  • U are using canon7D in this movie?

  • @SasaYamaoka Sony EX1, this was from 2 years ago :)

  • Very Nice! I think you could have done a better job with perhaps a macro shot on him setting down the can, and throwing out the sandwich, instead of the iris effect...

  • great lighting

  • Good work you guys.

Now it's time to concentrate on sound!

You guys need a mic! The camera one does not suffice.

  • Oh, we've never used the onboard mic. We shoot with a Sennheiser MKH-60 :)

  • There is a lot of hollowness in your audio...

Maybe the mic should be closer.

Use post to adjust the equalizer settings.

  • hey guys.

what kind of camera did you shoot with?

  • We shoot all our stuff with a Sony PMW-EX1 :)

  • wow.. one awesome video :D

  • sort of scary, more like funny scary.

  • haha 7:00 freaked me out

  • Super scarry film, nice feeling, I was realy sucked in to it! Was scarry when I saw the pepsi there for the second time, and all talk about monsters like in the scene from Mulholland Drive!

  • haha. good, except, i dont think we needed to have the pepsi can and the sandwich pointed out to us THAT much. lol

  • i'd say that you're very knowledgeable in cameras and lighting, etc but you only have knowledge of the materialistic aspects of making a movie. in this film or skit or whatever you might call it i see no imagination no creativity. no solid connectable story line, it need more imaginable substance. other than being original is was good. kinda reminded me of how early films were made scene by scene. you will do great things when you have experience no doubt.

  • I never admired this script to begin with. My initial script, in fact, was too dense to be shot in one night (by Halloween). So at the last hurried minute I replaced it with this one, which was literally written in two hours, from concept to final draft...an hour before we shot.

I can't say I'm proud of it; but considering it had a total production time of eight hours and would have been an early bird in those cute 24hr film contests, I'm not too disappointed.

  • "can you. . . check behind me?" aHHhhHhHHHhHHHhhHhHHHHHHHHHhHh!

  • one of your most impressive films to date, if not your most. Great job guys!

  • ive been on the scarlet user forums lately and wasn't sure if you guys already new but they're gonna be revealing the redesign of the scarlet november 13th. just lettin you know if you werent already aware.

  • Hehe, thanks. I'm pretty active over on the scarletuser forum - so I've had my calendar marked!

  • Very nice!

  • All of these were amazing!

  • i thought that was awesome. the camera work was very nice. those dolly shots......beautiful! cant wait for you guys to make some more shorts

  • i enjoyed it!! it was pretty good!! what camera r u using now btw??

  • Thanks :)

We're using the Sony PMW-EX1. And next year we'll be upgrading to the Red Scarlet!

  • Wow i cant wait to see you guys's video from the red scarlet.

  • Tight editing and good execution!!

I was able to get into the story without having to pay attention to the camerawork and sound - nice job!

    Question:

    - what's with Peter and toilets?

    - do you guys change surnames from time to time?

  • Definitely agree! The mirror shot was especially great. I don't think you really needed that much emphasis on the pepsi and sandwich, though. It would have been fine without the black circles you added in post.

  • Watched it for the second time. I like how Sean talks and how he's always shot in the shadow or as a silhouette. That was great acting drew... The hugging scene seemed kinda random though, hehe.

  • Heh. As Sean's character says, "This is pretty random." As for the story, I still think the plotting is a little too anemic. We originally intended to shoot a more dense script that I wrote. But it was too long and required an elaborate prop that would be difficult to build by the Halloween deadline.

So on the night we were to shoot my segment I pounded my head against the wall (not literally) until I came up with this one.

  • I had faith that Peter's short was going to be better written than the other two (No offense Sean & Drew, hehe). Although I think the dialogue could have been better at some places, I think the film was extremely well shot and cleverly edited. It was tense, and I really enjoyed it! Good work Peter :)

  • Funny. i love how Drew was so dramatic and Sean didn't have a care in the world. I'm surprised you didn't do the usual flash of your dog at the end Sean :-)

  • Hehe, Peter wouldn't have let me :P

  • lol

  • Heh, is that a good lol?

  • yea

    it was so funny!!!!

when he takes a dump haha

    LOL!

    AND EVERYTHING ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
