ancient cambodian temple - beautiful music is heard in the background - it sounds like a Roneat - am I correct? Thanks

  • Hello, I'm sorry, unfortunately I have not been to Disney World yet. I will remember to keep an ear out for that when I do plan to go. Thanks and I hope you enjoy the music.

  • Ek means number one or first

    (Nothing can beat Ek)

Khmer use a lot of word Ek for flying kit like Kleing EK, music instrument like Dontrei Ek, Roneat Ek, speech like Somdei chea Ek etc..
