  • How can you say thats not functional strength MORTALKOMBAT player kid. Like TIMELESSENDLESS said, you have no clue what youre talking about. With strong hands you can achieve countless things in sports or other strength areas. Maybe your brain needs functionality after playing so much mortal kombat.

  • this RAIDENMORTALKOMBAT guy must be a dumbass little kid that plays video games all day long and has nothing positive to say about this magnificent feat of strength because he knows he would never be able to achieve such thing.....GOOD JOB BRO!! RESPECTS FROM NYC!!!!

  • just bought a number 1 and its fucking hard to close. i do like 5 reps per set. cant imagine how hard nr 4 is

  • I'm sure you've heard this enough already but very good work. Keep on trucking. It's good inspiration for people like myself to see some neat accomplishments like this one.

  • I would so love to see you shake hands with all these commenters:)

  • You used the other hand, that doesn't count!

  • @Tarheb Spoken like a true grip noobie

  • I realize it is quite impressive. But man does it look like the smallest accomplishment in the world.

  • Sorry this is not a legal close. The gripper must be credit card distance apart before closing. He used his free hand to push it partially closed before he did it. I give him credit he is strong but that was not an official close.

  • @User8373 Post a video of you closing a #4 if it's so easy. He is using a MMS set. The credit card came into place in 2005 and you can see no one has officially closed the #4 using a CCS

  • @User8373 Hopefully one day you get a handjob off somebody with this kind of grip strength and your penis is left in tatters.

  • please someone help me out. is Strongman Grips Heavy Duty Hand Gripper as good as captain of crush hand grippers?

  • @1080famous Not from what I've heard, but all i know is that my CoC's haven't weakened at all (according to my friends who have tried them multiple times)

  • @1080famous I don't think so, from what I've heard. And they do use the CoC grippers in competitions and events.

  • This hurts the fuck out of my hand if I do it like that x_x Feels like I'm splitting my phalanges in half. I need to use the pad of my thumb to hold that part of it, not the palm.

  • now he's proud...

  • FAO luffanjr: If you must insist on posting negative comments do at least bother reading up on the subject matter at hand. You said 'FFs that was not closed correct. If it even was a number four you cant help with your other hand to close the first bit. NOT approved! '. ALL gripper closes, expect for so-called TNS (table no sets) allow a setting of the gripper with the other hand. This includes IM cert scheme. But this wasn't a certificated attempt. It's just a close. And it has the No 4 showing

  • how many reps of this can you do now?

  • @Gripperbookguy good effort there, but check out this 4 closing, /watch?v=SzgbMaU5_OI

on that note, how many reps can you do?

  • FFs that was not closed correct. If it even was a number four you cant help with your other hand to close the first bit. NOT approved!

  • It's awesome! you should get a COC certification.

    David Horne, is that you?

  • Great job! I see you are 46 years old. That is amazing! I hope you go one to close even bigger stronger grippers. I was afraid being over 40 was too old to close a #4. You are the first person I have seen, besides Joe Kinney, close the #4 who is over in their 40s. I am 42 and am on a life quest to get through the #4 and ultimately the Beef Builder Grand Elite. I have my heart and sights on the Beef Builder Pro as my super ultimate goal. I respect your talent very much.

  • @khalsasikh Magnus Magnus Samuelsson who today is 42 years old have been close this

  • holy crap.. one guy i'd never ever give a shake hand o_O

  • Mobster you are a living monsta

  • Small close but strong hands. That was smaller than a parallel close, crush it like Kinney.

  • He (me) is 4 time British and 2x European grip champion. Do some research.

  • @Jonte1337o: as is typical there is no evidence of what you can do. Not a single upload. So Jonte I name thee 'cretin'. Deal with it.

  • @Gripperbookguy so? only 4 people in the world have been registered closing the nr 4, so until i see this man in an official contest of some sort, then i will say: Fake

  • Yes. I've had it down to 5mm but not tried it for some time.

  • hey nice close. have you ever tried the hg500?

  • @mariastength : yes down to 5mm but some time ago. I try to stay around a 3.5 all the time right handed and better than a 3 left.

  • just a question, but do you think there is some form to closing these? my left had a hard time keeping up with the right. then I noticed my right engages thumb movement into the close. when i tried that with my left, it became that much easier. any opinion on that?

  • @omxpablo19 : check out the gripper forums for more info.

  • good but very useless to have a functional strenght

  • @RAYDENMORTALKOMBAT: if it was all I did such comments would have their place. But as it's not...

  • Comment removed

  • Useless to have a functional strength? Dude do you have any clue what you are talking? The best function of a hand is to grip, if to have a powerful grip is not functional then I don't know what is.

  • @TimelessEndless when i c the people who does this, competing in the wsm probably i will change my opinion.

  • Comment removed

  • GREAT JOB!!! Fuck what all these other bitches say. That took some fuckin strength. I bet these bitches cant even close the #1.

  • respect.

  • Nice job! What a bunch of boneheads who decide to rip what you just did. It's freaking impressive no matter how you cut it. You weren't claiming to do it under certification rules. I'd like to see any of these guys post a video trying to do what you just did.

  • WHERE DO YOU BUY THIS

  • @IAMWOOMLOLAFK: Ironmind.com

  • So ridiculous... I went from Sport to 1 to 1.5 to 2 in about 3 months... Stalled out at 2.5, still can't close it with regularity. I have an old 3 and the idea of closing that is nuts.... A 4? Just unreal. Too cool to see it done. Thanks for posting the vid.

  • Just something e have on one of a handful of CD's that we use when we train.

  • What's the song in the background?!!

  • it must be annoying hearing people say you did it wrong doesn't count when the majority of people cant even budge the #4 using there whole body...

  • oh... no one told me. Thanks for being the first to tell me I'm doing it wrong. Now tell me oh wise one what you know about setting a gripper, dog legs, spring ratings, spread and so on. You do not this is not a cert attempt right?

  • @Gripperbookguy That gajcatsb guy is probably just a troll IMO, he goes onto every video where someone uses a set and claims it's a "two handed close" (he even told Paul Knight that his #4 attempt doesn't count unless it's a table no set), yet unsurprisingly he doesn't have any videos up of his own gripper training (which if I were to guess includes plastic K-Mart grippers). Regardless of what the naysayers say, domination of a #4 like in this video is out of this world amazing.

  • @MVillani1985 No videos of any kind. Troll indeed.

  • @MVillani1985 Blocked him now as well

  • Too much help with the left hand. It's a test of one-handed grip, not two.

  • Too much help with the left hand. Do the whole thing without even using the off hand.

  • BAG OF SHITE

  • So you're Steve Gardener? Wow. Hopefully you'll be certifying me on the No.3 some day :)

  • Steve Gardener i think this guys name is..

  • Indeed it is. Not long back from competing in the Mighty Mitts event at the Arnold. Still tired.

  • Yeah i saw the pics on FB, picking the dumbell out the box lmao

  • wow big hands

  • THAT was unreal. That set actually didn't look all that deep either (what I call an intermediate set, halfway between CCS width and MMS width), and that close was almost looking like an overcrush. As another said, many don't know how tough these things are. But that #4, I'm still aiming to close it some day, even though I can only chest crush it now and I can't even close the #3 yet (I'm about an inch away with my right hand from closing the #3). So, are you going to aim for the BB Pro now?

  • Nope. I have a GE but need to get back to popping a 4 again.

  • What I've found is that taking a month off every year works best to keep that hunger strong. I think if you work at it, you'll be able to cert on the #4 possibly even shoot for the Pro with an MMS.

  • That was awesome!!! People don't realize just how hard the CoC are. I've had approx. 50+ people try to close my #1... only 3 have done it!!! This is a #4 close. Crazy!!

  • @legendofjd3 /watch?v=SzgbMaU5_OI this is more crazy gripping!

  • Doesn't count, because your gripper isn't single stamped.

  • @MrJimmyjonesjr What a cock. What would it count for? Do I win something if it has another stamp? Only collectors and obssessives worry about stamps.

  • yeah was a parallel set but you stil breezed it! im battling the 3.5 now and its getting managable but the 4 is just ridiculous stil!!!

  • right now im training under the ivanko.

  • Good job, I am inspired and a little envious!!

    Well done mate!

  • sorry!ya didnt do it bwahhhhhh!lol

  • @fatsmut oh no. How deep do such words cut me... and so on.

  • @Gripperbookguy How long it took for you to close #4?And one more question if i may,Do you know anybody who can close the beef builder Pro?.I just started grip training and i think is very fun but when i tried #4 i was like " WHAT FUCK IS THIS'.It's almost impossible to close this thing.

  • @saxzw I once saw someone close the BB Pro on Grippermania but it was pre-set to parallel in a hose clamp. The BB Pro is probably the highest that anyone's ever going to close. I think the World Class is just a chest crusher myself, but above the old Galaxy, you're talking impossible to even chest crush.

  • do it again!

    lol

  • awesome close Mob......this video never gets old

  • 12000 views... you may be right :) Both of ya.

  • I realize that closing the #4 in that fashion wouldn't qualify you to be certified for it, but it's still damn impressive to be able to close the thing as easily as you made it seem. Good work.

  • Yea I think for a "legit" close it has to be started with a playing cards width. But once again dam impressive to just be able to close it and hold it. Joe Kinney could close the number 4 easy. He was the first to do it.

  • @TheMightykaz That's a certificate close. The video is merely a decent close not me going for the cert.

  • 11000 views (30+ a day) and still getting comments. Cheers guys.

  • That's some nice crushing right there.

  • seriously man, GET CERTIFIED!!

    Good job!

  • HOLY SHIT!!!

i would not want to get a handshake from you....

i can bearly close the no.2!!!

  • holy shit!!!!

  • Are you really that retarded?? Seriously. Just buy one and see for yourself.

  • lol

  • Very nicely done!

  • fuck right off...

    wicked wicked wicked!!!

  • amazing... that looks legit to me... what's to stop you getting cert. on the no.4?

  • You need to do it CCS, this is Mash Monster style, no longer valid for cert i dont think

  • how do u train to get stronger for grippers?

sets? 5x5? or maxium attempts? hmm.. hehe

it's not like weight traning where u can increase the weight slighty every week.. hehehe

  • do captain of crushes lose their resistance over time like a heavy gripper?

  • like every metal yes but it's far slower than the HG due to more quality materials

  • heavy grips are made in China and grippers like RB, Captains of crush and beefbuilder are the real quality stuff, used in competition arround the world, so in my opinion go for a real gripper.

  • damn, thats..... thats just damn good, hehe ;D i just started, can close the number 1 more than ten times in my right hand and ALMOST one in my left ;P hehe

  • lol to much masturbation for u

  • Thats Fucking sick brother!! Demands respect. I can shut my 3.5 every attempt but i cannot even budge the four enough to set the gripper. I dont get it. how can half a step be so much harder

  • As I haven't managed it for weeks it's no good asking me LOL!

  • i'm afraid i don't quite understand..i realize you are using your other hand to help at the start..still very impressive..but are you certified on the #3 or the #3.5?...it would seem you should be capable of at least the #3.

  • I certified on the 3 back in 2001.

  • Sir that is just rediculous. I am impressed. I'm working onto a #2 and I'm still in a struggle and that to me is some good inspiration :D

  • Thank you.

  • Two things. In both posts you're telling me what I should be doing. That's never going to come across well from two guys that don't know each other. Secondly in my earlier response I specifically say learn what MMS, CCS etc are only for you to ask 'whats the purpose of the other hand being in there?'. The 's' in MMS and CCS stands for 'setting'. It's been asked about before as though my free hand has closed the gripper as well as the working hand. That's why I said 'look at 20 seconds in'.

  • ownd..

  • Let's start with 'who is Julian' and then 'why should I do what Julian says'. Then we have 'what's Julians problem, perhaps he can look at 20 seconds in and see my right hand closing the gripper'. Finally we can end on 'how come Julian hasn't seen any of the rest of my gripper closes in this account?'.

Hey Julian, learn about CCS, MMS, TNS and so on. This is what the gripper guys do and is in the top 3 of ALL CoC 4 close videos. That says much about the others.

  • Good stuff Mob. Keep it up.

  • That's great man. How long have you trained to close this gripper? And will you be on the certified list soon? Keep it up;)

  • I've trained grippers since 2000/2001 (all in my gripper book). I'm not aiming to certify just yet. I have some other grip strength stuff I wanna do.

  • how big are your hands? That is amazing

  • A little above average but not excessively so.

  • BEAST!!!

  • Cheers. I seem to get the 4's every other workout on torsion grippers rather than every time as I'd like.

  • Of a hand or a throat maybe doubtful anywhere else. A goos grip us useful for police officrs, doormen, etc when controlling people.

  • haha i wouldent even want to see you squeeze someones arm you would probly break some bones

  • I'm glad to be the motivating factor in your journey. I'm always hungry for the next thing and see those ahead of me I wanna match and then beat. Still nice guys just lower down the list ha ha.

  • This is the ultimate feat of grip strength, congratulations! I added this video to my favorites as it's very motivating for me. My ultimate goal is to close the #4, I'll never stop training until I do. Keep crushing those grippers

  • it's just hard to see with your other hand in the way...great job if you closed!

  • Take it to about 20 seconds and then pause it. If you can then go frame by frame. You'll see it's about 2-inches apart before I sweep it down. It is what it is.

  • it's kind of hard to see where you started the squeeze with your right hand. IRONMIND needs to start considering a #5! how often do you train your grip, what is your traning for the grippers?

  • As above the sweep/squeeze starts at about the 20-second mark on the video. Check other videos to get a better idea (the 3.5 in my yard is a good example as is the easy 4 video). There are, of course, already harder grippers than a CoC 4 (the Beefbuilder make has some as does the Robert Baraban brand).

I train GRIPPERS 2 x a week (occasionally 3) alternating between David Horne's Vulcan Gripper and the usual torsion spring grippers. I also train the two hand pinch.

  • just watched your #31/2...NICE! i need to work my grippers more often. i'm concentrating on my squat. did 10 with 380 @ 190lbs. and adding a pound each work out (pda fractional plates) i will get 10 with 400. then i will go from there.

  • Paul 'Viper' Savage (my lodger and also a grip nut) is currently experimenting with Squats and grip.

  • by the way what size are your wrists? look pretty thick

  • I agree a #5 would be very cool, but consider this: no one has closed the #4 under the new ironmind rules (credit card close) - ever! the list of 5 people that closed the #3 from 1998 to 2004 was under the old rules.

  • Christ Steve, keep watching this and shaking my head, you have grip strength far beyond anything I can understand at the moment.

    Congratulations and don't stop there...

  • It's a little off at the moment. Plus it's never enough. I get a 3 I want a 4. I get a 4 I want it all the time and so on.

  • Craaaazy! Not seen many who can close the #4, great job! I bought the whole series from Ironmind. I have #3 as a goal in life, and the #4 is just fun to own

  • "Fuckin Avit"

    Respect!

  • holy hell dude! thats freakin amazing. whats its calibration? now u have to go for the ccs close.

  • Don't know yet. The gripboard guys may be sending me an RGC or a calibrated 4 or two to test myself on. I also shut Jim Wylie's 4 rated at 4.01 the same evening.

  • congrats steve

  • 416 views in under a day - nice :D

  • congrats Steve!!

  • Thanks guys

  • Great close!! Congrats!!!

  • Amazing work Steve!!!!

  • Made it look easy. Congrats.

  • FUCKING awesome mash Steve!

  • Awesome crushing there Steve!

  • you dominated it. congrats

  • FUCKING AWESOME

  • Great going, Steve!

  • DAMN!!!! FLAWLESS VICTORY!!! amazing close and very very convincing!! You overcrushed this gripper man!! Congrats!! This makes my day all good, (it is 5 minutes to 12 in the night overhere.) Will it be possible to calibrate this gripper?
