    Wow, I feel stupid.

  • im the first comment in over 3 years! lol

  • @davetteZR1 and I'm the first one in three weeks "-"

  • @seamuskill lol

  • If you like GBS and Runrig then you have to add Oysterband to your playlist. 30 years of brilliant British folk rock. They wrote the GBS hit When I'm up I can't get down in 1992 (Oyster's version is superior IMO and GBS did 2 songs with them on the album Here I Stand.

Oyster's coming to Canada in April 2008.

  • have to say runrig and Great big sea are my fav bands of this kinda music it just rocks they both do, respect them as much as each other now, I knew about runrig tho before GBS only heard about them when they supported runrig in 2002 I think it was or 2001, I was immensly impressed with them THEY ROCK!!

  • Love it! I've seen the bys a few times before, once for the hometown gig in St. John's, and they're amazing! They're a group who you probably wouldn't expect with electric guitars, but they can pull it off!Keep it up!

  • I first Heard this song on Courage & Patience & Grit, and loved it, this is a good video, except for the poor quality, but great song

  • I love them. :) What a talent they are.

  • Great Big Sea are awesome, this song is awesome WOOOTTT!!!! NEWFIES ROX MY SOX

  • Well, I liked it. Love GBS. Love their versitility. I say, rock on! :) Thanks.

  • Repeat after me. You. Are. Not. A. Rock. Band. Stick to your Newfie roots and keep it real!! At least closer to the version on the CD -- sing it, don't speak it!

  • repeat after me. You.Dont.Know.What.Your.Talking.About.

  • Having been a fan of GBS for well over 7 years, seeing them in concert on multiple occasions, having a degree in music and being a traditional musician myself, I'm fairly certain you have no clue of what the hell you're talking about.

  • just because you have a "degree" in music, which is probably bullshit, in fact your probably only like 10, doesn't mean you know what a band is and is not capable of.

  • I'm 33. In the past 13 years, I've taught at Caesar Rodney, McKean High and Mt. Pleasant in Delaware -- feel free to check on that. I've performed with the Dover Symphony and Diamond State Concert Band and played in Drum and Bugle Corps for 6 seasons. I play traditional Irish (5 instruments) at the local pub. Feel free to check my profile to see all of videos of the music which I supposedly am not capable of knowing. Do a little research before you embarass yourself next time.

  • do you think i have so much free time that i do a little research assignment on you? no, i dont bother doing that like normal people. regardless of your age or what you do for a living, i really dont care, im just saying that great big sea has the talent and capability to play whatever they want. by the way GBS doesnt just play newfoundland stuff. i should know, im from newfoundland and am quite familiar with traditional stuff around

  • I don't care what you do or don't have time to do -- I'm saying you're a dick who can't respect an opinion. While GBS has the talent, the hard fact is that there's no market for the crossover traditional yet and probably won't be as much as I'd like to hear them on mainstream radio.

  • Hey-i respect an opinion, everybody one, i just disagree with what your saying, anyways i really am not looking for an arguement. Although you probably aren't to fond of me, i have one question. Are you familiar with tha band "The Pogues"

  • Big ears, bad teeth and Irish Rebel music? Yep! More of a Planxty/Bothy Band person myself, though I dig the music. I see where you're coming from in terms of the Punk Céilidh, but they pioneered that style in the 80's -- and it's been done ad infinitum in so many ways that there's not too many ways to pull it off originally again.

  • cool. i used to be into metal and classic rock stuff, but lately i've been getting into stuff like fairport convention, the dubliners, the young dublibers, planxty, some steeleye span, and THE POGUES. you seem to be quite familiar with irish traditional/celtic. my dad loves that type of stuff. thats how i got into it. the accordion and whistle in it are crazy. i alo like chirsty moore. i think its also too bad about the condition Shane MacGowan is in at the moment. a great songwriter.

  • Fairport was a group I recently got into... We play 'My Love is in America' at session when it gets late and people either don't mind hippy music or are too drunk to realize it's not traditional.

  • lol...you must play alot of instruments. i play the alto sax, piano, guitar, and drums. my dad plays the button accordion and we're giving him a tin whistle for his bday. hes the traditional fan in the family. he listens to pretty much everything traditional there is. ive never heard of the bothy band though. oh yeah and do you like the punk rock side of that like flogging molly, and the dropkick murphys?

  • Though I was clasically trained as a percussionist, I've also dabbled in Alto/Soprano Sax, Flugal Horn and, of course, the stuff I use for Trad: DADGAD Guitar, Octave Mandolin, high/low whistles, Bodhran. When I discovered Irish music, it was all Trad, so that's more my speed -- I can jam to the Pogues or FM, but am just as happy listening to a session recording.

  • Well, if you really like traditional, have you heard the Irish Descendants? Theyre a great traditional band from here in NFLD. Also The Fables are another great newfie band, although maybe not so much traditional music

  • The songs great but the video is really poor. Sorry I can't rate it.

  • uhm, no harm no foul? 0_o

  • @Femefatal beggers can't be choosers!
