The American military's social system is highly regarded as one of the best in the world. I know war widows who refuse to marry because they don't want to lose their medical benefits. I was raised on American social medicine through the United States Navy on a NATO base. It was great. I even got free dental. The military system is first rate. I pay taxes to keep it first rate. I'd pay even more taxes if I could have equivalent benefits at the same low rates.

that's because NEAR a base, their primary health care facility IS the base. which will have at least modern equipment and is at least staffed mostly with members of the military who try. VA blows and always had cause it's all federal employee and they get paid no matter what. the only reason military healthcare is even tolerable is because it SOAKS up a lot of money. why does it suck is because you have NO say in what you get, when you get or even IF you get treated.
Your experiences getting your teeth cleaned growing doesn't let you see the real problems. people in the military can wait up to a year to get a surgery, or get sent away and told to deal with their hernia but come back if it gets to the "requisite" size that allows them to oeprate. better yet, go to a navy hospital and complain of hearing loss see what they do.
I am the primary caregiver for three elderly people who depend on the military hospitals for their medical care. What you describe is something I have never seen or heard of am I'm at the military hospital on a weekly basis. I've never heard of. There is a pecking order, however. Active duty personnel are served first according to rank, then retired career officers and enlisted and so on down to dependents. If you're a non-career enlisted person you may have to wait.
perhaps you can explain the "pecking" order to my squad leader with his torn shoulder he's sucked up for the last 15 months. or to my previous Saw gunner with his torn groin he went 3 years unable to get Navy Medicine to fix until it atrophied the size of a grapfruit bulging out of his thigh, or the wife of my Marine who's baby developed without a brain that Tricare said "you have to deliver it anyway, we don't abort." to name just a few.
The abortion issue isn't an insurance issue - it's a political and administrative problem that is not peculiar to the military. Most insurers don't authorize abortions unless the mother's life is in danger because most gynos won't perform abortions. Forgive me, but you sound young. We old folks know that soft tissue is slow to heal and though surgery is often an option, not usually advised to the young because it can permanently limit mobility. Encourage them to hang in. My 91 year-old mother-in-law may be "an active professional force" but never even served - yet she's had excellent medical care as a dependent under the military system since she was only 16 years old. My 82 year-old career military dad would jump back into service in heartbeat if he were called upon, but not my 81 year-old mom. But she could argue the constitution with you. She'd tell you that her medical care is certainly not guaranteed under the constitution.

My employer pays over $1200 per month for my coverage. Take that times 43,000 employees and tell me health care expenses are not hurting business in this country. We have given up pay raises to keep our coverage at the level we enjoy now. Those raises would have translated into money flowing into the economy.

Read Deuteronomy 15:12 and following - it addresses slavery pretty specifically. It tells Hebrews that if another Hebrew is sold to you as a slave then you must free him after six years - which implies of course that nonhebrews may be kept as slaves indefinitely.
To say that the god of the bible doesn't condone slavery is to lie to yourself and to others.

It was even endorsed that slaves be beaten with an appropriate sized weapon and the owner would not be held accountable if the slave were to die a day or two later from his injuries. The American military's social system is highly regarded as one of the best in the world. I know war widows who refuse to marry because they don't want to lose their medical benefits. I was raised on American social medicine through the United States Navy on a NATO base. It was great. I even got free dental. The military system is first rate. I pay taxes to keep it first rate. I'd pay even more taxes if I could have equivalent benefits at the same low rates.

I just pay out of pocket if I need a doctor. Not really, I'm smart enough to have an account strictly for medical. But anyways, I'm paying out of pocket and will NEVER go to the VA hospital free or not. That should tell you something.

Can't access why you're having such problems. I live in a military neighborhood among retirees. No complaints beyond the usual natterings of old people about their doctors. I sure don't any military people who have the funds to pay for their health care out of pocket. Good on you! Wealth is a happy thing.

that's because NEAR a base, their primary health care facility IS the base. which will have at least modern equipment and is at least staffed mostly with members of the military who try. VA blows and always had cause it's all federal employee and they get paid no matter what. the only reason military healthcare is even tolerable is because it SOAKS up a lot of money. why does it suck is because you have NO say in what you get, when you get or even IF you get treated.

Your experiences getting your teeth cleaned growing doesn't let you see the real problems. people in the military can wait up to a year to get a surgery, or get sent away and told to deal with their hernia but come back if it gets to the "requisite" size that allows them to oeprate. better yet, go to a navy hospital and complain of hearing loss see what they do.

I am the primary caregiver for three elderly people who depend on the military hospitals for their medical care. What you describe is something I have never seen or heard of am I'm at the military hospital on a weekly basis. I've never heard of. There is a pecking order, however. Active duty personnel are served first according to rank, then retired career officers and enlisted and so on down to dependents. If you're a non-career enlisted person you may have to wait.

The abortion issue isn't an insurance issue - it's a political and administrative problem that is not peculiar to the military. Most insurers don't authorize abortions unless the mother's life is in danger because most gynos won't perform abortions. Forgive me, but you sound young. We old folks know that soft tissue is slow to heal and though surgery is often an option, not usually advised to the young because it can permanently limit mobility. Encourage them to hang in. It will pass.

But the best health care systems in the world do procedures "on the wrong ankle" they always have, they always will. I'd take the military system or one modeled like it over all others I've seen. 19 years as a United States Marine and yes, I've been in many military hospitals all over the world. the purpose of the military healtcare system is the same as the military logistical system or the military food service system...to support the fighting force. were there no Army, there'd be no Army medical corps. like all support branches of the miitary they are beauracratic systems that lose money but are kept in place to keep the fighting force operational.

My 91 year-old mother-in-law may be "an active professional force" but never even served - yet she's had excellent medical care as a dependent under the military system since she was only 16 years old. My 82 year-old career military dad would jump back into service in heartbeat if he were called upon, but not my 81 year-old mom. But she could argue the constitution with you. She'd tell you that her medical care is certainly not guaranteed under the constitution.

Get your facts straight. If you don't work 40 quarters minimum, you don't get SS at retirement, and you have to work 10 quarters to get disability bennies (I'll admit there are a lot of bullshit disability claims).
As for your claim about illegals, you're fucked in the head. Most illegals here work under fake SS numbers, so they pay into the system but will never get anything out of it. One report I saw showed that illegals paid in an extra ten billion dollars to SS a couple of years ago.

There are laws against vagrancy. According to most municipal codes it is unlawful for you to be without a home address. That because vagrancy causes city blight and puts stress on public services that are covered by taxpaying citizens. Medical vagrancy is taxing the system. Neither the insured or the uninsured plans to encounter hundreds of thousands in medical costs - but those costs often get paid regardless and they are covered by doctors, hospitals and taxpayers.

When the dust settles it will be as it always is, the middle American that has some kind of ins. will be penalized with a new tax, an alteration of their adequate care, and a swelling deficit leading to more inflation They (the gov) pay $400 for hammers for goodness sakes. My employer pays over $1200 per month for my coverage. Take that times 43,000 employees and tell me health care expenses are not hurting business in this country. We have given up pay raises to keep our coverage at the level we enjoy now. Those raises would have translated into money flowing into the economy.

Science is dealing black eyes to the Bible almost on a daily basis at this point. Ofcourse old superstisions are slow to be shed but they are always shed eventually. Like all religions Christianity will eventually die out. Even the early christains knew this thats why they tried to insulate themselves against it with passages about non believers. (cont.)

Actually you're absolutely incorrect. I was raised a staunch Southern Baptist and even attended the Thomas Road Baptist Church pastored by none other than Jerry Falwell himself. It wasn't until I really researched the origins of the Bible that I even questioned my faith, It took years after that for me to admit to myself that this story of "God" was a hoax. I can't understand why more people don't research the basis of their religion. They would be as suprised as I was.

comon sense dictates that god was a living man, but the majority of churches dont look at things that way. they might be reading more into the story than it says plainly. for example, in the several religions of Ja, God is considered probably a real story based on a real life guy. same with jesus. Socrates, Buddah, Confucious, Jesus, God.. all those guys were probably real people.

Also it is most likely the original Jews were in fact a break away Canaanite sect and the Canaanites were not destroyed with a single miltary campaign from Joshua but declined over nearly a 1000 years. All of this occurred with no "god" present or needed.

But the Bible claims that God can be felt and experienced in this world, just take things like the burning bush or the existence of Jesus as examples. Yet in every case there is no proof given to substantiate the claims of divine existance. Its all smoke and mirrors and that is where religion operates. All religions thrive in a state of ignorence and intercession, those who are "chosen" by "god" will be a conduit for the masses, all the while providing no proof for their claims. Science does.

I said the "spirit of" Is Obama the Anti-Christ? the History Channel sounds like they have made up their mind and indicate he may be, however, I believe he has set the stage for the emergence of such a power, and will continue to drive us to the pits of Hell (those without Christ) with his reforms and changes in laws.
