For those who don't know, Mike Monsoor was a Navy Corpsman who jumped on a hand grenade to save some Navy Seals he was working on. That is the ultimate sacrifice and a true hero.

The music is the atmospheric "Sergeant McKenzie". A Fifer from the last ancient Kingdom in Scotland, Fife, and a proud man he was even on his death at the hands of a German rifleman. This took place I believe on the Fields of Flander, during the first world war. God Bless his soul. The word Grund, indicating ground is a dead give away as to his roots in Fife. Reputed to be the most course of the Scottish dialects.
I may add, for doubters, that my Grandfather, also a Fifer from Kirkcaldy, was a Seaforth Highlander and gave his life on the beaches of Salerno, during the Second world war. This music holds a piece of my heart, which I hold dearly to me.

I would just like to thank all those brave men's and women who put their lives on the risk to save others both American but also all the soldiers from other countries who also fight in the war against terror and for freedom to all! I myself are a Dane and we have also lost some brave mens to the war - great thanks to all Soldiers of the free world !

I too have seen my friends killed, one who saved my life was killed doing so. From my 6 man unit, 3 have been lost and the rest of us have been wounded. RIP my brothers, I'll see you soon.

well just line us up and shoot us than. my grandfather fought in WWII and never told any one not even his my parents or uncles. we found out after he died and had to go thru his estate we found a jurnal of his tour and the stuff he must have seen it must have been horrible to keep it a secret from his whole family

You're right, stupid democracy. We should have just let Saddam Hussein continue to murder innocent people. Even if it is completely about the oil, am I to assume you have never driven a car and live in a cave? Probably not, so unless you are doing some amature prospecting in your back yard, you really have no right to criticize how Bush gets you oil. You can't support soldiers while at the same time saying the cause they are fighting for is bunk.

Well everyone loves our boys right? We hope they all come home. The war is partialy over oil. Yet most all wars are over money anyway. The Revolutionary war was sparked by people not wanting to pay taxes and lead to establishing a democracy where the people have say as to who is their leader on their terms.

My grandfather is from Germany and fought in the war for his country. To this day he will not speak about all of the horrible things he was asked to do. Our soldiers should be held high for all the sacrifices they have made.

a very moving tribute to very ordinary people who are doing something extraodinary in these times, standing up and being counted , sacrificing all for the freedoms we all take for granted , I grew up speaking english because the same ordinary people did the same sixty years ago. it is a debt I will never forget or ever be able to repay , god bless you all and bring you all home safe to your loved ones.

My friend Donovan was KIA in Baghdad Iraq on 21 August 2007 along with SSGT. Sandy R. Britt. I played this song along with taps in the veteran section of Pine Crest Memorial Park 2 weeks later in their memory. Donovan I love you Bro and I will be with you soon.

My grandfather served as a marine in Vietnam I dont think he'd ever be able to tell me what that was like espicially when coming back home he must have met alot of hatred. I can't imagine what that would be like.

The weird thing is, the song played in this tribute to American soldiers was originally a lament for a British soldier during the First World War.
My point of view: Even if we don't like the war, we should respect the soldiers for the sacrifices they are willing to make.

I salute all our men and women in uniform and my heart goes out to all the families that have lost a loved one in service to others. My son was Army Airborne for 5 years. After serving his country he came home only to be Killed in the Line of Duty as a Chicago Police Officer on 8/8/04. This song is very dear to me-thanks for the video.

I was the first one to post a comment on 116pvi's tribute to our fallen hero's and I must say that I am very proud of him and everyone that responded.I don't think that there was one negative remark about it.This song touches veterans or anyone who knew a vet on so many levels.I served with the 101st Airborne Division and the 2nd ID and my cousin served in the Marine Corp for 20 some years.We know what it is about.God Bless.

I Think Hero/legend is the right terms for all the soldiers of the country, cause they fight till there last breath and risk all for freedom of there fellow countrymen , so we can breath the free air and walk on free lands, its country governs/Judiciary system who should be more responsible for world peace , cause soldiers duty is to fight and protect when they are told to so and they do it on there life's.

You say you are not willing to take orders from a chimp. Its not as simple as taking orders. Its called pride and love of country. Most Irishmen understand this. You obviously don't. The music is the atmospheric "Sergeant McKenzie". A Fifer from the last ancient Kingdom in Scotland, Fife, and a proud man he was even on his death at the hands of a German rifleman. This took place I believe on the Fields of Flander, during the first world war. God Bless his soul. The word Grund, indicating ground is a dead give away as to his roots in Fife. Reputed to be the most course of the Scottish dialects.

I may add, for doubters, that my Grandfather, also a Fifer from Kirkcaldy, was a Seaforth Highlander and gave his life on the beaches of Salerno, during the Second world war. This music holds a piece of my heart, which I hold dearly to me.
