Hi, how do you prevent the strobe light from blowing the fuses? Is there an equipment for that? I recently bought a strobe kit, and the circuit breaker blew out when I used three strobes.
I've been a commercial fashion photographer off and on for nearly 30 years & use umbrellas exclusively since the light spread is wider, allowing the model to move in front of the camera without much impact on the lighting. More directional lighting, such as that from a reflector or mid-size to smaller softbox, would not so easily allow movement by the model. A large softbox will accomplish the same, but is more expensive, uses more floor space, & so on.
To anoblemanforlife: I use hot lights and have for years. However it all comes down to what direction you see your photography career going. I specialize in commercial products, architecture and art. I feel as though I have much more control with with hot lights when it comes to painting with light. Hot lights also give me the added advantage of using color temperature shifting for more artistic control as well. BTW...Great video.
First of all, great video! Question? Do you think a 1000 watt continuous lighting kit is good for starters? I do not have enough money to get the alien bees strobes, transmitters, and accessories right now,or I would get these.

Ooooook. I learned absolutely nothing about the two. She took a minute and 30 something seconds to describe to us what she has.
