I originally was going to get the iphone 4s but got the Samsung Galaxy S II instead…i dont regret it! Iphone is a great phone….but right now…its just a trend..The Galaxy s II deserves more respect!

@choklngt0 After making the iPhone 3G, what have they done that is original or creative? Being an avid Android fan and a big Apple hater, even I will admit that the original 2 iPhones were incredible, but its 3.5 years later and the phone has not changed a bit, which is ridiculous. The iPhone 4s could be 10x the phone it is, but its not because Apple doesn't seem to care anymore. Samsung on the other hand makes big improvements.

PS: A lot of the parts inside the iPhone is built by Samsung.

@choklngt0 4G on an Android can be turned off and on, so when you don't need it or are in an area without 4G service, you can turn it off. At least I get the OPTION to use it when I want. Also you have to remember there are 2 other carriers that carry the iPhone. How about the people on Sprint with an iPhone who only have 3G service and no option to use 4G (Sprint does not use HSPA+ for 4G only WiMax which the iPhone does not have an antenna for).

@pathammond Check the sales figures, you might be surprised. Samsung sold 10 million Galaxy S2 in five months since release. Sure, Apple sells 30 million in the same time period, but it's clear that they are actually meaningfully competing now - it's not an effective iPhone monopoly and a bunch of wannabes anymore.

I don't want to come across as a fanboy here, but how exactly does making the people who buy an iPhone (i.e. your target market) look like stupid help you to ingratiate yourself with them? And doesn't this just point out that noone queues for a samsung phone/the demand is nowhere near as massive? Just a bad idea, and kinda petty. Though Apple equalled that kind of pettiness in the past against other companies. This criticism is leveled at the users though. Poor idea.

@pathammond I don't think the point is to win over the die-hard Apple fans. That's impossible. What they are doing is trying to win over the more moderate Apple users who, for so long, have put up with Apple culture because they've been told the iPhone is the best. Showing them that there are alternatives, that don't come wrapped in some pseudoculture they don't identify with, does work. I know of at least two former iPhone owners who switched simply because they were tired of "Apple culture."

I like the Galaxy S II. But the quality of the iPhone and iOS are what make me get an iPhone. My Galaxy S was only updated once by Samsung, and Apple updates their phones to the latest firmware.
