That's not an issue the end user needs to be worried about. Also, only 15,000? Well about 20 of my friends, all who waited with me to get the iPhone 4, all had that issue.
I've held a lot of iPhone 4's in my left hand in many different positions with no case. And guess what happened? NOTHING! It's only the certain way some people hold it that causes the problem. I don't actually know anybody that holds it that way. I did make a video though of me holding an iPhone 4 in this particular way and it only went down to three bars.

Next time your boss/teacher/client or anyone who is evaluating your work tells you that they are not satisfied with your performance simply tell them that there are other people out there who can do just as bad of a job as you. Oh and while you are at it make sure you mock up some visual 'solution' or 'patch' to make yourself look better while not addressing the issue. Pathetic.
oh yes and it wasn't entirely true that its a problem with other phones because it was a problem with alot of last generation phones. Very few have this problem and the ones that do are no way near as severe as the iphones problem
"A better idea" would be to re-design it so it doesn't have this problem but keep it under wraps and make it look exactly the same so people don't notice its a re-design and then laugh at apple for its cock-up again
