Finntroll come from Finnland. In Finnland both finnish and swedish are spoken languages. Finntroll speak finnish (and I guess sometimes swedish too), but their songs are swedish only.
That's why you can hear finnish before and after the song. ;)
(English is not my mother tongue, so I'm sorry, if it's not the best...)
I have a question for the Swedish speakers too. What does all the things they say in the begining and end of the song. I cant find what theysay anywhere. Can someone please translate?!
Just to make things clear. Talking before and after are in Finnish. The song itself are in Swedish.
As sorce to this statement i use myself. I live in Sweden and speak swedish. Im of Finnish origin and are studying to learn Finnish atm. But Im to noobish in Finnish to help you awnser your question.
ok before the song they are just like warming up to sing it ( maybe 2-3 of them actually speaks swedish. u can hear that they pronunce a bit funny) and after the song they cheer and one of them wants to sing some more :P

Love this song (!!!), but I have two comments / questions for Swedish speakers (cause I am NOT one of them):
1. "Visste vem som hade vällt ut skogstrollets sup"
the translation says sup means drink but don't they mean soup?
2. "Men inget djur i skogen eller grottans djup"
Is there a word missing in this line? they say something like /tsjareh/? What do they say?
vlinderke123 2 years ago
ah, answer to question 2 is kära?
vlinderke123 2 years ago
kära = dear :D

hmm... that doesn't make a LOT of sence to me :p but how about question 1? 1. "Visste vem som hade vällt ut skogstrollets sup"
the translation says sup means drink but don't they mean soup?
vlinderke123 2 years ago
sup is drink... i don´t know what they mean. It´s not soup for sure.
Up3The3Irons 2 years ago
@Up3The3Irons
Sup = drink
Sentence:
Swedish: Ska vi gå och ta en sup? Köper du mig en sup?
English: Shall we go take a drink? Will you buy me a drink/beer?
Yesterhead91 1 year ago
@vlinderke123 "Sup" means a small drink of very high alcoholic percent. Soup in Swedish is "Soppa".

@NFMCGorsa Here in Finland we also say soup (actually it's "keitto/liemi" in Finnish).

Its like no one knew who spilled the forest trolls ale
AndreasEklund91 1 year ago
1. Not quiet, sup isn't really drink.
It's more like shot, or dram.
Alcoholic drink more or less. ;)
2. They say 'But no animal in the forest or the deep caves' and it's not a word missing, it is a correct sentence. :)
sjunkbomb123 2 years ago
1= sup = alcoholic drink
2= no its right... haha u mean kära himmlens barn?..
flashOFmetal 2 years ago
1. sup is referring to mjöd which means mead (honey wine)
2. I thinks kära is missing in the lyircs
