  • you look like a good kid with a good reason, i dunno why people would dislike this, shame on them.

im atheist now, but i spent 20 years as christian and i believe god are true (im ashamed of it) because ive been brainwashed by priest, then i read the bible, all of it (big mistake) and i start questioning about the "god", then i look at other religion and they have their own "god", why is my "god" is truer than theirs?

then i realize that maybe there is no "god", its just human imagine it.

  • An Atheist is someone who doesn't believe in any gods, ie A-Theist or Not a Theist.... I don't believe in any gods becasue there is no evidence for them, and plenty of evidence that god claims are invalid, as well as evidence that a god is not required for the universe to exist.... so... I am an Atheist.

  • Further, there is no evidence that the universe has develped in any way other than naturally for 13.7Bn years, what happened before that we don't know, we don't even know if "before" is even a valid concept... so, nothing to suggest a god, or anything else, the most honest statement in the world.. "I/we don't know". As for a specific/personal god? There is no archaeological, or other evidence (that should be there), to confirm any claims found in religious texts, this is evidence against it.

  • Respect for thinking about it, and asking the questions... but here's something for you to think about. "Why do you think that people 'choose' what to believe in?", I believe what is supported by evidence, I believe the earth is a sphere, because I have seen pictures, and have lots of other evidence to back that up. We have no evidence to confirm the existance of a god, and much evidence that the universe has developed naturally for 13.7Bn years. Atheism is just "the lack of belief in a god".

  • Guys, give this girl credit, she does an excellent job :) She is asking questions about other peoples thinking and this is the first step towards an open mind :)

MsCatright: I think it was explained sufficiently already why people do not believe in god and believe me if you ever visit Europe when you are older you will see, that religion is only really an issue in the US, we in Europe accept that Religion is a private thing only between yourself and your conscience. Keep asking questions :)

  • If you were my daughter you would believe in the flying spaghetti monster or whatever I feed you that day.

  • Absence of evidence is evidence of absence.

Why believe in something without evidence? The bible is full of superstitious and supernatural nonsense without any proof to back it up.

  • Why be atheist? Because no one is going to reward you in "the next life" for suffering now; religion is a distraction that allows people to keep you working while at the same time your CEO exploits you. If you believe that "god" is going to save you from the pain on earth you suffer through, then you need to realize it is your own actions that make change, not prayer. Save yourself, don't count on god

"Although they may offer us concessions, Change will not come from above."

    ~The Internationale

  • You'll only find the answers your parents want you to find if you only ask your parents. If you read the opinions and findings of other sources, sources that don't care what you believe, nor should they have to, and take into account that they might be right, and you might be wrong, you might just find that it's likely that you are actually wrong, and it's ok to be wrong, because after you're wrong, and you learn the truth, then you can actually be right, and THAT feels the best!

  • I didn't really choose atheism. It's just the only conclusion I could come to after looking at the facts.

  • I'll let you in on something.

People aren't "atheists" because we think "God won't forgive us."

Atheism is simply the lack of belief in a "Higher Power."

Atheists simply do not accept "God" to be real because there is no proof.

There's a reason why it's called "faith in God."

We have yet to find sufficient evidence to prove that God exists.

"Commercials and things" are not sufficient proof of "God."

Atheists don't force themselves not to believe. We simply don't believe.

  • Well done little girl. Every kid at your age should question the dogma of atheism. I notice that you've been receiving alot of abusive comments from atheists. Just ignore them. :-)

    God bless you!

  • @BronyEditor I would not abuse this girl. She has viable questions that only atheists should be qualified to answer. I will abuse morons like you, though, for not understanding the word "dogma", and then throwing it around in a pathetic and ill mannered attempt to get under my skin in the way that you would like. You deserve the abuse you ask for.

  • The reason I do not believe in God is because there is not and likely never will be any compelling evidence in favor of God's existence. You might think that your Bible or Torah, whichever you hold to your chest at night, is true; it is not. Actually challenge why you believe and look to your holy texts for evidence.

    YOU WON'T FIND ANYTHING.

There is nothing there or anywhere else that has any concrete foundation in empirical evidence or logical analysis.

This is why I do not believe.

  • I was born an atheist, I wasn't indoctrinated by force but given insight into religion to make up my own mind. Religion, the supernatural in general, could not convince. Quite the opposite, the negative effect it had and still has is apparent and while a secular society with organic atheism seems to be less violent, abusive, more socially responsible (you know, the stuff Jesus taught), better attitude towards sexuality, gay rights, freedom of speech, less intolerace etc.

  • At 13 years old I had the idea that if I was born in India, I would be a Hindu, and I'm a Mexican so I'm a Catholic. That was when I realized that my link to my religion was based on something as weak as geography. If god was all powerful, geography wouldn't be a problem for him.

Also dinosaurs, astronomy, evolution, tectonic plate movements, viruses, sociology, ancient egyptions, etc. also played some role

  • I feel sorry for people like this girl because it reminds me of myself. We are brought up with these beliefs that we are told are absolutely correct with no other points of view, so we are unable to understand how other people can hold other beliefs. I grew up my whole life thinking there was something wrong with me because I was unable to "detect" this "God". After much investigation, I came to the realization that the whole thing is absurd because we can't even define what "God" is.

  • What these guys said. Along with the fact that there is literally not one ounce of anything that even suggests that a God is governing our lives...except for the bibles. Which are thousands of years old and it's knowledge is limited to the knowledge of the men who wrote it. Those people thought God did everything. Rain, hurricanes, droughts, famine, etc. Then we learned that's not the case. Yet, even knowing that, they still chose to ignore that and believe he's still real.

  • There is no choice involved in being an atheist. Atheism is the respect for truth and evidence in making decisions. We do not believe god exists. We believe that "faith" is a code word for gullibility. Faith is why people flew planes into the towers on 9/11. Faith gives power to religious leaders, allowing them to control people. We choose to live our lives based on facts and science, not magic. Religion uses fear of hell to control people and that is just sick IMO.

  • 12? You are entirely to young to even be on here.

  • We don't choose to be atheists, just as you did not choose to be a monotheist. We don't worship a god or gods because we don't believe they exist, so there's nothing for us to worship. I don't need a commercial or even a friend to tell me what I believe. If a person believes that there is a god or gods, but chooses not to worship them, that person is not an atheist. Atheism is not a religion based on a ritual of worship. It's a theism, a belief pertaining to the existence of a god or gods.

  • @vegetta00 can't believe != don't believe. important as this is a discussion on semantics and not ideology. oxford can- be able to through acquired knowledge or skill have the opportunity or possibility to do- perform solve; work out a child has not acquired the skill... (lacks cognition)... he doesn't have the opportunity (hasn't heard of the concept of god) if someone can't believe, he performs no action (believe or disbelieve). this is neither atheist nor theist. it's not knowing.
  • My atheism is a default position due to lack of evidence or other incentive to believe in the existence of god/gods. Should evidence to the contrary be provided, I would reassess my position.

  • @Dan7Bow and others who require absolute proof of a god, does a jury need absolute proof or beyond reasonable doubt? i consider myself a free thinker. so do not consider me a theist just yet. but i have a question for you. what would prove god to you beyond reasonable doubt? what evidence are you looking for?

  • @madddawgg2 The specific evidence would depend on the god, naturally. Which god are you asking about?

  • @Dan7Bow any god at all. atheism isn't anti a specific god. it's against the concept entirely. god being an otherworldly creator. he doesn't have to be all powerful or all loving.

  • @madddawgg2 My definition of atheism may differ. Anyway, said otherwordly creator would have to leave evidence of their hand in creation. Incontrovertible evidence, not things that can be explained by natural processes. Defining the specific evidence is hard for me, but no doubt an omniscient creator could come up with some.

  • @Dan7Bow why does an otherworldly creator have to be omniscient

  • @madddawgg2 Doesn't, but it sure would help!

  • @Dan7Bow so you agree that an otherworldly creator would be unable to prove himself to you if he isn't omniscient/'all powerful?'

  • @madddawgg2 Hold up, now. A not all-powerful creator could still have the power to prove their own existence. I probably shouldn't have brought omniscience up in the first place, it was irrelevant.

  • @Dan7Bow ok cool. so my question still stands. so let's pretend there's this creator out there in space (or wherever), and he's like how am I going to prove I exist to Dan7Bow. How am I going to do this. What does he need to see in order to believe? Specifically within the realm of the laws of physics and using only materials available on Earth. Basically, from within Earth, how can he prove himself to you?

  • @madddawgg2 I'm not sure I understand the limits you've described, but... aren't you basically describing a god-creature whose existence in no way differs from their non-existence? What with the "realm of the laws of physics" and "materials only available on Earth" and all. In order to believe, this Dan would need to see a rapid, unheard of change in the world that can't be explained by natural means in a controlled environment, and contains a signature of sorts from said god.

  • @Dan7Bow it's my belief that the creator has to play by the rules of nature. imo, i feel that god always has played by the rules he set in place.

either way, what you want is immutable proof. evidence != proof.

but that's going to be your own problem when dealing with discovering truth in your life. i'm not trying to bash you. just saying.

    csi effect

if you were a juror at OJ simpson's trial, you wouldn't have had immutable proof and you would have given a not guilty verdict.

  • Haha awww you're so cute, trying to have such big girl opinions.

  • We do not choose to be atheist, we are logical so we are atheist by default.

  • I don`t "choose" t o be atheist. We are all atheist at birth. We are taught to believe in the supernatural. There is no reason to believe in god for god is not real. The supernatural does not exist. There is no reason or evidence to support the supernatural. Arguments for god have been disproven. Watch a video titled "Proofs for god destroyed by a philosphical atheist."

  • @vegetta00 to say that a baby has a philosophical opinion on things at birth is absurd. he isn't an atheist or a theist yet at all. we are not taught to believe in the supernatural. i would argue that we are Taught (as in at school, by teachers), to discount the supernatural in favor of rational explanations.

believing in god can have a logical rationale behind it. just as atheism has a logical rationale behind it. atheism is as much a belief as theism is.

  • @madddawgg2 Atheism is NOT a belief in something. It is a LACK of belief. Thus, we are ALL born atheist, for we are all born ignorant of the concept of the supernatural. If you do not know about god, then you cannot believe in god. If you do not believe in god then you are by definition an atheist.

Atheist - someone who does not believe in god(s).

  • @vegetta00 let's not get into semantics. atheism is defined as a disbelief. but it is by no means the lack of a belief. you are born with a minimal, minimal set of cognitive capacities. it's impossible for a newborn to think philosophically. to be an atheist means you subscribe to a philosophical belief/disbelief/rejection of a belief. when someone asserts, 'i am an atheist,' he acknowledges he's put forth thought to make a philosophical claim about his set of beliefs (or lack thereof).

  • @madddawgg2 Wrong. To say that "I am an atheist" is to merely state the default position of ignorance. Even if made aware of the concept of god, so long as you simply do not believe, you are an atheist. Newborns are ignorant of god - atheists. To be an atheist does NOT mean you subscribe to ANYTHING. You simply do not believe. There is no philosophy behind it. YOU don`t believe in Lisk`er. Do you know what that is? No. Your lack of belief in Lisk`er is a default position.

  • @vegetta00

    suppose the following argument:

if one is ignorant to the concept of X, he can't form an opinion on X. (agree/disagree?)

if you agree, suppose the following premises:

if one is ignorant to the concept of god, he can't form an opinion on god.

to be an atheist requires forming an opinion on god (self-evident)

a baby is ignorant to the concept of god

because a baby is ignorant to the concept of god, he can't form an opinion on god.

a baby can't be an atheist.

  • @madddawgg2 I see where you`re coming from. You have a false definition of atheist. An atheist is NOT someone who disbelieves or disagrees with the concept of god. An atheist is - someone who lacks a belief in god. There are many reasons why someone may lack a belief in god. In the case of babies, that lack of belief stems from their ignorance of the god concept and the ability to understand it. They are therefore, by definition (lacking belief) atheists. Don`t make up a definition.

  • @vegetta00 Actually, and I mean no disrespect, but you, sir, are making up the definition here. Look it up on m-w.

    "2 a : a disbelief in the existence of deity b : the doctrine that there is no deity " merriam-webster. com/dictionary/atheism

    Furthermore... what is an opinion.

"1a : a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter "

    merriam-webster. com/dictionary/opinion

Therefore... atheism is an opinion on god. That is all. I'm done. Nice talking with you.

  • @madddawgg2 Atheism - absense of belief.

Most of the world`s population are theists, such as yourself. So it is likely that the individuals who write the definitions don`t understand what atheism actually is. However, you should look at more sources. Most should say that atheist is a lack of belief.

There can be no doctrine in atheism for there is no doctrine about the non-existence of gods. A source that defines atheism using 'doctrine' is questionable. You were born atheist.

  • @vegetta00 then show the dictionary that does

  • @madddawgg2 Oxford Dictionaries.

  • @vegetta00 from your source

    oxforddictionaries[dot]com/definition/atheist?q=atheist

"a person who does not believe in the existence of God or gods"

i don't see lack of belief.

  • @madddawgg2 A person who does not know of god, cannot believe. If they don`t believe, then they are an atheist.

  • And on top of that, what athiests believe when you die is that you just go through an eternity of nothing. Empyness. I fear that about 10x more than I do what thiests describe hell as. Plus if you haven't noticed this by now, almost EVERY war is caused over religion, billions of people have DIED because of it. Religion has pretty much plagued humanity which has plagued the earth. I ask you to question theism then question atheism. Think for yourself, don't just assume authority is always right.

  • Oh where to start....

Why don't I believe in god, typically the Jewish and Christian religions?

Reason 1:They both are discriminant towards GLBT and to some degree, women.

Reason 2:The bible is flawed, Scientificly, Mary being able to have Jesus without having sex is about 1 in 10 billion for a human girl. And even if that where possible since she only has 2 x chromosomes and can not produce a y, then Jesus would of had to of been a woman.

  • no one can prove god exists. once that happens i will admit im wrong. good luck proveing that.

  • guys don't be too harsh, when I was her age I thought the same way

  • @mgrey24 I agree, asking questions is a good thing.

  • Stupid child.

Asking these dumb questions. Why are we an Atheist? because there is no god thats why. DERP HERP. lol

  • The bible includes too much bullshit thats why

  • I grew up catholic. 12 years catholic school thanks to my parents. For me it was the older I got, the more I saw and learned about the world and its many people. I started to ask questions that my teachers, priests, and other adults couldnt answer. My views and ideas differ from Christian/Catholic beliefs, but I still think its important to not to be judgemental, to be honest and kind. I don't need the concept of hell and heaven to be a good person. If anything, I think religion is the crutch..

  • too young

  • I don't believe in God because of Lack of evidence, and Science contradicts many things in the Bible (Flat-Earth, Age of the Earth, Evolution Etc)

And even if it was 100% proven that a God exists, I still wouldn't worship it.

    Worship has to be earned.

You need to think about your beliefs objectively, don't just believe everything your Parents believe, out of "honor and respect"

That's a pathway to ignorance, not truth.

Look at the evidence in a non-biased, Objective way.

  • It's not a decision.. It's not an option for us to believe something with no sense and absolutely no evidence. Why would anyone freely choose to be bullshitted?

Hope you grow out of it while you grow up :)

  • God bless you!

And all atheists. He loves everybody!

  • because the bible is a lie and there is no proof that there is a god

  • @1kid2kid ..And your verifiable PROOF is ?????

  • well said .....may GOD Bless you.......Be prepared for the onslaught of attacks from the zombies of atheism that will try to tear you down. Stay focused on GOD... Dont let there antics get to you.... I will be praying for you.....

  • coz youre the only ...god that i will ever need ..im holding on and waiting for the moment to find me..

  • lack of evidence

  • There's alot of commercials about Santa too...

  • Truly, forgiveness comes from people, not from deities, or Gods.

Another thing, as far as creation of the earth (universe, etc.) goes, I believe that it is my purpose to do good things with the time I've got; not to try and figure out all of the good things that have happened over all time. I understand that you've got a lot of questions. It is important to develop your own train of thought about how you wish to treat yourself and others. Stay open to ideas that work. Discard ideas that do not.

  • Because I wouldn't worship some fictional tyrant.

  • I wasn't raised into a religion so I never really believed in a god, I have been agnostic most of my life but after looking into debates and the evidence behind these claims I am thoroughly atheist now.

I'm just too logical for a firm belief in a god

  • you are very young and very sweet to believe that we are going to hell in that concerns you. I doubt that you are young age you've listened to many of the very intelligent arguments not supporting existence of a god. there is no hell in there is no heaven and there is no reason to think that there are any of those things. don't believe your parents that you're a bad person if you stop believing god when you get old enough to use your reason. good luck.

  • Because it's the only thing that ever made sense to me. I never believed in Santa Clause either. Then when i learned more about science it only reinforced it.

The religions that aren't Abrahamic actually make a lot more sense to me so i find it funny she says "not christian or jewish"

It's actually the opposite, religion makes it ok to do bad things and then think you will be forgiven and go to paradise like everything is cool.

You say "God" as in only one, i wonder why you don't worship Odin?

  • Give the girl a break atheists, go back to your deadend 9 to 5's. She wants some feedback on a simple question not your life story (or lack of one).

  • fuk gods bitch, they ain't exist

  • TITS OR GTFO!

  • It was not my choice to be an atheist, just as it was not my choice to believe my car has four tires. No one can freely choose their beliefs. Your beliefs are based on your perception of the world around you.

Atheism is not defined as the belief that there is no god. It is the absence of a belief that a god exists. Just because atheists aren't convinced that a god exists doesn't mean they're convinced that no gods exist.

  • Wait, did you say you were Christian and Jewish? LOL Or did I just mishear?

  • u stupid %%%$££$%^&(sorry i had to while i was writing i was writing something rude untill u sad u were 12) how the hell can you be christian and jew at the same time thats impossible ask anyone the two books contradikes eachother jew dont belive in jeuse as God or as a messanger . think about it theres tones of diffrens and only a little thats the same.

  • I didn't "choose" to be an atheist. If you simply don't believe in the existence god, that is atheism by definition. However, there are MANY religions out there. You CHOSE to be Christian or Jewish, or whatever. You don't "choose" to be an atheist. There is NO evidence whatsoever in the existence of god. NONE.

  • @theignoredgender existence of god is the world the univers us the humens star big bang, creation the world living togather one mistake one unbalance in this world or univers would of been deaf for us, like when we are sick we have everything in this world to make us better, every cure is her but we have to find and we are.

we are (earth)a size of a atom in the universe this is just something to think about.

theres much more and maybe your looking in the wrong place for God existence(prove)

  • Lol forcing ourselves to be atheist. You were born an atheist and someone forced you into Christianity you thick lil shit.

  • You don't "choose" to be an atheist. Your skepticism forces you to because religion does not have sufficient evidence and most of the time, does not make sense.

  • The stories from the bible originated from the egyptian folklore and greek mythology, Religion tells people how to think and feel. anyone with common sense can practice knowing and being able to relieze right from wrong and have a good life without self dout and self guilt forced upon them by organized religion.

  • @patrik643 what about the QURAN befor u say something read it and then present me the false not what u have heard but what you have found out from its original backround, its roots like the quran hadith this books have clear prove and gudicne. dont go to a anti islamic group first to find out about islam but go to the source first then do what ever.

    sorry 4 spelling mistakes lol

  • An atheist is not someone who chose not worship god, an atheist is someone who does not beleive a god exist to begin with. So the statement that an atheist chose to be an atheist because he fears god will judge him makes no sense.

  • kids say the darndest things!

  • Well, first you can't ask the question and then assume the answer. Second, there is no evidence for a god. Commercials aren't evidence, nor is others just saying "There is a god." And it is that lack of evidence that makes me an atheist. I have no idea if there is a god or not, however I've never seen any reason to believe there is, so I don't. By the way, it's awesome that at 12 you're asking questions. Hope you didn't find this response to be mean. :-)

  • @trwhite1266 I'm proud of you, as a fellow Atheist for being respectful to such a young kid, while still answering her question thoroughly.

  • I'm Atheist because I think the idea of worshipping an invisible man in the sky that 'created everything', despite their being no evidence for this, Is fucking ridiculous.

  • MsCatright, you are way, way off base. I'm not superstitious - I don't "believe" in Santa Clause, the tooth fairy, or leprechauns either. I have no reason to. I have no experience to convince me even a little that there's some invisible, all-loving, powerful, vindictive, murderous sky-daddy that may or may not answer my prayers. (no, of course I don't pray). I don't believe in any gods, not Zeus, Elohim, Jehovah, Ganesh, Thor, etc. They're all make-believe.

  • religion is pre science, explanations for things man didnt understand at the time and were forced to believe at sword point

  • Ms Catright - Why do you choose not to believe in astrology? Does it appear to you to be a man-made fantasy born out of a time of comparative ignorance? When you understand why you don't believe in the Zodiac you will understand why I don't believe in your god. He is an invention of ignorant man.

  • I'm atheist because I find a lot of religious beliefs very dumb. I'm not going to believe in something because somebody heard it from an all mighty power that doesn't even exist. I'm not going to spend my whole life wondering if there is a god out there when there are multiple religions that can't even stick to one god altogether. It's a waste of time for me

  • One cannot choose to believe something, someone can choose to accept or reject, but not to believe. It is like choosing to be born on earth, there is no choice. To claim to be an atheist is to make a statement about one's own lack of belief, no more, no less. cheers

  • Comment removed

  • To dumb for science, logic and evidence? Why not try religion?

  • This is why 8-year old should not be permitted to the internet.

  • i'm an atheist because there's NO evidence of any gods...

you're too young to make up your mind about such a heavy subject, but when you're older, if you care whether or not your beliefs are true, study your religion and investigate it's claims.

  • @Niemtol Phew... you don't sound very powerful to me.

  • i dont get it what do people believe in you dont have to worship him or none but at least tell me why people dont see how someone has to have mad this planet so you cant tell no fucking big bang shit happened because where did that crap come from

  • This is why I'm atheist.

I'm not saying believing in god is dumb but for me it doesn't seem realistic. At all. I used to believe in god but as I got older I started thinking about how unrealistic it seems. I really do want to believe but i just can't bring myself to actually believe it.

Oh and btw No I'm not afraid I've made too many mistakes.

  • if god realy existed then why do people have bad lives or get killed its not like these people dont pray.and if people are ethiest or not why should it matter...

  • I don't choose my beliefs. Just like you can't choose to believe the sky isn't blue on a cloudless day, I cannot choose to believe in a god that there is no evidence for. When I look around, I see nature. Nature, in all it's glory and horror, is only evidence for itself, not god. Nature=/=god, or Zeus, or Odin, or Ra. Nature only=Nature. Nothing else. Your thoughts on why atheists are atheists are extremely bigoted, I strongly suggest you abandon them. I am eloquent and patient, msg me.

  • lol commercials prove gods existence. youre going to need more credibility than that. but hey i give her credit, at least shes curious and asking questions (how condescending they may be) but asking them none the less

  • This is sad. I choose not to believe in God because there's absolutely no evidence for god. At all. And why would I be afraid that I wouldn't be forgiven by god if I don't believe in him in the first place? Please be more open minded. Question the world. Don't just listen to what your parents tell you.

  • Hi sweetheart, first off I appreciate your video..and your truth seeking. The question you ask almost assumes that atheists haven't reasoned their beliefs fully, and this is not correct. A good starting point for discussion is that I (let's call me an atheist) admit there's a possibility that God exists, and you admit there's a possibility that God (of the bible for simplicity's sake) does not exist. NOW we can have a discussion, analyse the evidence and our reasons for our beliefs.

  • @getsupercharged What I would suggest is that, if your faith is correct it cannot be swayed or damaged by seeking truth wherever it may lead. If your faith is not correct, you will find what IS true by your seeking...either way you win. I say that because to truly understand atheism you need to research and understand WHY people do not believe in God rather than assert your faith as ultimate truth. I'll give you a hint, atheists do not CHOOSE to be atheists, I'll explain why in another text box

  • @getsupercharged Atheists do not choose to believe there is no God, rather they have analysed (in general) the facts and have concluded that the truth is that there is likely no God. We don't choose to believe in truth, it's like saying I CHOOSE to believe in the sun. I can't choose NOT to believe in the sun (or to believe it's a dragon instead) because all the evidence supports it being a sun. Let me ask you a question: would you want to believe something that is not true? Would you choose to?

  • @getsupercharged I heard it said recently that if faced with the choice between truth and God, it is best to choose truth, because God cannot exist without truth, but truth CAN exist without God. Seek and ye shall find. Not all atheists are as foul as some you've likely encountered on YouTube, and I hope you find some (like me) that can engage you in a respectful way. Once again, kudos to you on the video and your quest for knowledge. Cheers!

  • I don’t believe in god because if God is benevolent, then why do moral and natural evils to happen to good people? Why does he let people go to hell? If he’s Omnipotent then why does he let people commit moral evils? And why does hell exist? If life is a test for the after life, then its pointless because Christianity states God is Omniscient, so he already knows what you do and controls that you do it. In my eyes, religion is too contradictory for me to believe in(:

  • @ImaSheepDotCom

I definitely agree. I was raised, or am being raised for that matter, in a Christian home, so i have to go to church. This past sunday the preacher was like love is not jealous, or greedy, or etc. And then he was like God is jealous god. He wants all your attention and love or he will make not so pleasant things happen too you. Then he's also like god wants you to really believe and feel for him, not just because he could smite you. I'm like WTF???

  • MsCatright, have you READ the Bible? I mean ALL of it... If you haven't, then you should. If you have, then I submit that you either didn't understand it, or you're completely okay with God promoting slavery, rape, murder, incest, genocide, etc...

  • @jont43 "God promoting slavery, rape, murder, incest, genocide, etc... "

That's completely false but lets suppose I'm skeptic about that claim, since you are the one making the claim, the burden of proof is on you, lets hear it.

  • @naujphantom Slavery: Exodus 21:20-21, Rape: Judges 21:10-24. Deuteronomy 22:23-24 and 28-29, Murder: Deuteronomy 17:12, Exodus 22:17, Leviticus 20:13, Exodus 21:15, Leviticus 20:10, Leviticus 21:9, Exodus 22:19, Deuteronomy 13:13-19, 2 Kings 2:23-24, 1 Samuel 6:19-20, 2 Samuel 6:3-7 Incest: I'm just going off the fact that God created one man and one woman, and mankind came from that... Think about it. Oh, and after the flood, Noah and his family repopulated. Genocide: THE FLOOD!

  • @jont43 Sorry for the delay, I'm having connexion problems.

Exodus 21:20-21: Google: Exodus 21:20-21 Apologetics

Judges 21:10-24: Google: debunking Rape in the Bible

Deuteronomy 17:12: Google: Death penalty Is Yahweh a Moral Monster?

Those are the firsts, you can find a lot by searching the web, let me know if you want to discuss one in particular.

  • @naujphantom let me some thing about the quran and befor you say something read a few lines in the quran in english then replay back to me saying its false and why, i can give prove to u but my english wrighting is not so good and youtube is not for thing like this discoustions coz it can be long.

  • @numani12345 My english isn't very good neither.

I have read a few lines of the quran.

My main problem with the quran is that it openly contradicts the gospels but don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to convince you of anything.

I think there is a lot we have in common.

If you want to discuss something I will be happy to do so.

  • For the most part I am atheist because of the many stories in the Bible and other religions that are demonstrably wrong and obviously made up by people who understood the world less than we do today.

I was about 6-8 when I first laughed at an unbelievable story in the Bible and declared that I didn't believe it. That was really when I became an atheist.

But I also find that the immorality of christian doctrine is unacceptable in modern society.

I think that sums it up nicely.

  • Afraid that we've made too many mistakes? huh? the actual reasons we are Atheist we've explained over and over and over again... Theists just plain refuse to acknowledge it and make up their own reasons for us, kind of like you just did. everyone is different but I AM an Atheist because try as I did I could not continue to pretend I believe in magic. You simply cannot provide any real evidence of the supernatural (and dont tell me a sunset or a childs smile is proof because it isnt).

  • No dear child - for thirty-nine years I "Forced myself" to believe in a god when I secretly knew way down deep that I was just the product of childhood indoctrination and I was (just like everyone else) just too scared and self-centric to imagine a world without me in it, don't you think I would really want there to be an afterlife and a benevolent father figure? I needed to grow up, and stop pretending just for the sake of being comforted.

  • Many atheists are people who have gone to College/University and have learned much about how the world works. When you have this knowledge, you realize that the Bible has many things in it that make no sense. Religious people often don't have this knowledge, which is why they don't see any problem with it.

  • This girl exemplifies the empty cardboard dipshit non thinking American teen. This is the beginning of American fail. It starts with cowardly moronic parents who psychologically abuse their spawn and then that spawn grows to fail as an adult. Years from now when Atheists cleanse earth of religion we will be filling our gas tanks with oil made from 5 billion faithful and watching videos like these in the same way we now watch videos of crazy commercials of the 1950s. Religion is cancer on mankind

  • @MsCatright Have you ever questioned your own beliefs? Instead of asking me to question mine, perhaps you should research Atheism and why people don't believe in god. For example, the fact that Jesus is a deity stolen from earlier religions, or why evolution is fact and creationtism is a myth.

Ask these questions with a totally open mind, without letting what you've been taugh affect it. Imagine you had never been taught about God, then look at the evidence.

    Then you'll find your truth.

  • I used to be a Christian but was very frustrated that the ideas and beliefs didn't line up with my experience with the world. Over time, I became increasingly more frustrated until I decided to think more critically about the actual validity of the ideas and beliefs in the first place. Once I began to think in this way, I was forced to come to the conclusion that the Judeo-Christian world view is false and that there is so much more out there that is beautiful and wonderful just waiting for me..

  • no evidence whatsoever

  • you know like they lied to you about the tooth fairy? and then father christmas? same with god

  • i dont really choose to be atheist. i try to believe in god. its just hard to believe.

  • If there was concrete evidence of the existence of a deity, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of people will believe. But where is the evidence?

At this moment, I could say that god holds the exact same chance of existing as some random flying spaghetti monster in space.

Atheists choose to believe things on the presence of solid facts, not spirituality or believing for the sake of believing. They are not afraid of dying or going to hell; they don't believe in hell.

  • okay im like the onely persome ho will anser her qeston the reson oh sorry for bad selling is that im dislexic and im 12 to and il be nice. the resonn im atheist is cuz thers no pruff that ther is a god and you mite feel him in your heart but even if ther was a god he woudent be a good one.and on im not an atheist cuz im scerd that god wont for give me its cuz how do you now wer you go wen you die wen youv never died cuz the

bibel? nope you now if you god just came out no one woud be atheist

  • Come on guys, she's only 12. She'll learn.

  • This is just a (10-12 years?) old little girl asking why people choose to be Atheists, and all I see is hundreds of stupid comments ...

  • @Lintflas I see the stupid comments too but their are also alot of genuine polite well-thought-out and articulate responses as well.

  • your like 6 years old you don't know about god, or lack there of. and you definitely dont know about atheists

  • may the blessing of Ra shine upon you.

  • yes, commercials show me everything i need to know.

  • Because I'm intelligent. and I believe things based on an observation, faith is the denial of observation so that people can think the world was created in the way that they WANT to see it. I used to be a christian when I was younger and more naive. then I got to realizing. everything I've ever done, EVER. I did with ought prayer. and when I did pray, it never helped. they practically force you into Christianity(or whatever else) at a young age so that you will always believe it when your older.

  • @Super16BitGamer "Because I'm intelligent"

...and humble. "I believe things based on an observation"

Do you think that it is correct to believe in things only based on observation?

If yes, what kind of observation leads to believe that it is correct to believe in things only based on observation?

"faith is the denial of observation"

Faith is a belief that is not based on proof, not the denial of proof.

  • @naujphantom u cant diprove God, most question is to do with why.

read the Quran even a little a page or two the moden english Quran so u understand. then disprove it i bet you cant, it will have a effect on you but u have to be open minded. cant be byist or you know what i mean. look around not just in this world look every where then think about it.

    think befor u think lol.

  • @numani12345 "u cant diprove God"

I'm not trying to disprove God, I'm a believer.

  • It's past your bed time little girl.

  • because i want to...

  • 7 years old??????????

  • why do bad things happen to good people?

  • I am an atheist because I read the bible...

  • Better question: why do you 'choose' to be Jewish or Christian?

  • Hi I'm an atheist! You say "people choose to not believe in god when there's a lot of commercials and things today that says there is a god", this is not evidence for any god's existance. You are jewish and christian because your parents are jewish and christian. If you happened to be born in the middle east, you and you parents would be muslim. People come to be atheist because there is not a shred of evidence for anything supernatural. Hopefully you stay in school! - Good luck!

  • It's their choice. I'm not athiest I'm catholic and all but if you believe good for you. But commercials don't prove anything. It's their choice. And they don't think there is no one to forgive them the whole thought is just had to believe for them. It's no big deal and don't worry about it unless someone says a personal atrack against you about your religion. But I see the point you're trying to make

  • God is bullshit girl, btw you're very cute.

  • I refuse to believe in a god that claims to love us yet he allows, famine, war and disease to thrive in this planet and sends people to Hell just because we don't agree with his views. Also, God apparently gave us free will but he will also send you to Hell if you don't use it the way he wants. Doesn't really sound like a God worthy of praise to be honest.

  • Funny to see not only reactions below this video (comments), but also to find MissHannahMinx aka MissFakeTittyJapanese in related videos.

  • Why don't people believe in Santa Clause or Fairies? It's the same thing.

I personally believe that there is a higher power, just not the christian god. You know?

  • Okay, people being complete assholes, like she said, she is only 12.

She is probably just curious about this.

You don't need to be calling her a whore and a bitch.

  • Nope. It's very simple - there's no evidence! We don't disbelieve in god because we fear god, there just isn't a shred of evidence for it at all.

  • @CammehYaBams

    (R) u c-riuz? ur jus an aithest lolz

    (A) troll cuz u dont believez in godz.

  • get of youtube please

  • because it's the most logical choice. simple, im not saying that anyone is wrong, just that they probably are.

  • A god who commands and allows such atrocities as the one seen in the old testament is a god who will forgive anyone for anything as long as that person agrees with him.

Your god is not holy, kind, or righteous. He is a tribal war god, of the same ilk as so many others of his time.

Instead of believing what you've been raised to believe, simply strive to be good regardless of any religious doctrine. Strive to be a good person, seek understanding, and grow in awareness.

    We have faith in you.

  • @gretschbriansetzer

    mother_of_god.jpg

  • why do you choose to be religious? oh ya, i bet you were told the believe this by your parents. i know your young but one day in biology class you will learn about something called evolution. the bible is an ancient script backed up by ZERO evidence. i dont know where you live, but here in LA, Ca we have the natural history museum, theres a whole section that you dumb creationist could learn a lot from! you stupid naive child.

  • @cgm0826

So what, do you get a hard on from yelling at young girls over the Internet or something?

  • @Adamskaish wtf, how do you get that form my message? you know youtube, just clicking on the relevant, i dont know how i got here !
