  • Those ships in the begining remind me of jet skis

  • what is the music from 3:30-5:31?

  • The dark side ending should have been that but then it goes onto the star forge command bridge and show your charecteor putting revans/her mask back on.

  • what is the music from 0:00 to 0:42?

  • 4:38 "That's no factory...it's a living reaper!"

  • das riesige ding ist die sternenschmiede (aus dem sith-kriegen), oder?

  • has any one noticed that that the kotor 1 battle is actualy way cooler then the mass effect battle? not only that but it also looks better!

  • This is an epic battle and game. I hope that The Old Republic is just as good.

  • y in the world did they destroy it they could have easily beaten the sith in SWTOR if they had the ships from the star forge

  • @theitalianscotdan Becouse:

A: It corrupts everyone inside it, it even corrupted it's own creators.

B: The thing is the size of a small moon, full of soldiers, sith, and droids. And it can materialise new droids to replenish loses. Just try to take that over.

  • @LordDarthHarry well 3 people had no problem infiltraiting it destroying droid factories turning bastila against the sith killed/captured the sith leader and still managed to get everyone out alive.... and for A send in the droids

  • @LordDarthHarry Is it me, or are the ships fatter then they appear in the game cinematics?

  • @LordDarthHarry They could have just taken the debris from the old one and use it to build a new one. One that wasn't powered by the Dark Side.

  • @LordDarthHarry not to mention that at this point revan didnt have any memories about the true sith empire and therefore neither would any other jedi or memeber of the republic. reven was the only one other than malak who knew about them.

  • @theitalianscotdan Even if the republic had captured the Star Forge, the Jedi would destroy it anyway, due to the "dark side corruption".

  • @Unholyinvoker sorry but if the republic really wanted somthing and the jedi said no then then the republic would win simply because of mass soldiers and superior space units

  • @theitalianscotdan Its mostly a matter of aesthetics and economy. See, the Republic really likes all of their stuff painted with red accents. it would cost them billions of credits in supplies and man-power hours to paint that thing red.

Thus, it was just easier to destroy it, rather than repaint it.

  • 2:00 EPIC DESTRUCTION!

  • 7 people weren't in green squardron

  • I can't wait for the MMO!!! I need a btr computer!!!!!!

  • what does star forge do again?

  • @Orcaluv26

it draws energy from (i think) a sun, and creates ships.

Hundreds of thousands. Malak's advisor said it was operating at 300%.

  • lol the entire sith fleet is 2 ships :p

  • I know this is a vid about kotor, but this makes me think of my kotor 2 game that no longer works. :'(

    Oh well.

    LONG LIVE KOTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • @sagemodemaster I mourn you brother.

  • they should remake for the Xbox360

  • Sound? In space?

  • Nice vid! :)

  • Make this into a 3 hour movie of nothing but one continuous space battle...

    OH Yah!!!

  • um at 4:25 the 'sith fleet' is only two ships lol

  • @ash2611 Shit no wonder they one.

  • i like this battle but it is absolutly not possible XD

They are to close to the star, the ships should fry, i doubt their shields are strong enough. And even if the capital ship shield are strong enough, the fighters are not.

    Nhyahaha XD

  • @Kctsu Most things in Star Wars are impossible, sound in space, being able to breathe on Mustafar in Episode 3 without the shielding, ect. But still, great space battle.. I think it's asking too much from a developer to make it spot on real, gotta have some make-believe element to it, ya know?

  • @KotorFan97 Want to know something? Blasters are possible to make, NASA has made Ion Engines ect those are some things for example. I think who cares? Maybe, someday we might have a Lightsaber.

  • @demonnator Hopefully, hopefully. :D Lightsabers would be freaking awesome!

  • @KotorFan97 I think the sound in space thing is there so the viewers don't freak out and think something is wrong with their speakers or get bored with no sound.

Then you have to realise that not everyone who watches Star Wars films and plays the games knows that there's no sound in space. >_>

  • 5:00 now turned mass effect

  • Boooooooo..... LS ending sucks. All hail Lord Revan and the Sith Empire!

  • plzstandbuy:

All the jedi who joined Revan when he attacked the Mandalorians. Which was thousands. Hmm, stay and die from Mandalorian rule, or defeat the Mandalorians and take their helmet, un-unifying them...which would it be? But the Jedi Council would've became Mandalorian. Vandarr's weak as hell.

  • 4 sith disliked seeing their asses getting beaten

  • Salut, je suis francais !

je voudrai savoir avec quoi tu as filmer le jeu ??? je cherche a faire la meme chose sans y parvenir peut tu maider ??

  • 3:30 is my favorite part; gives me goosebumps!

  • theres one thing i didnt get about this the starforge produces the ships but where the hell do they get that many supporters to be the crews of the ships?

  • @Plzstandbuy Hmm I was kinda thinking that. Maybe, since they also produce droids, they can create droid pilots as well.

  • @Plzstandbuy Well you probably just need a few people on the bridge to pilto a ship maybe they'd get more crew on some other planet?

  • Is it just me or do I see a republic ship just laying docked to the starforge when it's about to be destroyed?

  • It gose laggy at 4:37

    By the way great vidieo!!!

    LONG LIVE KOTOR!!!

  • dont they ever use names instead of color designated squadren names

  • I love this video... You did a GREAT JOB on it!!!! ;)

  • i feel like the republics blockade runner ships are upside down, its a weird design

  • Who doesn't love KOTOR? They should make a movie of this...

  • @Gasssolo they definitely should

  • @Gasssolo that movie would kick ass

  • I defenitely see [i]Firespray[/]-class inspiration used in some of the Republic starfighters. Perhaps MandalMotors went under a secret corporate name back then? It could happen. Four-thousand-plus years can change a lot of things. Kind of ironic. The Mandos probably funded their war against the Republic with the very credits they supposedly made from selling starfighters.

  • the firespray-class was made by kuat, not mandalmotors.

  • ahh reminds me of EAW and FOC space battles sniff sniff T_T...

  • @agitoathome i'll be getting FOC tomorrow!

    I LOVE both games!

is the expansion any good? ah, who am i kidding, i'll find out for myself tomorrow, it looks fantastic!

  • @sagemodemaster go ahead its really nice might i suggest after playing the whole game add a few mods like Halo mod

  • lol, since Revan is a guy, what will happen if you choose a female character at the beginning of the game then? xD

  • wtf i didnt see most of those cutscenes in the game O.o

  • Yea, it would be an awsome movie, but it wouldnt work out well, because of all the different decisions that you make throught both kotor games. Thats why I am waiting very patiently for the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Old Republic :D :D :D

  • @Darkhunter5212 dude light side is cannon so they would make the actor of revan do light side choices

    lol

  • KOTOR was awesome much better than Mass Ef ....ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL...

  • I think everything Bioware couldn't do here in terms of "Big Fucking Space Battle", they did in Mass Effect 1.

  • ok so compared to the death star howbig is this star forge....or can i just asume that the death star would be teh same size as the ball in the star forges main body?...second is this BEFORE star wars 1? because the look of those "star destroyers" could pass as being some advanced design...

  • KoTor is WAY before the original Starwars. and i somewhat doubt the Starforge would be bigger than the death star seeing as when the republic ships attack it's, thing that keeps it in orbit it seemed that the cruisers were of decent size comparison to the starforge (though thats not saying alot) so id say that the starforge is remarkably smaller compared to the Death star...

  • thanks for the info. i think a friend of mine had this game...wondered why he had a sword instead of a light saber... made fun of him for that..didnt even have a light saber

  • probably he was still playing the Taris level, when you're not a Jedi yet. I mean, after receiving Jedi training, you receive a lightsaber and it's the best weapon in the game (surprise?).

  • one last thing....what the fuck does the star forge do...i can tell its like sucking it up the star..but the what the fuck for? building somthing that needs a lot of power..or a weapon

  • The starforge is a gigantic factory which produces ships at a frightening rate...

  • how the hell does it build ships using stars? and i goes with a nae like forge. it is like a production line. instead of the way most of the star wars ships are built in dry docks. building them clone after clone in a assembly line fashion would be a very good idea. but if it would be hard to correct falts in the ships construction...like adding new sections in and things like that

  • @TheNightrunner666 I think the whole idea here is "Quantity over quality".

  • @TheNightrunner666 the star is either just there or used to consume power for it too manufacture spaceships

  • @TheNightrunner666 the star forge (according to star wars books and lore) is a VERY VERY old factory in the FAR FAR outer rim built by a species that is so old and extinct that jedi/sith know little about called the Rakata(a species consumed by the dark side). It's said to have near unlimited resources and can build ships/structures quickly.

  • KOTOR takes place about 4000 years before the movies. It follows a war between the Sith Empire and the Old Republic, where the Republic is losing badly.

Those ancient "star destroyers" are Sith ships being massed produced by the Star Forge, a massive factory built by an ancient species which can crank out warships, fighters, and battle droids by the thousands.

The swords are made with a lightsaber resistant material, so Republic troops can fight hand to hand with Dark Jedi.

  • The material is called Cortosis

  • Kotor had a better story than all of the actual Star wars movies.. I fucking loved this game to bits.

I don't think it would translate well into a movie...but one can hope..

  • @aweha I wonder which way they would ,ae Revan go, Light or Dark Side?

  • @aweha yah since it would take a while i mean 4 planets.. training nd such it would be like over 5 hours and not to mention revan constantly doing sidequests lol

  • @aweha The reason it's better than the movies is because it wasn't written by Lucas.

  • @aweha best game i've ever played

  • @aweha Eh, well, depends on your point of view. Just know that that if this hadn't been won by the Republic, the movies couldn't have happened. Consider this a shrug. In0nI

  • @aweha well i wouldn't agree about a betther story but i think that Star Forge makes more sense than Star Destroeyr. -.- "HO!!! I CAN destroy planets! MUAHAHA" Revan: " Shut up Bi&/. my Star Forge can create an army of any size, consumes stars to do so and empowers the dark side of the force."

  • the will of the republic prevails =D

  • I love that S-250 starfighter (the one that looks a bit lke Slave 1). One of the coolest fighters in Star Wars.

If we ever see a Battlefront 3, then it better have the KOTOR era, and huge space battles.

  • another thing, Bastila and Malak would have overrun the galaxy by the numbers game and mediatition.

that is how He was winning after the betrayal.

The Numbers game is often would hellp any military commander of suffice skill.

I am not saying that Malak was clueless about Military stragety but he often used the numbers game to his advantage.

Revan's primary stragety was often to break down the weak points of his enemies.

  • Experience beats numbers

    Malak hade none.

The republic however were made up of several experienced commanders.

  • malak was one of the Jedi generals of the Mandalorian Wars second to Revan.

So he had experience from that war.

Well the Sith had many good commanders, but this is star wars. and the good guys always win in the end.

No matter the numbers game with in Star wars, the heroes always win.

That is why the Rebels in the OT won the Galatic Civil War howbeit the Empire had more of everything.

  • The rebels won the battle of the death star 2 by using tatics the imperials were not prepared for

Malak clearly lacked fleet combat experience..

Sith dont have any kind of solid command chain... Its there curse, They only value strenght which means that any smart commander (unless hes under the protection of the dark lord him/her self) willl get murder'd by his idiot trainee..

  • true about the chain of command and the Sith. But any weakness or flaw is an invitation by others for Death.

Sith philosophy is about the Individual and not about the group.

Malak is more of a ground general and not an admiral.

That is why Admiral Saul Karath is important to him.

    And what happen to him.

Saul, Bastila and Malak would destroyed the Republic.

Korriban Sith Academy is the classic standard of the pro and cons of Sith philosophy.

  • Saul karath was under malaks protection that why none of the other sith shot him.. im guessing if he wasnt he'd be dead before we could kill him..

the thing is without a proper fleet tatican the sith war effort is doomed since they'd lose any major battle bastila was not part of... and then theres always the risk of her dying.

  • Malak had lots of experience. He was in the Mandalorian Wars and he was a republic commander. If it wasn't for Revan he would have won

  • Revan was the one who commanded the republic in the mandalorian wars not malak, Following orders does not = Experience.

  • another thing, The Sith was holding out for a good while before Revan stop Bastila Shan.

IF Revan would have failed, The Sith would have won due to Bastila's battle mediatition. and Not to Malak's genius.

  • The Sith always outnumbered the Republic. Up until the end of the Last Sith War, anyways.

The tactics; however, were poorly organized. As you can see from in game, Malak was more worried about petty vengances than the long term goal. He never grasped Revan's greatest teaching, the ends justify the means.

  • Look at the size of the Sith fleet in the beginning. For the light side, I'm surprised the Republic fleet can even hold out long enough for Revan to stop Bastila and defeat Malak. With that many ships and Bastila's Battle Meditation, the Sith could've easily wiped out the Republic fleet.

And the Interdictors are gigantic compared to the Republic's Hammerhead cruisers. In the beginning there were dozens of them seen but in the other cutscenes there were only two?

  • it´s because he didnt put the cutscenes in the right order, to make it more dramatic, the begining cutscene, with the HUGE Sith fleet is the dark side ending were you take control of the Sith and conquer the galaxy....or attempt to conquer it.

  • I see, but even in the beginning when it pans over the Sith fleet around the Star Forge, the Republic ships were still highly outnumbered.

With all those turbolasers, an Interdictor could do a fly by and obliterate the Republic's formations.

  • Main problem with the sith is and will always be that they fight constantly internally, While the republic is unified.

Likely they fought internaly inside the sith fleet (while not exactly shooting major ships) but executing commanders and officers etc...

Its like when you disrupt the battle meditation and instantly the entire sith fleet goes into disarray is just more evidence of that.

Short version: Idiots overran the commander, They lost becuase the idiot is not a real commander.

  • well also Revan while within the starforge, kept many of the soliders and dark jedi from maning their post on the star forges defenses.

The Republic was using a two prong assault.

With Revan leading the leading the assaut within the star forge

and Admiral dodonna with her fleet.s

Don't forget A stragatic mind trumiph battle mediation.

  • The starforges defenses are fully automated i belive.

As i said the most likely reason the sith lost was becuse idiots were in charge of there fleet.

I also thing that the republic fleet size was misrepresented in the game... I think they were ALOT larger then what we see/are lead to belive.

  • it looks so realistic, I think they really did a good job

  • at 2:35 i always think the lead sith fighter pilot says"Lock V-Wings in attack position." sigh.. my fantasies

  • Ha ha, damn you beat me to it! I was going to do this exact thing! Well, excellent job! I think you did it better than I would have.

  • Funny how the Death Star and Star Forge are the exact opposite things, yet they're both just as dangerous to the "good guys," of the films/games.

  • sith must be obsesed with pizza

  • Is Carth Kaiden from Mass Effect?

  • Mass Effect came out years after this game, so I doubt it...

  • yeah but is the voice actor the same cause it sure as hell sounds like him

  • it's the same voice actor

  • yes same voice actor

  • i think so, same voice you mean?

  • That is so cool.

  • the siths ships have lighter gun turrets

  • bah battle of Endor had more starships... hough this onde is also nice...

  • if this battle lasted longer there sure would have been a 10 times more spaceships than on Endor.

  • if the sith invaded kamino and used the starforge aswell then they would be unstopable

  • yeah, they would have manned spaceships...

  • the sith should have totally pwned the republic! i mean, crafting battleships faster than they could be destroyed, is a guaranteed sucess formula.

why do the forces of good always win?

  • Because the regular fan does not want the bad guys to win.

  • Revan was training the republic to win, malak was a retard and didn't see anything like that, and went on destroying everything. They didn't win because of malak

  • damn... George Lucas should make a Star Wars movie where the Sith overruns the Jedi. I want to see that.

  • indeed a kotor movie would probably be a great succes. :D i would pay any price (nearly any) to see it.

  • Not just a KOTOR movie. A movie where evil triumphs, to feed my evil fantasies (muhahaha).

  • @projectNL I'd pay normal price, but okay.

  • Erm, I'm sure in Star Wars episode 3 almost all of the jedi are wiped out..

  • Yeah, but Episode III was really disappointing to me. We need a totally new movie, perhaps a new genre. In any case not a new Starwars episode or another "expanded universe" movie or such crap, but a movie that's not comparable to Star Wars at all. A new franchise. Anyone interested?

  • @snipperbes I'm in, lol only kidding.

  • Comment removed

  • The beginning cutscene is a really good indication of how much of a threat the Sith are because they can crew all of those ships...

  • most of them are probably crewed by droids though

  • The starforge can also create living beings, so it is possible that each ship was manned by a full crew of living people.

  • I like the way they did not neglect the space part of the battle for the star forge, and the way they interlinked when you redeemed Bastilla and she would use her battle meditation agiainst the Sith showing a clip of the Republic armada advancing through the Sith lines.

I liked the design for the Leviathan aswell, so unusual to have a two pronged hull. The Leviathan was a republic capital ship but Revan and Malak stole their flagships of the class and then the starforge replicated them.

  • Hey, at 0:29 there's this weird-looking fighter that flies by the right side of the screen....

  • Thats a Sith Shuttle. You can see 1 of those in the sith hangar on Manaan

  • the star forge i believe is a lot bigger then the death star for heaven sakes.. the star forge was built by slaves.. while the death star was built by clones ina short time.. so the star forge might be 2 to 3 times bigger then the death star

  • Death Star was being built for 19 years. The CIS started construction, but only got a little bit done. The empire picked up with Droids and Slaves building it.

  • The Death Star is bigger i think.

  • The Star Forge might of been able to channel energy from the star into the Death Star which would of destroyed it instantly. Even with shields and that laser.

  • ... That idea is baseless. Star Forge was constructed to build an army. Rakantan`s didin`t need a weapon, they needet a factory and that`s what it is. A simple factory with the trait to the Dark Side.

Also if it would channel energy by your logic, then it would just get extra energy to fire new shots.

  • It is baseless. I was just assuming that if the factory was practically defenceless to capital ships (it only seems to have had point lasers) it would have had to have some way of destroying them.

Still.. not many other species had capital ships in the era they live in.

  • Most likely Rakata didn`t thought it like that, in their time of contstrucing thier Empire, they never had real opponents as at the time they were the only one with a hyperdrive.

When they buildet it, it was in the hearth of the Rakatan empire, thry had fleet there to defend their home and Star Forge could supply it indefenetly

  • Yeah thats what i'd meant. They were no other species capable of fighting them since they had the first hyperdrive.

I dont think the Star Forge was capable of creating capital ships, I think the Leviathan was originally a Republic ship. So I wonder how they conquered planets?

  • Well we can see in the ending moviet that Leviathan`s come out of the Star Forge and even so was is Dorak from the Dantoiine who said that good part of the invasion fleet was not of Republic origin.

Also, I would doubt that corvette class ships would be able to class Tatoiine to it`s current state, so yeah, I believe that Star Forge was capable of making capital ships back in the times of Rakatan Empire.

I mean, Jesus. With space technology, even we would make capital ships.

  • that was in the starwars knights of the old republic 2 the sith lords right?

  • This was the climax of the first game. (NOT the sith lords) A large portion of KOTOR 1 revolved around uncovering star maps so that you could locate the Star Forge.

  • Which do u think is better?

    Star Forge or

    Death star?

    I'd say Star Forge.

  • thats like comparing say an A Bomb with a munitions factory. They are 2 diferent things so you cant say which is "better"

  • Maybe so, but in terms of their usefulness in a space battle:

The Star Forge could churn out an infinite number of small ships to go aim for the exhaust port. On the other hand, if they didn't hit that target first, the Death Star's turbo laser could potentially knock out or do serious damage to the Star Forge.

It really might depend on quite a few factors, i.e. battle meditation.

  • Surely the forge could create larger forces to block lasers in such an event, if the forge was operating, a few ships wouldn't matter, as they would be easly rebuilt, and maybe 5 could block the laser from doing much damage, and so eventually the death star goes boom...Or...Everyone has tea and cupcakes and make friends?

  • Hmm only if enough ships could be churned out quickly.

I'm not sure that a few ships, even ships the size of the Leviathan, could block a turbolaser that has the strength to destroy a planet...but I guess it depends on how fast they're churned out.

Yeah, who knows, if Malak and Vader met...

  • @NaturalSelection2 I think what would be really epic, would be the turbolaser (From the deathstar) firing, at the star forge, then all of malaks fleet having to scramble to form a defencive line, maybe what like 12 ships in formation might block the shot? Cause if 2 can survive an onslaught of that much energy fire, then add 10 more onto that and really, the shields+Hull, the laser might get through in the end, but the star forge would probably be able to survive such a weakened laser...

  • the Republic pwned the sith they got mega ownd

  • WOOT go the Republic!

  • i think that the republic capital ships look fucking badass,,, sith do not <8D all hail the republic and the jedi

  • i agree the reps have cooler stuff but im a sith fan srry. =(

  • eww

  • yeah the rep have a cool looking ships but.. Sith ftw

  • If you think about it for a minute its almost like over time everything decresses in progress. Kreia says in Kotor2 that the old jedi and sith were far beter at a lihtsabor a nd the force then they were then. Not to mention fleet sizes the sith fleet had like thousands of ships at their climatic battle yet the empire only had a couple hundred at their climatic battle. Not to mention the Star Forge is HUGE compared to the Death Star.

  • yea so true

  • This has to be one of, if not the best space in Star wars.

  • that thing is bigger then the death star, isn't it?

  • i dunno but certinatly more powerful.. this thing breeds ships like mad putting the 2 in a fight i'd say the star forge (with revan in cmd) would be the death star )with vader in cmd(

  • it is significantly larger then the Death Star, but it's purpose was also very different. the Forge was a shipyard, the Death Star was a battle station.

  • i get a hard on everytime i see that ending i dunno why but i do :)

  • Man, KOTOR is a great game - the ending battle for the Star Forge is one of most epic story for a RPG.

  • hmm, i did not know that, thank you for answering my question though

  • did the republic even have a standing army besides the old republic army before the rise of the clone army, or did they rely on police forces up until someone else was willing to put up a standing army, or did each republic planet have its own standing army of its own?

  • Republic didn't have any army before Clone army except this one 4000 before battle of yavin and even then this was eliminated after Ruusan reformation (1000 bby). What was left of it remained more like symbolical force than any Law enforcment force or anything. Some planets like Onderon and Naboo have their own armies and police forces but mostly Jedi keep peace and order ensured.

  • S1mpukka is correct. The prequel era Republic military was entirely ceremonial, with the day to day security concerns handled at the local level, or by the Jedi and the Judicial Forces. The Judicial Forces operated in an anti-piracy peacekeeping role, check out Wookieepedia for more info.

  • this is what space battles in swbf2 shouldve been like

  • if the space battles in swbf2 were like this, id be like "screw it, im just gonna watch ships explode from the safety of my ray shielded hanger ^^"

  • Lets see if that can beat MY HUGE Rebel Fleet

  • Man, the Star Forge burns up pretty quick when it drops a few hundred feet. Good thing those tiny fighters that were flying way under it have much better armor, huh?

  • @Ved0000 Makes you think ^^

  • What i hate about the star wars universe is that the tech you see now is the same tech they have in the movies. EXACT SAME THING. Like they haven't progressed at ALL.
