I think Jan Harlan has always made it clear that he honoured Stanley Kubric'k's wish that nothing unused or from behind the scenes of Kubrick films should be released to the public. I assume the power of the Kubrick estate could get this pulled just as easily as Stanley had A Clockwork Orange pulled from cinema screens in England. Personally, I see where Stanley was coming from. 4 years of shooting a film. Why undermine the film by showing bloopers, etc. Still, I'd like to learn from Trumbull.
How about showing the entire presentation that Trumbull makes? I'm curious to see what he has to say about other films he has worked on and on the rumored project he started to talk about before getting cut off.
From what I've seen/read, Kubrick was never fond of 'behind the scenes' doc, especially not of his films. The only one he allowed to be made was for 'The Shining' which was shot by his daughter.
So perhaps Kubrick would have never approved of such a documentary project demystifying his work and Warner Bros is honoring that? Who knows...
After all, after production of 2001, Kubrick himself destroyed the set to prevent the studio from re-using the set for any possible sequels.
Warner Home Video should be ashamed of themselves for cancelling such a Beautiful project.... Mr Trumbull clearly shows he has So much passion for this project and the teaser clearly indicates that... With so much behind-the-scenes material uncovered, it would be a travesty not to see this Ultimate documentary complimenting such a breakthrough movie as 2001 come to light...

@KillerDungeonMaster This pretended "cancellation" is part of the PR propaganda.

If it is cancelled, it is a shame. I was excited about this doc.

WB thinks if its not that piece of crap avatar (surely the most disappointing and over-hyped movie of all time), then its not worth it.

That is really too bad. The teaser looks fantastic! WB make odd choices. I would pay to watch this documentary.

I understand that this is a work in progress, It would be a shame if it doesn't come to fruition. Many thanks to Mr. Trumbull and Mr. Larsen.
