i like this battle but it is absolutly not possible XD
They are to close to the star, the ships should fry, i doubt their shields are strong enough. And even if the capital ship shield are strong enough, the fighters are not.
@Kctsu Most things in Star Wars are impossible, sound in space, being able to breathe on Mustafar in Episode 3 without the shielding, ect. But still, great space battle.. I think it's asking too much from a developer to make it spot on real, gotta have some make-believe element to it, ya know?
@KotorFan97 Want to know something? Blasters are possible to make, NASA has made Ion Engines ect those are some things for example. I think who cares? Maybe, someday we might have a Lightsaber.
@KotorFan97 I think the sound in space thing is there so the viewers don't freak out and think something is wrong with their speakers or get bored with no sound.
Then you have to realise that not everyone who watches Star Wars films and plays the games knows that there's no sound in space. >_>
All the jedi who joined Revan when he attacked the Mandalorians. Which was thousands. Hmm, stay and die from Mandalorian rule, or defeat the Mandalorians and take their helmet, un-unifying them...which would it be? But the Jedi Council would've became Mandalorian. Vandarr's weak as hell.

@aweha well i wouldn't agree about a betther story but i think that Star Forge makes more sense than Star Destroeyr. -.- "HO!!! I CAN destroy planets! MUAHAHA" Revan: " Shut up Bi&/. my Star Forge can create an army of any size, consumes stars to do so and empowers the dark side of the force."
The rebels won the battle of the death star 2 by using tatics the imperials were not prepared for
Malak clearly lacked fleet combat experience..
Sith dont have any kind of solid command chain... Its there curse, They only value strenght which means that any smart commander (unless hes under the protection of the dark lord him/her self) willl get murder'd by his idiot trainee..
Saul karath was under malaks protection that why none of the other sith shot him.. im guessing if he wasnt he'd be dead before we could kill him..
the thing is without a proper fleet tatican the sith war effort is doomed since they'd lose any major battle bastila was not part of... and then theres always the risk of her dying.
The Sith always outnumbered the Republic. Up until the end of the Last Sith War, anyways.
The tactics; however, were poorly organized. As you can see from in game, Malak was more worried about petty vengances than the long term goal. He never grasped Revan's greatest teaching, the ends justify the means.
Look at the size of the Sith fleet in the beginning. For the light side, I'm surprised the Republic fleet can even hold out long enough for Revan to stop Bastila and defeat Malak. With that many ships and Bastila's Battle Meditation, the Sith could've easily wiped out the Republic fleet.
And the Interdictors are gigantic compared to the Republic's Hammerhead cruisers. In the beginning there were dozens of them seen but in the other cutscenes there were only two?
it´s because he didnt put the cutscenes in the right order, to make it more dramatic, the begining cutscene, with the HUGE Sith fleet is the dark side ending were you take control of the Sith and conquer the galaxy....or attempt to conquer it.
Revan was training the republic to win, malak was a retard and didn't see anything like that, and went on destroying everything. They didn't win because of malak
Yeah, but Episode III was really disappointing to me. We need a totally new movie, perhaps a new genre. In any case not a new Starwars episode or another "expanded universe" movie or such crap, but a movie that's not comparable to Star Wars at all. A new franchise. Anyone interested?
I like the way they did not neglect the space part of the battle for the star forge, and the way they interlinked when you redeemed Bastilla and she would use her battle meditation agiainst the Sith showing a clip of the Republic armada advancing through the Sith lines.
I liked the design for the Leviathan aswell, so unusual to have a two pronged hull. The Leviathan was a republic capital ship but Revan and Malak stole their flagships of the class and then the starforge replicated them.
the star forge i believe is a lot bigger then the death star for heaven sakes.. the star forge was built by slaves.. while the death star was built by clones ina short time.. so the star forge might be 2 to 3 times bigger then the death star
Death Star was being built for 19 years. The CIS started construction, but only got a little bit done. The empire picked up with Droids and Slaves building it.
The Star Forge might of been able to channel energy from the star into the Death Star which would of destroyed it instantly. Even with shields and that laser.
... That idea is baseless. Star Forge was constructed to build an army. Rakantan`s didin`t need a weapon, they needet a factory and that`s what it is. A simple factory with the trait to the Dark Side.
Also if it would channel energy by your logic, then it would just get extra energy to fire new shots.
It is baseless. I was just assuming that if the factory was practically defenceless to capital ships (it only seems to have had point lasers) it would have had to have some way of destroying them.
Still.. not many other species had capital ships in the era they live in.
Most likely Rakata didn`t thought it like that, in their time of contstrucing thier Empire, they never had real opponents as at the time they were the only one with a hyperdrive.
When they buildet it, it was in the hearth of the Rakatan empire, thry had fleet there to defend their home and Star Forge could supply it indefenetly
Yeah thats what i'd meant. They were no other species capable of fighting them since they had the first hyperdrive.
I dont think the Star Forge was capable of creating capital ships, I think the Leviathan was originally a Republic ship. So I wonder how they conquered planets?
Well we can see in the ending moviet that Leviathan`s come out of the Star Forge and even so was is Dorak from the Dantoiine who said that good part of the invasion fleet was not of Republic origin.
Also, I would doubt that corvette class ships would be able to class Tatoiine to it`s current state, so yeah, I believe that Star Forge was capable of making capital ships back in the times of Rakatan Empire.
I mean, Jesus. With space technology, even we would make capital ships.
This was the climax of the first game. (NOT the sith lords) A large portion of KOTOR 1 revolved around uncovering star maps so that you could locate the Star Forge.
Maybe so, but in terms of their usefulness in a space battle:
The Star Forge could churn out an infinite number of small ships to go aim for the exhaust port. On the other hand, if they didn't hit that target first, the Death Star's turbo laser could potentially knock out or do serious damage to the Star Forge.
It really might depend on quite a few factors, i.e. battle meditation.
Surely the forge could create larger forces to block lasers in such an event, if the forge was operating, a few ships wouldn't matter, as they would be easly rebuilt, and maybe 5 could block the laser from doing much damage, and so eventually the death star goes boom...Or...Everyone has tea and cupcakes and make friends?
Hmm only if enough ships could be churned out quickly.
I'm not sure that a few ships, even ships the size of the Leviathan, could block a turbolaser that has the strength to destroy a planet...but I guess it depends on how fast they're churned out.
@NaturalSelection2 I think what would be really epic, would be the turbolaser (From the deathstar) firing, at the star forge, then all of malaks fleet having to scramble to form a defencive line, maybe what like 12 ships in formation might block the shot? Cause if 2 can survive an onslaught of that much energy fire, then add 10 more onto that and really, the shields+Hull, the laser might get through in the end, but the star forge would probably be able to survive such a weakened laser...
If you think about it for a minute its almost like over time everything decresses in progress. Kreia says in Kotor2 that the old jedi and sith were far beter at a lihtsabor a nd the force then they were then. Not to mention fleet sizes the sith fleet had like thousands of ships at their climatic battle yet the empire only had a couple hundred at their climatic battle. Not to mention the Star Forge is HUGE compared to the Death Star.
i dunno but certinatly more powerful.. this thing breeds ships like mad putting the 2 in a fight i'd say the star forge (with revan in cmd) would be the death star )with vader in cmd(
it is significantly larger then the Death Star, but it's purpose was also very different. the Forge was a shipyard, the Death Star was a battle station.
did the republic even have a standing army besides the old republic army before the rise of the clone army, or did they rely on police forces up until someone else was willing to put up a standing army, or did each republic planet have its own standing army of its own?
Republic didn't have any army before Clone army except this one 4000 before battle of yavin and even then this was eliminated after Ruusan reformation (1000 bby). What was left of it remained more like symbolical force than any Law enforcment force or anything. Some planets like Onderon and Naboo have their own armies and police forces but mostly Jedi keep peace and order ensured.
S1mpukka is correct. The prequel era Republic military was entirely ceremonial, with the day to day security concerns handled at the local level, or by the Jedi and the Judicial Forces. The Judicial Forces operated in an anti-piracy peacekeeping role, check out Wookieepedia for more info.
Man, the Star Forge burns up pretty quick when it drops a few hundred feet. Good thing those tiny fighters that were flying way under it have much better armor, huh?
What i hate about the star wars universe is that the tech you see now is the same tech they have in the movies. EXACT SAME THING. Like they haven't progressed at ALL.
Those ships in the begining remind me of jet skis

another thing, Bastila and Malak would have overrun the galaxy by the numbers game and mediatition.
that is how He was winning after the betrayal.
The Numbers game is often would hellp any military commander of suffice skill.
I am not saying that Malak was clueless about Military stragety but he often used the numbers game to his advantage.
Revan's primary stragety was often to break down the weak points of his enemies.

Experience beats numbers
Malak hade none.
The republic however were made up of several experienced commanders.
FrostFireCarbine 2 years ago
malak was one of the Jedi generals of the Mandalorian Wars second to Revan.
So he had experience from that war.
Well the Sith had many good commanders, but this is star wars. and the good guys always win in the end.

true about the chain of command and the Sith. But any weakness or flaw is an invitation by others for Death.
Sith philosophy is about the Individual and not about the group.
Malak is more of a ground general and not an admiral.
That is why Admiral Saul Karath is important to him.
And what happen to him.
Saul, Bastila and Malak would destroyed the Republic.
Korriban Sith Academy is the classic standard of the pro and cons of Sith philosophy.

Revan was the one who commanded the republic in the mandalorian wars not malak, Following orders does not = Experience.
FrostFireCarbine 2 years ago
another thing, The Sith was holding out for a good while before Revan stop Bastila Shan.
IF Revan would have failed, The Sith would have won due to Bastila's battle mediatition. and Not to Malak's genius.
DeathScepter 2 years ago
The Sith always outnumbered the Republic. Up until the end of the Last Sith War, anyways.
The tactics; however, were poorly organized. As you can see from in game, Malak was more worried about petty vengances than the long term goal. He never grasped Revan's greatest teaching, the ends justify the means.
theprobationer 2 years ago
Look at the size of the Sith fleet in the beginning. For the light side, I'm surprised the Republic fleet can even hold out long enough for Revan to stop Bastila and defeat Malak. With that many ships and Bastila's Battle Meditation, the Sith could've easily wiped out the Republic fleet.
And the Interdictors are gigantic compared to the Republic's Hammerhead cruisers. In the beginning there were dozens of them seen but in the other cutscenes there were only two?
FortitudeOfHeaven 2 years ago
it´s because he didnt put the cutscenes in the right order, to make it more dramatic, the begining cutscene, with the HUGE Sith fleet is the dark side ending were you take control of the Sith and conquer the galaxy....or attempt to conquer it.
swemanD47 2 years ago
I see, but even in the beginning when it pans over the Sith fleet around the Star Forge, the Republic ships were still highly outnumbered.
With all those turbolasers, an Interdictor could do a fly by and obliterate the Republic's formations.
FortitudeOfHeaven 2 years ago
Main problem with the sith is and will always be that they fight constantly internally, While the republic is unified.
Likely they fought internaly inside the sith fleet (while not exactly shooting major ships) but executing commanders and officers etc...
Its like when you disrupt the battle meditation and instantly the entire sith fleet goes into disarray is just more evidence of that.
Short version: Idiots overran the commander, They lost becuase the idiot is not a real commander.
FrostFireCarbine 2 years ago
well also Revan while within the starforge, kept many of the soliders and dark jedi from maning their post on the star forges defenses.
The Republic was using a two prong assault.
With Revan leading the leading the assaut within the star forge
and Admiral dodonna with her fleet.s
Don't forget A stragatic mind trumiph battle mediation.
DeathScepter 2 years ago
The starforges defenses are fully automated i belive.
As i said the most likely reason the sith lost was becuse idiots were in charge of there fleet.
I also thing that the republic fleet size was misrepresented in the game... I think they were ALOT larger then what we see/are lead to belive.
FrostFireCarbine 2 years ago
it looks so realistic, I think they really did a good job

Funny how the Death Star and Star Forge are the exact opposite things, yet they're both just as dangerous to the "good guys," of the films/games.

if this battle lasted longer there sure would have been a 10 times more spaceships than on Endor.

if the sith invaded kamino and used the starforge aswell then they would be unstopable
JIPPIX94 2 years ago
yeah, they would have manned spaceships...
snipperbes 2 years ago
the sith should have totally pwned the republic! i mean, crafting battleships faster than they could be destroyed, is a guaranteed sucess formula.
why do the forces of good always win?
snipperbes 2 years ago
Because the regular fan does not want the bad guys to win.
DarkAmnael 2 years ago
Revan was training the republic to win, malak was a retard and didn't see anything like that, and went on destroying everything. They didn't win because of malak
KotorFan97 2 years ago
damn... George Lucas should make a Star Wars movie where the Sith overruns the Jedi. I want to see that.
snipperbes 2 years ago 7
indeed a kotor movie would probably be a great succes. :D i would pay any price (nearly any) to see it.

Not just a KOTOR movie. A movie where evil triumphs, to feed my evil fantasies (muhahaha).

@projectNL I'd pay normal price, but okay.

Erm, I'm sure in Star Wars episode 3 almost all of the jedi are wiped out..
connorkwl 1 year ago
Yeah, but Episode III was really disappointing to me. We need a totally new movie, perhaps a new genre. In any case not a new Starwars episode or another "expanded universe" movie or such crap, but a movie that's not comparable to Star Wars at all. A new franchise. Anyone interested?

@snipperbes I'm in, lol only kidding.

The beginning cutscene is a really good indication of how much of a threat the Sith are because they can crew all of those ships...
teencomment 2 years ago
most of them are probably crewed by droids though
arcsquad12 2 years ago 3
The starforge can also create living beings, so it is possible that each ship was manned by a full crew of living people.
HopScopCo 2 years ago

MetalliacFeather 3 years ago
Death Star was being built for 19 years. The CIS started construction, but only got a little bit done. The empire picked up with Droids and Slaves building it.
Shootkicksass 2 years ago
The Death Star is bigger i think.
13Psycho13 2 years ago 5
The Star Forge might of been able to channel energy from the star into the Death Star which would of destroyed it instantly. Even with shields and that laser.
HardcoreFlea 3 years ago
Finlandcitizen 3 years ago
It is baseless. I was just assuming that if the factory was practically defenceless to capital ships (it only seems to have had point lasers) it would have had to have some way of destroying them.
Still.. not many other species had capital ships in the era they live in.
HardcoreFlea 3 years ago
Most likely Rakata didn`t thought it like that, in their time of contstrucing thier Empire, they never had real opponents as at the time they were the only one with a hyperdrive.
When they buildet it, it was in the hearth of the Rakatan empire, thry had fleet there to defend their home and Star Forge could supply it indefenetly
Finlandcitizen 3 years ago
Yeah thats what i'd meant. They were no other species capable of fighting them since they had the first hyperdrive.
I dont think the Star Forge was capable of creating capital ships, I think the Leviathan was originally a Republic ship. So I wonder how they conquered planets?
HardcoreFlea 3 years ago
Well we can see in the ending moviet that Leviathan`s come out of the Star Forge and even so was is Dorak from the Dantoiine who said that good part of the invasion fleet was not of Republic origin.
Also, I would doubt that corvette class ships would be able to class Tatoiine to it`s current state, so yeah, I believe that Star Forge was capable of making capital ships back in the times of Rakatan Empire.
I mean, Jesus. With space technology, even we would make capital ships.
Finlandcitizen 3 years ago 2
that was in the starwars knights of the old republic 2 the sith lords right?
spacelink101 3 years ago
This was the climax of the first game. (NOT the sith lords) A large portion of KOTOR 1 revolved around uncovering star maps so that you could locate the Star Forge.
ratioradio 3 years ago
Which do u think is better?
Star Forge or
Death star?
I'd say Star Forge.
bachsin 3 years ago
thats like comparing say an A Bomb with a munitions factory. They are 2 diferent things so you cant say which is "better"
LordDarthHarry 3 years ago
Maybe so, but in terms of their usefulness in a space battle:
The Star Forge could churn out an infinite number of small ships to go aim for the exhaust port. On the other hand, if they didn't hit that target first, the Death Star's turbo laser could potentially knock out or do serious damage to the Star Forge.
It really might depend on quite a few factors, i.e. battle meditation.
NaturalSelection2 3 years ago
Surely the forge could create larger forces to block lasers in such an event, if the forge was operating, a few ships wouldn't matter, as they would be easly rebuilt, and maybe 5 could block the laser from doing much damage, and so eventually the death star goes boom...Or...Everyone has tea and cupcakes and make friends?
Hunock 3 years ago
Hmm only if enough ships could be churned out quickly.
I'm not sure that a few ships, even ships the size of the Leviathan, could block a turbolaser that has the strength to destroy a planet...but I guess it depends on how fast they're churned out.
Yeah, who knows, if Malak and Vader met...
NaturalSelection2 3 years ago
@NaturalSelection2 I think what would be really epic, would be the turbolaser (From the deathstar) firing, at the star forge, then all of malaks fleet having to scramble to form a defencive line, maybe what like 12 ships in formation might block the shot? Cause if 2 can survive an onslaught of that much energy fire, then add 10 more onto that and really, the shields+Hull, the laser might get through in the end, but the star forge would probably be able to survive such a weakened laser...
Hunock 2 years ago
the Republic pwned the sith they got mega ownd

paulo9991 3 years ago
If you think about it for a minute its almost like over time everything decresses in progress. Kreia says in Kotor2 that the old jedi and sith were far beter at a lihtsabor a nd the force then they were then. Not to mention fleet sizes the sith fleet had like thousands of ships at their climatic battle yet the empire only had a couple hundred at their climatic battle. Not to mention the Star Forge is HUGE compared to the Death Star.

yea so true

that thing is bigger then the death star, isn't it?
kingofmonsters14 3 years ago
i dunno but certinatly more powerful.. this thing breeds ships like mad putting the 2 in a fight i'd say the star forge (with revan in cmd) would be the death star )with vader in cmd(
paulo9991 3 years ago
it is significantly larger then the Death Star, but it's purpose was also very different. the Forge was a shipyard, the Death Star was a battle station.
mikdatv 3 years ago 3
i get a hard on everytime i see that ending i dunno why but i do :)

zombinekiller13 3 years ago
did the republic even have a standing army besides the old republic army before the rise of the clone army, or did they rely on police forces up until someone else was willing to put up a standing army, or did each republic planet have its own standing army of its own?
zombinekiller13 3 years ago
Republic didn't have any army before Clone army except this one 4000 before battle of yavin and even then this was eliminated after Ruusan reformation (1000 bby). What was left of it remained more like symbolical force than any Law enforcment force or anything. Some planets like Onderon and Naboo have their own armies and police forces but mostly Jedi keep peace and order ensured.
S1mpukka 3 years ago 2
S1mpukka is correct. The prequel era Republic military was entirely ceremonial, with the day to day security concerns handled at the local level, or by the Jedi and the Judicial Forces. The Judicial Forces operated in an anti-piracy peacekeeping role, check out Wookieepedia for more info.
