I may have to come back to SWG. I haven't been playing since 2008 when I started Eve Online. Kind of miss some of the aspects to it. And surprised the game is still going. I used to be on Bloodfin. Not sure if they still have that server up. But agreed the Y-8 was a nice ship. I enjoyed the neutral gunship better both both are nice.

Hey ive been looking a swg for a while now and it looks pretty cool.

But can you have other players inside your ship to help you with combat or just to walk about and get taken places?

And how long does it take to get a ship big enough to walk around in, and do you have to train skills and get xp to get it like in other games?

@MalumZeth other players can enter your ship and for instance man the turret guns they can also jus walk around your ship no problem. If you want a ship i which you can walk you have to be a master pilot but if you focus on getting one you can become one in a week, their is also a 180day veteran award which is a bug luxury ship with no guns you dont need to be a master pilot to fly it. And you get new skills and have to grind for xp. So i answered all questions m8 hope you enjoy swg:)

it's the uglyest ship in SWG, and it's also the stupidest cos you can't even mine with as fast as you can with a kitted out JSF, i wonder if they ever fixed the bugs

@tuggray They only fixed the turret arcs.

It is slow for you to mine cause you are probably not even trying to get the best components in the Y8. I pull 40k Minerals every 30 minutes.

Thats with the Mining laser on pilot guns and two gunners on tractor beams in the front turret. I break the asteroids and cruise along behind them until my crew sucks em all up. Rinse and repeat.

What do you see in beauty in starships? I think this ship is amazingly designed with Industrial in mind. I love it!

@powersurge91 Oh don't get me wrong 40k every 30 mins is impressive, i use to do sommit like that with kitted out JSF or TIE advanced basicly the extra speed

There was a bug to make the tractorbeam stick so you can solo mine but mineing with a crew is pain in the arse n with a crew of 4 mining in starfighters you can hall more then 40k in 10 mins easly.

well i suggest dropping WoW SWG is about 8 times the size of WoW and has alot more content

There is a good amount of players coming back now, since enough time has passed since the NGE scare, and alot of content has been restored, i suggest you go to the SWG website to finalize your decision though

Actual crew - you can invite other players to come on-board. they can man turrets, repair systems, or just chill out. Ships are great for guild/clan meetings, or relaxing with really close friends without distractions.

It i a non craftable ship. It can only be gotten from a quest.

The quest no longer functions right so you would be lucky if you actually complete it.

You must spend a lot of money now to get the right Components for it,

Mining grade Reactor and Capacitors needed.

I have pulled in 25k in under an hour not a few.You may not believe it but since the Mustafar expansion came the Y8 has gotten a Mining buff.

all you need is Engines with over 90 on all roll pitch and yaw factors with 135.1 speed.

Shield that can withstand a star destroyer run with only one shunt.

And a (Y8 only) Mining Laser. which is not a renamed elite one, it is an actual 250000 mass *Y8 ONLY* Mining laser, look it up.

I suggest you try these upgrades while mining

On the contrary. I mine in this ship all the time, its fighter like maneuverability allows me to fly around and shoot the asteroids and collect the minerals from the pilot seat and pilot gun.

The Idiots who say it sucks for mining are the ones who park the ship and mine with the turrets. the turrets are not meant for mining, go check the history of the y8 in the starwars universe. "The Correlian mining corporation added 4 laser turrets to their mining vessels to help protect from pirates.

you have to have the rage of the wookies add on to the game and you can either buy a shuttle ticket from Corellia or use your starship and travel there (you used to have to launch into space, hyperdrive there and then land)

I still play it, Less people on but during holidays it actualy gets a bit busy and that makes some good pvp'ing, but best servers to join is Blodfin ahazi and Bria best servers to be on good population, but if you have a lvl 90 on light server, rares are prity easy to get and some things are alot cheaper, hope that helped :-)

the way I lvl up in space is go kill those merc ships in kashyyk space. they give 5000 xp if you havent masterd space yet they give 10k each if youve masterd it once, 15k twice and so on to eight times I think (this is if you switch to a different space like neutral to imp) Im same guy as term529 just switched

The fastest way to lvl is to go with friends on a POB ship such as YT-1300 (Freelance), YT-2400 (ANY(I think)), Nova (Rebel), Decimator (IMP), Or the Y-8 (ANY)
