Today I had the most vaguest bullsht Physics lesson in my life on Waves, 1 hour 5 minutes and I was still unsure what a wave was. Here in just 13 minutes Sal elucidated everything perfectly. Sal you are a bloody Godsend!
Thank you so much! The problems are easy for this chapter, but I was lacking the intuitive understanding that will help me remember how to do it on the AP test. That's where you shine, not many other teachers have the capability to teach intuitively.
Wow thanks, im doing AS physics at the moment and we did the waves topic but i never really understood it, but with this first lesson everything is becoming clearer :) I love how you teach because its never boring and they are short, easy to digest videos, thank you so much for them i actually cant thank you enough haha, anyways i look forward to learning more from your awesome videos :)
I predict that soon Sal Khan is going to be given some prestigious award for his efforts on youtube. And if no such award exists then someone needs to make one!
I recommend the Dover paperback book "almost all about waves" by Bell Labs John R. Pierce, a great engineer. There is a section on how the ears works based on reflections.
Hi Mr. Khan! Thanks so much! This very much helped with my review for my science test on sound waves and light! Wish me luck ^-^ Keep this up. :)

Thankyou sooooo much. My physics teacher cannot explain this at all in my AS class. This makes it so much clearer :D

My text book and notes say a pulse is a single disturbance or bump, you have two?
MrDevin666 8 months ago
Sal if you continued on for a another hour or two you might have rediscovered Quantum Mechanics!

compression wave because its caused by a compression
transverse wave because its caused by a transvestite???

Send me a message if you want to start collaborating on videos together. Khan's academy shouldn't just be a one way street. Let's work together!

For my upcoming test, I needed to know how waves relate to sound. I made a video to help myself and others, but Khan can you expand please!!!!
Here's the video if you find it useful. Just add youtube.com

I'll remove right away! Just give the heads up if this isn't okay.

Waves, yes!
Waves gave me the most trouble in physics, but now that they are getting the Kahn treatment, I'm sure I'll understand them in no time!
