I did mine myself since I used to work at a lincoln dealer. But I wouldn't suggest doing it yourself. But every ls I have seen its the clockspring. Also the valve covers cause misfires around or after 50k miles. It starts leaking and then sputtering like crazy after a while. These are not cheap to fix either :(
Yeah, I had to have those repairs on my 2000 Lincoln lS Sport. The air bag light was the clock spring and the cost was about $370 to repair. The valve do leak after a while. I replaced all coils, plugs and had valve cover job done and this ran me $800. All these repairs were done at Lincoln dealer.
Don't get me started if your hyraulic fan or hydraulic pump starts to go. I won't tell you how expensive those are to fix but at least ask the mechanic to take you out to dinner first, lol.

While recently visiting Canada, I read in their newspaper a teenager in his dad's Lincoln LS V8 apparently was clocked on the QEW at 239kph/150mph. The OPP (Ontario Provincial Police)impounded the car, and revoked the young man's license on the spot.
Its possible, I got the spedo up to 160 on the rack at the shop in the air but I beleive the governor kicks in at about 140. Thats all I could get mine to do anyways. unless you have like a xcal2. It eliminates the governor and also the rev limiter. Sucks to be that kid anyways. My state is a little bit better in that respect sometimes
i got my 2001 ls on ebay with a clear title 128,000 miles running perfectly for 4700. it had the standard airbag light on and typical condensation in the headlight. absolutely a steal, and i bought it in the summer of 2007 for that price.

Lincoln LSes suck. I drove one with a V8, stopped on the side of the expressway and floored it with traction control off and it gave a small chirp and took off. It wasn't even that fast, but jesus I was expecting more squealing and burning than that out of a V8. Those V8s sound all mechanical like they're broke. Jaguar didn't help that Lincoln out any...
Did I say it was the best car ever? Its not like a ferrari or anything but it is still a nice car. At least thats what everyone I give a ride in it tells me. You can put a supercharger on it and make it faster.

I do not promote driving 140 if anyone is to do so do it where you will not harm yourself or others. Do not do this in traffic. But if you do so rember 140= ticket, death or fatal damage to yourself or others if you loose control. Ive seen 200 mph in a corvette so im not the only one to do over 70 but be safe if doing so. Tracks are good to do so but if not be careful

Debating if i am just gonna take the dam engine out and swap it for a slightly bigger engine. Also looking for a great transmission for it. trying to get 400HP out of it. Not much more.. really theres no need, just want it to have 400hp and do it efficiently!

I assume that one is a V6. I had a 2000 LS V8 and it would hit 152MPH according to the speedometer (I know they are only supposed to do 147 or whatever, but that's what mine showed) and I could get to that speed in about a minute and a half from a stop
I rented an LS a year ago, best car I've ever rented. Smooth handling, great interior, and very comfortable. But the thing that stuck out to me most was the speed. Yo that car freakin moves did 120 in it
