Why and how do some canaries get such flat ruffled feathers on their head? I bought my canaries less than a week ago. I got 2 canaries and 2 finches sharing a cage. What can I do to make them more comfortable.

Great singing! My Dante sounds just like Peaches. He stopped singing earlier this year while he molted. After listening to Peaches over and over he is starting to sing again!! Thanks Peaches!!! Keep on singing

Not too my knowledge.  He seems just fine and happy as it is and I've never done anything to it. He's going on 2-3 yrs old now, and it always looks the same.

Great vid. My canaries have a huge cage and they sing long and loud! Whenever I have to transport them in small cages they are quiet. (I raised all but the daddy in a huge cage, maybe thats why they hate the small one.?)

It's actually common for Canaries to preffer to sing better in a small cage. When people who show their American Singer Canaries go out on competition, the show cages are very small for that purpose. This doesn't mean that their owners are mistreating them, it just means that they know where their Canaries like to sing.

For those who are curious. He's singing in the small cage I bought him in. He actually has a nice big long cage to fly in now, which you can see in my other videos, PEACHES GIVES KISSIES and PEACHES FEEDS THE BABY. I can't help it he chose to sing up a storm in the smaller cage.

It doesn't matter how many times you explain it. Some people will always think that what would be more comfortable to them would be more comfortable to a pet. Oh God, giv him bigger cage plese !! His tail is fuzzy from every movement, poor bird he can not fly at all. Every cage should have two perches in the distance allowing minimal flying at least.
