@amcandy1 I ran a manual transmission. Lokar does make a number kickdown cable kits; all you would have to do is see which one best fits your application.
@jeep87cherokee Sadly, I did not build it originally; Clifford Performance did back in '95, I would have to look at the build sheet. The video was taken right after I rebuilt it due to bad cam bearings.
@stephenjray1988 The stroker is a 4.0L (242cid) with a 4.2L (258cid) crank and rods. Just to get 4.7L it has to be bored .060 over. To get to 4.9L is a lot more work and a lot more money unless you know how to do everything. The 258 is a reliable motor, but it will never be a powerhouse without a lot of time and money. If you really want to make some power in a CJ, swap in a v8. There are write ups online that can help you along the way.
Just the motor

Man I love that, what did you do specifically to make it 4.9L instead of the typical 4.6or 4.7s ?

@happyguy2300 Honestly, I can't remember for sure, but I think it was Clifford 97-2111. The biggest they made at the time.

chorstma44 10 months ago
@chorstma44 No carb, it ran on propane pretty well.

how do you stroke it im new at jeeps and i have a cj7 with 258 just wandering what crank combination you used?
stephenjray1988 1 year ago
@stephenjray1988 well for a cheap alternative you could use a 4.2 L wrangler crank and chevy 350 pistons that would be around 4.7L

@Amras0407 I agree that a v8 is a great swap but ive got a lot more power in my 4.2 with a cam upgrade and swaping the stock carb out.

my cherokee has an l6 it went from 4.0L to 5.2L
PollosHP 1 year ago
@PollosHP No...that's impossible unless you put in a completely different engine. The 4.0 can't be stroked to 5.2L.

@EmX3Ed Really don't know since I never bothered to put it on a dyno. My guess would be 350-375 torque.
