When were SADF chased out? SADF had free reign in angola. Why would they want to capture Luanda? The point was to kill swapo scum, not take over the country. Apartheid ended due to international pressure and because the soviet union collapsed. Without the soviets, cuba and their commie friends could get no support and so were no threat to SA. There was no reason to capture it.
