Rough men does not equal ruthless careless sadistic torturers, in case you didn't notice. I can't believe a warsupporter like you actually quoted Orwell. If he could, he'd walk out of his grave and slap you around for abusing his name like that. This entire war was illegal and never should've taken place. Lol, you're the one acting all smartass, plus you're wrong in your 'correction'. I meant exactly what i meant, not what you want me to mean. Empathy = putting yourself in the shoes of another, often less fortunate being than yourself. Sympathy = feeling for them. I think the first is a lot more important. Next time you're so eager to correct, why don't YOU learn the meaning of the words you use.

Without the freedom to make public use of one's reason in all matter's we might be left to face Orwell's dystopian warning as a reality: 'If you want a vision for the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever.' No authority can bind particular groups into a set of unalterable truths but if not all doctrines are subject to rational scrutinising, there remains only oppressive totalitarianism and dogmatism, and the slowing down of enlightenment.
