  • My piano is supposidly original. Its around 1860. I find the piano easy to play yet very professional sounding. It is different, but sure is something special and on its own.

I will get a video up soon.

See the Krakauer on my channel? That is the piano I am selling to pay off the Erard.

$1350 for the Krakauer, appraised at $10,000.

  • Some VERY interesting facts on my Erard-

    84 eighty four Keys total

Specially made- hand written note to the player it was made for- signed by Pierre Erard.

    - 1840s was the manufacturing date-

  • what makes the Erard piano difficult? I am a player of 9 years, and I just purchased a 6' erard similar to this but in a honey blond finish, and I feel that it is similar to some of the other Boston and steinways I have played.

  • That's lovely. You've done a nice job restoring this piano. I agree the Erards are difficult to play. The action requires very precise and controlled technique. Pedaling is also different in these earlier instruments as well because they sustain more than their modern counterparts. I find I have to use far less pedal than on a modern instrument.

  • I prefer this sound than the Emanuel Axx Erard

  • I'm very jealous of this lovely piano!

It's the sound I like the best......a wonderful compromise between the earlier examples of 1840-60 and modern instruments.

All the good qualities of the earlier examples

but with more singing tone/sustain in the treble.

  • great to hear this 1890 Erard being played.

    Very nice sounding instrument
