Do you know what I find funny is how the Corvette fanboys think a TT Vette would beat a TT Viper. I own a C5 Z06 and I know that a TT Viper (8.4L) would walk all over a TT Vette (7.0L).
100% positive that's not a c6. Those have a 6.2L 430hp engine. The '08 Vipers have an 8.4L with 600hp. IF that were a c6, the Viper would have ran away from it instead of a steady pull like it did in this video. The ZO6 on the other hand, fits this a lot better. Search videos on here of a stock '07 and up Viper against a stock ZO6 Vette. You'll see the Viper is quicker and faster. Not trying to call you out, just stating facts. All in all, they're still two amazing sports cars!

just throwing my two cents in. but the zr1's engine runs about ten pounds of boost and the block itself cant handle much more than that because if it could chevrolet would have stuck with the composition of the z06 block instead of changing it to compensate for the boost which is what they had to do to compete with the viper add boost the viper is all motor and creating the same power. to add boost to the vipers equation would be uncivilized.

The vette around 3200 didnt feel like lookin it up for the exact weight and it changes slightly as I remember with packages and year. The 08 viper was made to be king of the hill again. The zr-1 is going to be faster but not as good of a track car because the supercharged engine will get too heat soaked. Vipers are so mod friendly though that no one keeps them stock anyways so who cares.

According to the guy who actually posted this, that's not what happened. Go back and read. The Viper was clearly faster than the modded Z06. The first two runs were very short and both backed off before they had really got in it. And, in the third the Viper is pulling away the whole time -- nobody jumped, but even if they did, the Z06 was getting it's butt handed to it.
The ZR1 will cost over 100k (more like 110k) The 08 Viper costs 85k. Get the Viper, put on a S/C like the ZR1 has and its making over 800WHP and STILL costs less than the ZR1. Or, with just an exhaust they are making 600WHP. I've really been impressed by them
the zr-1 is more of a collection car more than anything... there only making 2000 of them and they made for very first one in lemans blue and thats the only one being painted lemans blue, it sold at barret jackson for around 1 million i think, i got to see it in person and it was unbeleivable, i give the viper props but iv also seen many other vids of the viper loseing to a stock c6 z06...
Not really a good comparison, cars built for different purposes. ACR is aimed for the track, ZR1 aimed for the super-car/street enthusiast. You probably will not any ZR1's(or very few) in professionsal races, but you will see a lot of ACR's. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

The weight should offset the increased power the Z06 was making over a stock Z06, but I'm sure another race, with equal weights, isn't too far off in the horizon.

Its pretty much close to the power, and the viper destroys the z06. If the race was any longer the z06 would of been gone.

GM claims it weighs 3130.. But thats COMPLETELY dry.
With a full tank and normal stuff the Z06 actually weighs about 3300 lbs, WITHOUT a driver.
With a 200lb driver the Z06 weighs 3,500 lbs easy

The weight should offset the increased power the Z06 was making over a stock Z06, but I'm sure another race, with equal weights, isn't too far off in the horizon.

how much does the Viper weigh?? Ive seen vids of modified pre-'08 Vipers lose to stock Z06..haha its like the tables have turned..i love sport car battles...they are always never ending

Yes, the car is BONE stock. The 2008 Vipers are making ~545whp
