I went to non-touristic Cuba once and I know what I'm talking about, I know what I saw, what I heard and what I perceived from the despair and fear in people's faces. Cuba is a concentration camp, if they try to leave, they get killed. You are constantly being asked in secret by cubans to buy them forbidden "anti-revolutionary" stuff like milk, soap or even some medicin which only Castro's hitmen and tourists have access to. The place is falling apart and people live in infrahuman conditions.

Castro did an ok job...some people may hate him but he had more doctors working overseas than most if not all supposed 1st world countries like the USA and Canada. The cuban armies work the socially grown fields to feed the poor in that country, health care is free to the people, crime in cuba is lower than the US, unemployment is lower...really the worst hes done is limit consumerism and private selling of housing and land. And all this while living under a ban on trade and US pressure.

He had his doctors working overseas when they should have been home helping his own people. Go see some of the latest vids from the people living there. I have a friend from there who tells me she had friends who had to sell their bodies just to be able to buy sanitary napkins. You know what it means when they say "I had a friend."
